Len followed behind Haru, a blank expression on his face. So, his father isn't alive anymore? Could it... be because of me?
-
Cheeks flaring red, Silver swallowed before reaching out and taking the offered hand. When on his feet, he stumbled forwards, managing to right himself... against Ethan's chest. He feels so... soft... Frozen in his thoughts, he found himself unable to move. Snappy raised an eyebrow and glanced away, giving as best a smile he could when he noticed Cynder.
-
Len quickly placed a comforting hand on Haru's shoulder before sighing. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, sheepishly looking down. "I shouldn't have asked."
-
Some time later, Silver had just completed his exhausting training, watching with pride as Snappy began to glow. He's evolving... The glow became bright, before dulling down to show a Feraligatr. Silver gave a smirk. "I'm in trouble now..." he snickered. "You're so much bigger than I am... I better make sure you don't try and eat me." Snappy glanced down at his trainer and with a fangy grin, chomped his jaws together. "Okay, okay..." he snorted. "No need to threaten me. Anyway, let's go. We'll head back to Goldenrod City." The newly evolved Feraligatr watched as Silver walked outside the cave, sweatdropping as his trainer collided with someone. "Oof..." he grunted, falling to the ground. "Why me? Hey, you'd better get off me or I'll... huh?" Looking up at his assailant, he came face to face with someone very familiar. "E-Ethan?" he stammered. "C-could you... please get off me?"
-
"Haru..." Len's quiet voice spoke up. "Your mother is so kind, a kindness you also carry with you. I wonder... is it just the two of you here?" The prince continued to glance around the room.
-
Silver gave one of his rare smiles, placing a hand on the Croconaw's head. "Hey," he said softly. "Don't worry. I'm sure we'll see them again. I mean, after all... Ethan is..." Ethan is... Trailing off, Silver slowly glanced down, before standing up again. His face was expressionless, although a slight rosy tint coloured his cheeks. "C'mon..." he muttered. "We have to continue training."
-
Len froze, seeing the seriousness of Haru's words emoted on his face. In spite of his own feelings, he gave a soft chuckle. "Okay..." he mumbled. "I'll stay a little longer."
-
Having arrived at Mt Mortar, Silver watched as Snappy slowly trudged up to him. Kneeling down, the red-haired teen's eyes scanned over the water Pokemon. "Alright..." he said, concern seeming evident in his voice. "What's wrong?" The Croconaw glanced down before glancing over his shoulder, back in the direction of Olivine City. "Is it Ethan?" Silver asked, breathing a sigh of relief as Snappy shook his head. "Okay... is it... Cynder?" The way the Croconaw tensed up indicated that Cynder was the cause. Silver gave a grin. "Don't worry," he chuckled. "You'll evolve too and be even stro...nger?" Silver trailed off his Pokemon shaking his head again. The look on his face seemed a little lonely. It was as if... "I get it now..." he mumbled. "You miss him... you care for him... don't you?" Snappy looked down at the ground.

