Darker colours better suit a sleek design. However, while there would be dark colours, I'm also hoping to have an equal helping of light colours to give it some balance.
-
I was postulating that idea myself actually. I'd like to know how you'd like to see it implemented. Considering what I'd be getting, $400 is actually quite a bargain. Sherri is a veteran at skin styling so I know she'd do us proud. Plus, I kinda want this place to have its own, sleek look... a unique identity.
-
Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of how The Twilight Network skin does it. Bluish background with pale blue text.

To commemorate the upcoming fifth anniversary of The GCN (I can't believe it's been that long already, lol!), I am planning on getting a custom skin made that will be unique to this community. This will give us a more unique persona, as the skins we have installed currently are also in use at other communities. There are of course, a couple of catches: Funding: The cost of having a skin made is approximately US$400. Yes... US$400. I understand that it's a lot of money, but considering the time and effort that will be put into the skin, it will kinda be worth it at the end. Style: For those of you, if any, who like the light-based themes we have installed, I should probably inform you that the skin will most likely be styled using darker colours, to fit the scheme. Time-frame: From the time the deposit is made, it can take a minimum of 1-2 weeks for the skin to be created, and depending on how long it takes to accrue the funds necessary, it may take quite a while longer. Now, I will be accepting suggestions based on what you'd like to see in the upcoming skin, and of course, the donations bar on the side of the forum home page will be updated to reflect the goal completion. So, each donation made will allow the custom order to be made at an earlier time. Now, here is a little bit more information, taken from IBSkin, the company who made the skins currently installed here, and whom I will be submitting the custom skin order to once I am able to afford it. A couple things to be aware of: The GCN logo (as it is currently, unless someone creates a new version that makes me want to have sex with it...) will be featured prominently. The skin will likely be commissioned for IPB 4.0, which will likely be released sometime in the not-too-distant future, considering the progress being made with it. I will not be utilising all of the applications, especially ibProArcade, as it's a broken mess, and is not actively supported. This will likely count as a community project of sorts, as suggestions will be taken, and possibly utilised in the creation of this skin. Once Sherri begins working on the skin, I will definitely keep the community up-to-date with how it is progressing, as well as to receive any feedback as to the direction the project is moving, within the 3 free alterations of course. So yeah... if you wish to provide any suggestions for the design of this skin, please do so in this topic. All suggestions (within reason) will be considered, although if you donate, it will be more than likely that your suggestion will be approved.

Mind, I do not.

If you'd like, bro... you can have the files hosted in the Download system here. I'd be happy to do so.

A lot of you have probably already seen this, but... meh. Skull Kid is a live-action preview of sorts to Majora's Mask, from the Skull Kid's perspective. While it's rather simplistic, I like that they captured the feel of the characters.

The Servants of the Mountain - FFXHD I REALLY cannot wait for this game to be released in English. I'm actually tempted to also buy the JP version.

