Enter the Zone... The Official GCN Advertisement

I plan on doing this at a later date, considering I lack video capture equipment. Also, I am not the only person who can utilise this account. All of the community administrators have access to the account. Yup. -

UpdatedI have updated the first post, to include the revised version of the video. It has changed the music that was from Machinima (which I forgot to change in the first place, lol) and replaced it. See if you can guess its origin. -
'nuff said.

Best wishes, dude. If some day, you return, we will welcome you back.

Me-ow. *hiss* Okay, randomness aside, I may have to get a copy for myself. Never played a Tales game before.

The hedgehog's cheeks became pink, and he finally shied his gaze away from Nights. "S-sorry... I didn't mean to stare..."

First of all, I wanted these community challenges to be retro games that I played/knew about that existed during my childhood. The N64, while epic, is not a retro system. Not yet anyways. Now, there is another, albeit the main reason why I don't wish to use N64 games, and why I have been using games on consoles such as the NES/SNES, and SMS/SMD-GEN. These systems have perfect emulation and don't require an extremely high-end PC to run anywhere near perfectly. N64 emulation tends to be quite choppy, and unstable. While there are people who do have an original N64 console, there are still those who no longer do, and I don't want to put them out. I remember speaking over this with Secant, and he understood my reasoning. The N64 has a lot of great games, but unless there is a magical emulator that runs games perfectly, with no slowdown whatsoever, it will not be feasible to do. However, that said, I will be putting forth some of the more known games of the retro era as future challenges. On another note, N64 ROMs are too large in filesize. From what I gather, tons of people here are able to emulate N64 just fine(actually, almost everyone I see around here), and it most certainly does not require a high-end PC. And I honestly consider N64 retro, since it's now three generations old old has aged quite a lot. Also, you don't have to supply the N64 ROMs, either; everyone here knows where to get them, or may already have them(if it was a challenge for DeathBasket's boss rush like I suggested, it's as simple as providing a download for his patch, because everyone here and their mom, dog, and the atoms that make them up have a copy of the debug ROM). But hey, you seem to have your mind set on this, so okay. I was just trying to help. And out of curiosity, say if someone wanted to hold their own community challenge(for those that want to test people on games of their choosing, too), would that be allowed? Not saying I'll hold one, it just seems like it wouldn't be allowed, and I would like confirmation. Anyways, I need sleep. Night. There's a difference between fine and perfect, my friend. =P Anyway, regardless, if someone wants to hold their own challenge, they can, but only admins and staff can create a topic in this area. It would need to be requested, and would not be an official community challenge. Also, since you feel so strongly about it, I may hold a couple of N64 challenges... but not just yet. =P

Well, there's heaps of contenders now. That's what I like to see. Some good competition. Once it's over, I'll need to calculate overall score based on each of your accomplishments. That will be tricky.

I think what actually has caused it may have been an internet spike when downloading a system update. Ventilation is fine, it hasn't been damaged, and quite frankly, if it was a lemon, it would have been much worse than random freezing. The game it happens most with is Mass Effect, which I believe the PS3 version is quite buggy anyway... even moreso than the PC/360 versions, for which the game was primarily made for. In any case, back to the topic at hand, I still think we should wait before we start condemning a machine which is still under development. If it releases with the same stuff, and doesn't justify itself, only then may we lynch Microsoft.

I never said I wasn't fond of Sony... I just said that I didn't know of any exclusive games that would make me want to get the PS3... and then KH1.5 and FFX/X-2 HD were announced. Heavens, if I wasn't fond of Sony, explain why I have a PS2 and PSP. =P Star Wars, on the other hand, has been something I've NEVER been able to get into. Episode 1 was the only movie I could sit through entirely, and even that was kinda weak.

Yes, but back then, nobody really knew how the device would work though until it was released. For all we know, M$ may decide to scrap some of the more extreme features. For all we know, we could be taking things out of context, and end up finding out it's less extreme than we think it is now. It's still way too early to tell. Like Blunty said in his review, it'll be hard to review until it's actually released, and he has a unit in his paws. Also, the amount of times my week-old, brand new PS3 has frozen... >.>

I just want people to remember the following: RIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACERRRRRRR! ...based on actual Japanese history. ...so, here's this giant enemy crab. [...]attack it's weak point for massive damage. 599 US dollars Yeah, the PS3 had some god-awful reveals and stuff... but it actually is doing quite well now. Just Saiyan...