[warning=Warning]This fanfiction contains: Shounen'ai (boys in love with other boys) Character death [/warning] I couldn't write a Prisoner fanfic without making a Paper Aeroplane one too, so yeah. Here it is. Based on the song of the same name, it is the answer to "Prisoner", although the main focus is Haru Saito.<br /><br />Rating:<br /><br /><img src="http://www.the-gcn.com/images/ratings/esrb/teen.gif" alt="ESRB: T - Teen" title="ESRB: T - Teen"> * <img src="http://www.the-gcn.com/images/ratings/oflc/m15.gif" alt="OFLC: M15+" title="OFLC: M15+"> * <img src="http://www.the-gcn.com/images/ratings/pegi/12.gif" alt="PEGI: 12+" title="PEGI: 12+"> * <img src="http://www.the-gcn.com/images/ratings/cero/b-12.gif" alt="CERO: B12+" title="CERO: B12+"><br /><br /><br />Paper Aeroplane<br /><br />Ever since I laid eyes on him, I knew he was special. He would never notice me, because he'd be drawing on a piece of paper. His clothes and demeanour were dirty, but such could be expected from a prisoner. I knew Papa would be upset with me had he saw me outside the hospital, but I needed to be out in the fresh air. Giving a slight smile, I pulled out my scrap book and began drawing again. I always drew him. Call it obsession, but something about the prisoner captivated me. I wanted to get to know him, but I was too shy. Plus, my condition could deteriorate at any given time. It would seem that he'd make that decision for me though, as when I was finished and ready to return to the hospital, a paper airplane flew in front of me. Catching it, I turned around to see him smiling nervously at me. Glancing at the paper plane in my hands, I suddenly noticed there was writing on it. Opening it up, I realised he had written me a letter.<br /><br />"To the boy on the other side,<br />I'm not sure why, but upon seeing you, my heart skipped a beat.<br />I want to talk to you as much as I can.<br />I hope that I don't offend you.<br />I am after all, a prisoner.<br />If you don't want to talk to me,<br />I can understand.<br />Best wishes...<br />Prisoner X196705"<br /><br />Glancing over at him with a blush, I smiled back at him, reaching into my pocket for my scrap book and pen. With a shy grin, I wrote down my own letter.<br /><br />"Prisoner X196705,<br />I'm glad you feel that way, because I must tell you... I've been watching you for some time now.<br />You never noticed because you were always working on your drawings, so I decided to draw you. It's in my art book.<br />I've loved you from the day I first saw you.<br />I hope we can keep talking, and that you one day can get out.<br />Love always...<br />The boy on the other side."<br /><br />Tearing the paper from my book, I neatly folded it into a paper airplane and let it fly over the fence that seperated us.<br /><br /> One time, at a certain place<br /> Not associated with this world<br /> Two unlucky people connect in the world <br /> With a single paper aeroplane<br /> <br />I watched as he caught the plane on its descent, his eyes growing misty as he read my letter. I knew the look in his eyes all too well. He loved me too. I suddenly heard a voice call out to him, ordering him to return to his room.<br /><br />"Go..." I said, softly, yet loud enough for him to pick up. "I'll return tomorrow."<br /><br />The smile on his face when I told him that melted my heart. I, Haru Saito, had fallen in love with a prisoner. Returning to the hospital, I couldn't wait for the next day. When it arrived, Papa kissed my forehead goodbye and headed off for work. With a shy smile, I crept out of the hospital, heading straight for the place I had met the prisoner. My smile widened when I saw him, waiting for me patiently, a heart melting smile on his face. He had another letter for me, which he sent over the fence as a paper airplane. The words made my heart skip beats. Staring up at the prisoner, I saw the determination in his eyes. He wanted to be free so he could stay with me. I wrote back saying that even though there was a fence keeping us from physically being together, no such fence existed in my heart. When he read those words, he cried tears of happiness. My own eyes moistened, the tears falling. I was happy to have met someone who made me feel special.<br /><br /> Every day I escape the hospital<br /> At the place where my Papa works <br /> I meet with you; you're everything to me <br /> When I read your letters <br /> My heart becomes warm<br /> My cheeks are coloured; is this love?<br /> <br />-----<br /><br />As time passed, my condition worsened, but regardless, I would always escape from the hospital to see the prisoner who had stolen my heart. One day though, I was reading one of the prisoner's letters, when Papa made a surprise visit. Curious, he looked at them. Upon seeing the prisoner's ID code signed at the bottom, he snatched the letter from me, and told me he disapproved.