The Sheikah began walking towards Link, stopping right in front of him. "When the world is dominated by evil..." he said mysteriously. "...the Holy Land will speak out to those within five temples. One in the deep forest... one on the highest mountain... one under the deep lake... one in a house of death... one with the goddess of sand... In the hour of awakening, together with the hero, evil magic will be contained by the light of peace. This is a legend amongst those of the Sheikah tribe. I am Sheik, a survivor of the Sheikah tribe." Link gave a nod, his blue eyes warily focused on the other male's red. Sheik's eyes suddenly smiled, an indication that the Sheikah himself was smiling. "Link..." he continued. "With the holy sword... The Hero of Time's legendary Master Sword. If indeed you believe the legend, you must seek the five temples and in addition, awaken the five sages within. Now, within the Temple of the Forest, a sage awaits the time of awakening... it is a girl you know well. But, because of an evil curse on the temple, it is impossible for her to hear the Holy Land's awakening call. As you are right now, you are not able to enter the temple, but if you believe my words, go to Kakariko Village first. Okay, Link?" With a nod, Link sheathed his blade, and walked into the main chamber of the Temple of Time. A feeling of dread came over him as he took in Sheik's words, and within a few moments, he had placed the Ocarina of Time to his lips and played a familiar song. Saria... I hope you're okay...
-
Link's surroundings began to piece together as the blue light returned him to the Temple of Time. Glancing around at the temple, he noticed that it was dimly lit, much gloomier than its counterpart from seven years prior. He cast a glance up at Navi and gave a soft sigh, before beginning to head off, but as he took a few steps, he suddenly stopped. Someone's here! Drawing the Master Sword from its scabbard, he turned to face his assailant, blinking as he saw a young man with golden blond hair. His clothes were unique, sporting Sheikah design, and covering half of his face. "I was waiting for you..." the mysterious boy murmured. "Hero of Time..."
-
Rauru nodded sagely at Link and gave a slight smile. "Once again, I must remind you..." he said. "Although you opened the Door of Time and came to the Holy Land for the sake of peace in Hyrule, the Gerudo King of Thieves, Ganondorf, invaded. He used his wicked power to enter the Holy Land, and obtained the Triforce from the Temple of Light. His magic erupted from the temples and in seven short years, corrupted the country of Hyrule." Clenching his teeth, Link balled his hands into fists and glared downwards at the ground. I failed... I failed to protect everyone! Rauru, noticing Link's turmoil, placed a hand on the young man's shoulder. "Even in this Holy Land, I possess very little power..." he continued. "Moreso, within this Chamber of Sages. However, there is hope. The remaining power of the Sages dwells within! When the power of the seven sages awaken, the Seal of the Sages will bind the power of evil to the other side... I, Rauru, am also one of the Sages, and... the power to fight alongside the Sages belongs to the Hero of Time, received by the one chosen by the Master Sword! Let my light be yours, and unleash the power of the sages!" Taking his hand away from Link's shoulder, Rauru raised both hands upwards, power manifesting into a gold medallion, which floated down to Link, before manifesting itself within him. The blond suddenly gasped as his vision began to fade away, and he could feel himself get lighter. He could hear the words of the sage call out to him one last time. "Meet the other six, and save Hyrule!"
-
Glancing at himself, Link gasped, realising he was now an adult. W-what's happened to me? Rauru cleared his throat and began to explain. "Long ago..." he began. "...we Sages built the Temple of Time to protect the Holy Land. Herein lies the Chamber of Sages. The Temple of Light is the last bastion of the Holy Land... and the sword you removed from the Pedestal of Time, the Master Sword, was the key to enter the Holy Land. The Master Sword is a holy weapon which is untouchable to those with a wicked heart, and can only be obtained from the Pedestal of Time by the one who qualifies as a hero." The elderly male suddenly shook his head. "But..." he continued. "Brave as you are, you were too young and so, your soul continued to sleep, for seven years. Now, your time of awakening has arrived. Do you understand your destiny?" Having taken everything in, the young man swallowed and nodded.

"Link..." A voice seemed to float out as if from nowhere. "Awaken... the chosen one..." The voice continued to speak. "Link..." His eyes opening, the boy glanced around, his vision beginning to return to normal. However, he noticed that his surroundings were unfamiliar. As he continued to scan his eyes around, he suddenly noticed that he wasn't alone, and he shot his gaze up to see a man in robed clothing looking back at him. "My name... is Rauru."
-
Stepping on the pedestal, as the sword seemed so big, the boy took a breath, his hands braced on the handle, before he pulled, the sword gliding effortlessly from its resting place. A blue light suddenly enveloped him, and suddenly he heard that evil laugh. "Geh heh heh!" the Gerudo taunted. "Excellent work! As I thought, you held the keys to the Door of Time! You have led me to the gates of the Sacred Realm... Yes, I owe it all to the two of you!" As Ganondorf laughed in victory, Link's vision began to white out, and before he lost consciousness, he let out a scream. "KA~ZE~!"
-
Inspecting the sword closely, Link felt strangely drawn to it. Master... Sword... Taking a breath, he reached for the handle.