I'll just drop this down...

A little over a day to go. Don't forget to give it a go, and record your time and score. C'mon, people!

Resonance of Fate actually looks interesting, though sadly, I can't get it over here. It was never released in Australia. ;_; As for the others, provided I can find a copy here (that is affordable, of course...) I may give 'em a try.

Having never played the other Disgaea games, I'm not sure if it'd be wise. The LittleBigPlanet games were something I was considering to begin with. Star Ocean: The Last Hope... I had that on Xbox 360, it was okay. The PS3 release is something I plan on getting anyway, since it is the International Release, and includes Japanese voices. Thanks for reminding me. I have every Assassin's Creed game on Xbox 360, but I'll have to look at some info for the other games... though Star Wars... not really a fan of anything Star Wars. I do love RPGs, so I may have to give it a look at... providing I can find a copy. My brother and sister liked to play that online, they say the servers are closing down for it. As for recommendations, Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, though Dark Souls isn't PS3 exclusive, but still, as well as Tales of Graces. Sounds interesting.

Well, well, well... It seems that in light of the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, as well as Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, I decided to get myself a PS3. I'm actually having fun with it so far, and have the following games: DISC: Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Yes, I do plan on getting FFXIII as well, once I can find it, lol) Mass Effect Trilogy Sony Smash Bros. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale PSN: Alex Kidd in Miracle World Final Fantasy IX Hitman Absolution (PS Plus) I'd like to ask for recommendations for games I should get, but would like to stipulate that first and foremost, I will not be getting any Call of Duty or Sonic titles for the PS3, nor will I get any sports/racing games. With that said, what should I get?

Just over three days to go, people... c'mon... give it a go! If you win, you get a prize... one that I pay for out of my own money.

Doing some research on the URA Zelda Restoration Project...
Shadow Fire replied to CM30's topic in General Gaming
... You know, ramen is 27 cents. You obviously haven't noticed that I live in Australia, land of the mana-spiders, drop-bears, and REALLY EXPENSIVE STUFF. Regardless, I don't know how much things cost in America, I didn't have much to begin with, and I wanted to be safer than sorry. -
Doing some research on the URA Zelda Restoration Project...
Shadow Fire replied to CM30's topic in General Gaming
There is one truth I can confirm... Zeth's family really was involved in a horrific traffic accident. There was never any doubt about it for me. Let's just say, I have my sources, and they were able to confirm it easily. Also, in spite of any fibs he's told in the past, I know for a fact that he wouldn't lie about something as big as that. Family is extremely important to him, and he really was torn up about it. However, let us stray away from that topic itself, and shift the focus back onto URA. When he'd originally said he was going to cancel the project, I thought I had been able to convince him to continue it, even if it meant baby steps. He'd said to the remainder of the group that the project was going to continue, but within mere minutes/hours, he played the "Fuck you! It's cancelled!" card, effectively putting all the work we'd done for it to waste. It was then that I was able to start seeing the childish side to him, and realised I had been blinded to that fact because of my feelings towards him. When I didn't jump to his defence, he saw me as abandoning him. He even turned a couple of our mutual friends against me, with his usual story of him being the victim. I'm not so sure if I've explained to the community just how I've helped him out in time of need. I've had to help him out financially on several occasions. There have been days where (and I know a lot of you won't like this) I have taken from the donations made to The GCN, and sent the funds to him, replacing them out of my own pocket. There have also been several days where I've quite literally starved myself by sending him what little money I had left in my account, just so that he wouldn't starve. Imagine 4 days of work without being able to get yourself something to eat. It's quite draining, lemme tell you that. Whenever he's been upset, I've always stayed awake and tried to help brighten his mood, many times when I am working the next morning. I've stuck by him through good and bad, but the moment I disagree with his decisions, I am abandoning him. Meh.