<br /><br /> But<br /> Why does Papa say <br /> With a scary face <br /> That this child <br /> Is no good to see? <br /> I didn't understand<br /><br />Scrunching up the letter, he threw it into the trash, before walking out to cool off. Once he was gone, I retrieved the letter, flattening it out and holding it to my chest. Tears began to flow down my face as I thought about the boy.<br /><br /> If I have you, then that is enough<br /> You give my life meaning <br /> In this room where light doesn't shine <br /> The future was shining<br /> <br />Papa returned a few minutes later to see me staring out the window. He came over to me and asked how I was.<br /><br />"I'm... okay..." I mumbled weakly. "Just tired, I guess..."<br /><br />Glancing over at my chart, he frowned, realising that my condition was getting worse more rapidly than he had hoped. With a sigh, he bid me goodnight, before closing my curtains, kissing my forehead and leaving. I sat down on the bed and my thoughts returned to the prisoner.<br /><br /> Day by day the number of tubes increases<br /> My hearing grows distant <br /> I wonder if even walking has become fairly difficult <br /> If soon I won't leave this place alive <br /> In the end... <br /> I don't want to burden you, since you'll only worry<br /> <br />The next day was hard for me. My body was in such pain, and I knew that it wouldn't be much longer before I'd be crippled. I had to see him, but the thought of telling him I couldn't return killed me inside. However, it was best that he not expect me to return when it was obvious I couldn't. I grabbed my pen and scribbled my final letter to him.<br /><br />"Prisoner X196705,<br />I'm afraid I have some bad news.<br /> I shall be going far away, and I can't come back here.<br /> I wish I could stay, and that we could be together outside, but that won't be able to happen.<br />I'm terribly sorry, and hope that you can keep going.<br />Love always,<br />The boy on the other side."<br /><br />As I wrote, my tears splashed onto the paper. Finishing up, I ran out of the hospital, heading straight for the concentration camp where the boy was. Each step was murder, but I had to do it. I quickly approached, and he was there smiling. Panting heavily, I caught my breath, before giving a sad smile and throwing my last paper plane over the fence. When he caught it, I turned away, tears falling as he read it.<br /><br />I run<br /> My thoughts of goodbye<br /> I send out to you <br /> On an exchanged <br /> Paper aeroplane <br /> I can't show you my tears anymore<br /> <br />I could hear his heart break. Choking back sobs, I began to move off, until I heard him call out, telling me he would still wait for me.<br /><br /> "I'll wait! I'll wait for you forever!<br /> Until that day when you come back <br /> If I don't lose your precious letters that I have<br /> We'll meet again, alright? "<br /> <br />His words tore me to pieces. There was such pain and sadness in his voice, but as I dared a glance back, I could see him still smiling. It was smaller than the other ones, distorted from sadness, but it was still there nonetheless. I ran back to the hospital and as I arrived, my chest began to burn. I dropped to my knees, darkness taking over. I could hear the doctors all shouting to get me stabilised. My father was called in and could only watch in despair as doctors worked to save me. They succeeded, but I'd never be able to stand again. I was given six months at most to live.<br /><br /> It's been many months since then<br /> My body no longer moves<br /> I wonder if you'll come to welcome me very soon<br /> When we were on the brink of separation that time<br /> <br />-----<br /><br />As the days and months passed, I could feel my life slipping away little by little. Clutching the last letter the prisoner had sent me, I kept my eyes closed as memories came into my head.<br /><br /> If I hadn't pretended to be tough, it would've been fine<br /> It's already too late <br /> You who are smiling somewhere even now... <br /> I want to see you, I want to see you, I want to see you<br /> <br />I was feeling dizzy, dropping the paper airplane letter onto the floor. The drone of the heart monitor began to slow, but I ignored it, thinking of the meadow in which the prisoner and I had fallen in love with each other. I smiled weakly, remembering how the sun would shine down on the flowers. I would never get to see it again.<br /><br /> The light doesn't strike the flower<br /> It simply withers, waiting for its destiny<br /> Only the letters you gave <br /> Are light that is given to me<br /> <br />I weakly called out for Papa, who was by my side instantly. I tried to tell him to take me to see the prisoner, but the words wouldn't form. My eyes began to grow heavy.