Netsrac, you sexah. >.> You too, Gumpy. <.< -
Taking a look around, the blond noticed the altar that Zelda had been standing before. Running to it, he remembered what Princess Zelda had asked of him. With a nod, he brought out the Ocarina of Time and began playing the song he had just learned. As he finished playing, the Spiritual Gems suddenly began to levitate away from him, circling above the altar, before lowering onto it. What's going on here? Taking a step back, he suddenly noticed the inscription on the altar. Those with the 3 Gemstones of Spirits, stand here and play the Song of Time with the Ocarina of Time. A bright light began to shine, making Link look upwards. The symbol of the Royal Family that was etched above what could only be the Door of Time began to glow a warm gold. Suddenly, the door began to slide open, granting the children access to the next chamber.
-
The blond sniffled, turning his glance back to look at his female friend. We have to go. Turning back to the lifeless soldier, Link silently saluted, before turning and heading to the Temple of Time. I will ensure that your death was not in vain. Ganondorf will pay.
-
While wandering through town, Link noticed that while people were still going about their business like usual, there was a little bit more urgency towards it. Murmurs about the man riding the black horse were heard, and an uneasy feeling dragged Link to the back alleys. I can feel something terrible happened here, but...-- He came to a stop with a gasp. Before him, a critically wounded Hylian soldier sat, slumped against the wall. Weakly, the soldier glanced up at Link, his eyes going wide. "Unnngh..." the soldier groaned. "You're... the boy from the forest... I-I-I've finally met you... I-I-I have something to t-t-tell you..." Listening, the boy tried his best to hide the emotions that were coursing through him, but in betrayal of his wishes, he still found himself kneeling in front of the soldier and placing a hand gently on his shoulder. His eyes began to tear up, but he continued to listen as the soldier began speaking once again. "Ganondorf, the Gerudo King of Thieves..." the man continued. "...he betrayed our King. Zelda's nanny, Impa, sensed danger and escaped from the castle with our Princess... I tried to stop Ganondorf's men from chasing them... but...The Princess was... waiting for a boy from the forest... that's you... She wanted to give something to you... If you received it from the Princess, hurry... to... the... Tem...ple... of... Time..." Choking out a gasp, the soldier's eyes began to close, and he slumped back against the wall, lifeless. Distressed, Link shook the soldier's shoulder, trying in vain to get him to wake up. The tears began to flow freely from his eyes as he realised that the man before him was dead.
-
Nodding, the blond gestured back towards the castle town, indicating they should head inside. I have a bad feeling...
-
The princess was staring at the altar, her hands clutched to her chest. "Link..." she suddenly murmured, though she didn't look at the boy. "When you hold this ocarina in your hand, I won't be around anymore. I wanted to wait for you, but I couldn't delay any longer. But, at least I could leave you the ocarina and this melody. This will open the Door of Time." Turning around, the princess faced Link, giving a sad smile, before placing a blue ocarina to her lips, the same blue ocarina that Link now possessed. Taking a breath, she played a sad-sounding melody. With a nod, Link put the blue ocarina to his lips, repeating the tune. When he finished, the Ocarina of Time began to sparkle. Suddenly, his vision began to fade, and the form of Zelda smiled a little wider. "Now, Link..." she continued. "Play this song in front of the altar in the Temple of Time. You must protect the Triforce!" Gasping, Link found himself back on Hyrule Field. Glancing around, he noticed Kaze. In his hands, the Ocarina of Time stopped shimmering.

Allow me to correct you. In actuality, a very small amount of Japan used a modified PAL structure, but NTSC was more widely used. The system utilised is similar to PAL games that give you the option of 50 or 60 Hz.

As Link stared at it, the ocarina began to glow, a faraway look appearing in his eyes. Suddenly, he found himself inside a strange temple, though it looked a little hazy. As he looked around, he suddenly gasped. Is that... Princess Zelda?
