Shadow Fire

Blinking, Manic suddenly nodded. "I get what you mean. It's hard, when someone you care for just up and leaves like that. I hope he comes back... for your man's sake." With a nod of his own, Sonic placed a hand on Manic's shoulder, before removing it and heading outside to join Light. Manic decided to head inside, but instead of heading to his room, which was still as he left it, he flopped down on the sofa. "Ooh! You're playing that game! Excellent choice, munchkin!" Poor Manic was about to learn the hard way.

Casting a glance over to Light, his expression became a little sad, his ears flattening against his head. "Remember my old frien--oh, wait... you never got to meet him. I had a best friend called Shadow. He was Shade and Light's brother. But, because of something I said to him, he took off." Manic tilted his head to the side. "What'd you say to him that made him decide to leave?" The blue hedgehog lowered his gaze. "I told him... I loved him..."

Turning back to face Manic, the blue hedgehog tilted his head to the side. "I'm happy to see you, man... but I'm curious as to why you're back here. I thought you went to Empire City to make it big." Giving a wider grin, Manic shook his head. "We're all in this together, birds of a feather... and you know the rest. Empire City was way past cool and all, but I realised something while I was away. Home... is where the heart is."

Giving chuckles, combined with cries of protest, Sonic pulled away and grinned at his assailant. "Yeah. It is. Oh... I need to introduce you to someone." Gesturing to the green hedgehog, his grin widened. "This bozo is my brother, Manic. Manic, the young one is Shade, and her big brother is Light, my... boyfriend..." Trailing off, Sonic's cheeks went pink. The green hedgehog raised an eyebrow at him, but merely shrugged. "So what, you're gay? No big deal, bro. He is cute, I'll give you that." Giving a soft chuckle, Sonic smiled over at Light.

Approx $22,000, but I don't pay anything until I earn more than $51,000 a year. I love these student loan things. xD

A couple of hours passed, with Sonic and Light returning inside to watch Shade play games. Suddenly, Sonic blinked as the doorbell rang. Glancing at Light, he shrugged, before getting to his feet. Walking towards the door, he opened it, only to be greeted by a crushing force around his torso. All he could see was green, and a familiar chuckle was heard. "Big bro... it's so good to see you again."

Leaning in, the blue hedgehog smiled and pressed his lips to Light's.

Smile widening, Sonic moved his hands up to his amulet, which became his guitar once again. He began to play softly, singing along. Good times and bad times, I can count on being with you. Sonic merely smiled and pulled away, placing his hands on Light's. "It's alright, my love. I'm... not really ready myself either. I know I usually do things quickly, but this... I need to do right. We should take our time."

Giving a soft purr, Sonic kissed at his love's neck, his arms wrapped around the other's slender frame. "Is it really? What if I were to... start removing your clothes? Teasing your flesh with my tongue? What then?"

The blue hedgehog took his love out to a beautiful rotunda, that had magnificent semi-translucent curtains all around. The inside was laid out like a type of bedroom, having a bed that adorned satin sheets, a couple of bedside tables and some lanterns, which lit up automatically when it became night time, and could be turned off at will. Placing the white hedgehog on the bed, Sonic sat next to him, draping his arms around the younger male. "This is where I went to practice my music. Manic, Sonia and I used this as our rehearsal hall." Giving a nostalgic smile, he glanced sideways at Light, giving a slightly impish grin. "Light... you have me all to yourself now."

So, I've been working a lot lately, but I decided to enrol in a college course, which I start at the end of this month. Once I start it, I'm going to be extraordinarily busy. Not saying I won't have time for this place, because... well, I own it. Me. Myself. Ahem. Anyway, the course I have enrolled in is Diploma of Digital and Interactive Games. Basically, I'm gonna be learning how to make games. Here is the rundown of the course: So, yeah. Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up. Who knows? I may end up working for Nintendo after all. =P

With a smile, Sonic took Light's hand, about to walk away, but looked over his shoulder at Shade. "We'll be back soon. Have fun with the game. If you get hungry or thirsty, there's a lot of stuff in the fridge, so help yourself." Suddenly, he lifted Light bridal style and carried him out to the back of the cottage.

Grinning, Sonic walked inside, heading straight for the living room. Connecting the Zega, he switched the system on, chuckling as he heard the startup sound. "Feel free to pick any game you like." Turning to Light, the blue hedgehog laced his fingers with the other's. "So, my love... what would you like to do?"

Walking towards the door, Sonic opened it, before turning back to face Shade. "Wanna play the Woo again? Or would you like to give the Zega a try?"

The trio reappeared back at Sonic's cottage, the blue hedgehog gave a smile. "Sorry... this was the first place I could think of."

Leaning forward to give his beloved a small kiss, he pulled away to take his hand, as well as reaching down for Shade, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Chaos Control..." With those two words, the three vanished.

Noticing Light's discomfort, the emerald-eyed male leaned in and whispered something he'd never thought to ask before. "Wanna ditch school?"

Draping his arms around his beloved, the blue hedgehog pulled out of the kiss, but had his lips barely paper's width away from the other's. "It's you I love. I will admit, I was devastated that he left, but I got a greater prize." Casting a glance at Shade, Sonic smiled. "You don't need to worry, mun--little one. I will always love Light. One day, I hope to be your big broth--" Sonic was interrupted as the bell rang. Wincing, he glared up at the bell, one of them being above him. "Why is that a thing?"

Recognising Light's expression, Sonic shook his head instantly. "No... you are not a replacement. I fell for you because of who you are. I didn't realize that you were his brother. I noticed the similarities and of course I had wondered if I'd fallen into a parallel dimension or something, but... ah, I'm just gonna shut up and kiss you now, okay?" Without waiting for a response, Sonic leaned in and pressed his lips to his love's.

Sonic flattened his own ears and sighed. "He was my best friend. We were always hanging out and were inseparable. But one day, I realized that I had feelings for him and when I confessed them..." A pained expression came to his face as he recalled the memory. "He didn't take it well. He... he just left..."

Sonic suddenly yelped as he was brought out of the classroom. When they were outside, the blue hedgehog took hold of his love's shoulders and gazed worriedly into his eyes. "What's wrong, Light?"

Sonic let his fingers intertwine with Light's, but he seemed rather distracted. Did my feelings disgust you that much, Shadow? Is that the reason you left me... and your family?

Sonic's face instantly paled to the point where it looked like he had seen a ghost. "I... I see. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up sad memories." Looking down, the blue hedgehog balled his hands into fists, feeling quite uncomfortable all of a sudden. It really isn't a coincidence after all. But... what can I even say to that? It's my fault he left in the first place.

A sad smile broke out on the blue male's lips, and he shook his head. "It's fine. Can you... tell me a little about your brother?"