<br /><br /> Your letters are blurry as I can no longer read them<br /> The sound of inorganic matter echoes in the room <br /> Please, if this is the end<br /> Let me go to where you are...<br /> <br />Papa noticed the paper airplane I had dropped on the floor. It was the same one he had scrunched up and threw out. His eyes softening with sadness, I think he finally understood how I truly felt about the prisoner.<br /><br />"I'm sorry..." he whispered. "Tell him I'm sorry too..."<br /><br />Picking up the paper airplane in his hands, he placed it in mine and gave a sad smile. Weakly, I smiled back, my eyes closing for the final time. I briefly heard the flat-line of the heart monitor before darkness took me away. As I faded, I could have sworn I saw the other boy beckon me into the unknown.<br /><br />Because I always had you (Because I always had you)<br />I could live without forgetting to have a smile on my face (I could live without forgetting to have a smile on my face)<br />The deep darkness tears the two of us apart, and... (The deep darkness tears the two of us apart, and...)<br />...the deep darkness brings us together again (...the deep darkness brings us together again)<br /><br />Moments later, I awoke, finding myself on a meadow that seemed familiar. Confused, I walked around.<br /><br />"Is this..." I said softly, my voice echoing strangely. "...the afterlife?"<br /><br />Walking around some more, I suddenly noticed the massive fence. It was the same fence that I used to see the prisoner on the other side of. Sure enough, he was on the other side. I already knew what that meant. He had died too, and we were now together for eternity, although the fence blocked us. The prisoner noticed me, and as he turned around and approached the fence, smiling his warm smile, the massive pile of metal suddenly disappeared, the other boy's clothes changing. He was no longer ragged and dirty, although it didn't matter to me. He was here, with me. My eyes filled with tears of joy, a wide smile on my own lips. As he extended his hand, I took it, and together, we entered the light.<br /><br />Until tomorrow...<br />At that place...<br /><br />The End

WarningThis fanfiction contains: Shounen'ai (boys in love with other boys) Character death This is based on a VOCALOID song of the same name, although there have been a few changes. Instead of falling in love with Rin, a girl from outside, Len falls in love with a young boy. It's actually kind of a sad song. Anyway, enjoy. Rating: * * * Prisoner One time, in a certain place A single prisoner Fell in love with someone beyond the fence It's painful... so painful... I had no idea why I was imprisoned there in the first place. I hadn't committed any crimes, but the soldiers came and took me away. My freedom taken, I had been there for quite some time, but then one day I saw him, and I realised, I, Len Kagamine, was there for a reason. To meet him. Robbed of freedom I suffer persecution Between you, and the dirty me There's a difference... a difference... It was by a strange twist of fate that I even had a pencil and paper, but I decided to use it to my advantage. After all, they were fair to us if we behaved, and since I liked art, they let me draw, though I never got any colours. Always black. This time, it suited my needs, as I began writing a letter. "To the boy on the other side, I'm not sure why, but upon seeing you, my heart skipped a beat. I want to talk to you as much as I can. I hope that I don't offend you. I am after all, a prisoner. If you don't want to talk to me, I can understand. Best wishes... Prisoner X196705" There was only one way I could get it to him without ruining it. There were many updrafts around, so giving a slight grin, I folded the letter into a paper airplane. Taking aim, I let it fly, watching in delight as it flew over the fence. We wrote letters Folding paper aeroplanes In order to send them over the wall to each other Fly away! Fly away! Giving a sigh, I watched with intent as it flew in front of him. His brown eyes widened slightly as he caught the plane in his hands, before glancing over in my direction. I couldn't help but give a shy smile. He smiled back before noticing there was writing on the paper. Unfolding the plane, he read my letter before staring back up at me. His smile widened, before he took out a pen and paper from his pocket. Obviously, he was an art fan as well. Writing on the paper, he finished up, before folding it up like I did, and sending it back to me, fidgeting with his light brown hair afterwards. Ah, I'll say that one day I'll be freed Even if I know... ...that it's a lie. My heart pounded as I opened the letter, and what I read made me misty-eyed. "Prisoner X196705, I'm glad you feel that way, because I must tell you... I've been watching you for some time now. You never noticed because you were always working on your drawings, so I decided to draw you. It's in my art book. I've loved you from the day I first saw you. I hope we can keep talking, and that you one day can get out. Love always... The boy on the other side." I gave a goofy grin. I now realised that I had fallen in love with the boy who could roam so freely. If I had you, whatever lies there were I felt that they all could become true "Come over here and speak with me" I could never convey this thought We spoke to each other softly, but I was suddenly called away, to return to my room. I very softly heard him say he'd be back tomorrow. I couldn't help but smile. However Looking at you It is my small happiness For tomorrow ----- Several months passed, and I would often see the boy I fell in love with. Whether it was me writing him a letter, or the other way around, I felt happy. I glanced down at my treasure, many paper planes with his letters written on them. Every day since then For many days and months Your paper aeroplanes have been My joy, my joy With a smile, I put them in my special place, before walking outside. I knew he'd be coming that day. I wasn't disappointed, because as I walked over to the fence, I saw him running towards it. When he got close enough, he stopped, panting to catch his breath. With a sad smile, he threw the paper plane he had prepared over the fence, turning away as I read it. "Prisoner X196705, I'm afraid I have some bad news. I shall be going far away, and I can't come back here. I wish I could stay, and that we could be together outside, but that won't be able to happen. I'm terribly sorry, and hope that you can keep going. Love always, The boy on the other side." Yes, it was a habit, for us to sign the letters as we did the first time. We didn't even know each other's names yet, but that didn't matter. He was leaving. Though suddenly You informed me That you were going far away, so Bye-bye! Bye-bye! My chest tightened, my heart starting to break. Glancing over, I saw him start to walk away. My voice raised loud enough for him to hear me. "I'll wait!" I cried out, tears streaming down my face. "I'll wait for you forever! Until that day when you come back." Ah, while in agony Until today in my life There hasn't been a day Where I've cried this much He stopped for a moment, and I could see him stare over his shoulder, his eyes also shedding the same tears. He said nothing, which allowed me to continue. "If I don't lose your precious letters that I have..." I said, sniffling, before forcing a smile on my face. "We'll meet again, alright?" The boy I loved choked back a sob before moving away. If I had you, whatever my destiny was like I felt that I could have a smile on my face I met you, whose name I don't even know And felt that the future would be bright As I watched him disappear into the horizon, I broke down, clutching his final letter to my chest. My sobs only soft, I wanted to be able to get out of this place, so I could be with him wherever he went. I can't call out for you Chase after you Or even leave I'm unable to ----- Days passed, and no matter how long I waited, he never returned. My tears would always come. Staring out at the open meadow, I wept. By now, the entire camp had realised I was in love with someone who was free. As I retreated to my room, I kept all the boy's letters with me. Suddenly, I heard the general snicker, two soldiers taking hold of me to stop me from moving. "What do we have here?" he taunted, snatching one of the paper airplanes. "A love letter? You've no chance." Smirking, he tore the letter up in front of me. My eyes widened, tears flowing freely, as I remembered the boy's smiling face. I lost control, knocking the soldiers from me, before slamming my fist into the general's face. I managed to get in one good hit, and was about to get another one in when the soldiers stopped me. I bit my lip, sobbing softly. I knew what would happen now. "Guards..." the general mumbled. "Do it..." I knew where they would take me. I was being led to the gas chamber... to my death. Finally, my turn has come You're gone now But with no regrets in this world My heart is screaming; why is that? I was thrown into the dark room, the gas seeping in almost as soon as the door was sealed behind me. It seeped in slowly, and I continued to cry. I want to live a just a little more I have no hard feelings But, in the end "I want to see you" The boy's face appeared in my memories, and when I realised he was never coming, I curled up into a ball in the middle of the room. The days I spent with you won't return I recall them like they are a revolving lantern What you gave me, one by one Became the sustenance for me to live My hands balled into fists as the gas swirled around me, and I could already feel myself getting light headed. I tried to resist, but I began seeing things, and knew that I was seeing my final destination. Nearby weeds whirling in darkness A beautiful flower blooms We lived in different worlds But I desperately stretched out my hand As I continued to think of him, my heart began to burn with a new resolve. My eyes shot open, and I made a quick prayer to the gods, which I hoped would be heard in time. 'Please, God... let me talk to him... once more... before I die...' Please, if this is the end Let me speak with that boy In that small, dark room that was closed Only that pained voice resounds My eyes began to grow heavy, my breathing becoming laboured. The entire room was now filled with the deadly gas. Tears stang my eyes. Whether from grief or the gas, I was not certain, but it was then which I realised, my wish wouldn't be granted. When I realised this, I let out a loud scream. My chest and breathing Are in pain... Still, I at least would have... Liked to have known just... "Please..." I choked out, vision fading rapidly. "...tell me... your..." Sweet, eternal slumber took hold of me, and my life came to an end, as I was able to say my last word. "...name..." Your name... The End

As the sandstorm continued to whip around the arena, Jasmine showed her determination. "Now, Steelix!" she called. "Iron Tail!" The massive Pokemon complied, tail glowing brightly, before swinging it down at the approaching Pokemon. However, even with all that power, Cynder was coming in way too fast, and the flames only intensified its attack. Steelix stood no chance against the attack, and crashed to the ground, knocked out. Jasmine gave a smile and recalled her Pokemon, giving words of encouragement. Turning back to Ethan, her smile widened as she held out the Mineral Badge, the raven-haired teen's newest prize.
-
Len's smile widened slightly, and it was evident that there was sincerity within it. Deep inside, he was still hurting, and his dark secret continued to eat away at him. "I should..." he began. "...go. I've imposed on you for too long already."
-
"Thank you..." Len's religiously quiet voice suddenly spoke up. "You saved my life... twice..."
-
A rumbling noise was heard from underground, before Steelix suddenly came shooting up from underneath Cynder. ----- "Well..." the red-haired teen mumbled. "I guess we should head out. We've lots of training to do. We'll train for a while in Mt. Mortar... then head back to Goldenrod City. Come, Snappy." Walking towards the door, Silver glanced back, watching as Snappy vacantly began walking behind him. What's... wrong with you?
-
Getting to his feet, Len glanced around the room. His lips were still forming a small smile, though there was a lot of pain still evident within it.
-
Jasmine was quick with her reflexes. Anticipating such a move, a grin crossed her face. "Steelix!" she called. "Dig underground!" The steel-snake was quick in following the command, digging underground at lightning fast speed, the flame attack flying over the hole it had made. ----- Silver finally awoke, giving a big yawn. Snappy was awake and seemed to be staring blankly around the room. He's been like that since Ethan brought him back.
-
Another smile found its way onto Len's face, the blond turning back to face Haru once again. "Thanks..." he said softly. "She... my sister... Rin... she did everything for me. She was always there for me, even for my selfish needs. To have lost her, nothing feels right."
-
The battle continued, and despite Jasmine's type disadvantages, she still had some clever moves up her sleeve. The Magnemites were taken care of relatively quickly, but she unveiled her final Pokemon, Steelix. "Go, Steelix!" she called out. "Sandstorm!" The giant Steel Pokemon let out a roar, before whipping up an intense sandstorm.
-
Glancing away, the prince gave a sigh. "I've done many bad things..." he said, shame evident in his voice. "Many terrible things... and lost Rin as a result. I'm a terrible person, undeserving of any kindness."
-
When Ethan had finally made it to her, Jasmine gave a smile. "I would like to thank you for your help at the Lighthouse..." she said in her soft voice. "But this is different. Allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Jasmine, a Gym Leader. I use the... clang! Steel type! Do you know about the Steel type? They are very hard, cold, sharp, and really strong! Um... I'm not lying." Holding a Monster Ball out in front of her, Jasmine gave another smile, before releasing her first Pokemon, a Magnemite.
-
Len gave a sad smile and nodded. "Yes..." he said softly. "Although, I am undeserving of your kindness."
