Shadow Fire

"Vivi?" the blond murmured, glancing around, before suddenly noticing the sobs he heard was coming from a box. "It IS you! I'll get you out!" Glowing for a moment, he used his daggers to break open the box. Helping the mage up, Zidane stared at him. "Hey..." he said, giving his warm smile. "It's okay now... but... why would they stuff you in a box?"

Glancing off in the direction where the people had taken Vivi, the tailed boy nodded. "Alright..." he agreed. "But I will start trouble if Vivi is in danger... Agreed?"

"Geez!" the blond hissed. "Hey!" Narrowing his eyes at Dagger ever so slightly, Zidane gave a soft sigh. "Okay..." he muttered, calming down. "What is it?"

Sometime later, Zidane and Dagger had gone underground, though Zidane stopped, hiding as he heard voices. Watching a couple of villagers exchanging dialogue, he suddenly clenched his teeth together as they left with Vivi in tow. "Vivi..." he hissed under his breath. "Those bastards..." He made to ambush them, but was stopped.

Sonata of Awakening, eh?

Okay... because I feel like randomly posting this, I am wondering what people are using for their Scarecrow's Song on OOT/3D. So... post your melodies and give an explanation behind them. Mine is: L R Y L R Y A Y Yes, there's no doubt about it. It's the Overture of Wind, to be used in URA. Why did I choose it? Because it's an awesome way to make URA a part of the official, original OOT.

"Don't worry, we'll get you out..." Zidane promised. "We'll hurry, so stay where you are, okay?" Glancing over at Dagger, Zidane gave a nod, indicating he was being truthful in his words.

Noticing a hole in the ground, Zidane walked over to it and knelt beside it. "Vivi!" he called out. "Where are you? Are you underground? Can you move?"

Zidane blinked in surprise. "Vivi?" he said aloud. "Is that you? Where are you?"

Zidane nodded, his expression showing concern. "You're right..." he murmured. "He is late. I'm not worried about Steiner, but Vivi, I'm not so sure about. Let's go look for him." Standing up, he motioned for Dagger to follow him.

Some time later, Zidane was with Dagger in the inn, commenting on how there were no adults around, when usually, there would be. Then, he proceeded to tell Dagger a story, but stopped when he noticed she was distracted. "What's wrong?" he questioned. "Am I boring you?"

Zidane held his hands up defensively. "Geez, you don't have to get mad..." he mumbled. "I'm sorry. I meant to imply that under pressure, you adapted very well. Anyway, we need to decide what to do from here. Will you go back to the inn?"

Zidane gave a thoughtful nod. "Oh yeah..." he murmured. "I thought... you sure knew how to fake it." The blond didn't realise just what he'd sounded like he was implying.

Staring at her for a moment, Zidane pondered aloud. "You're acting strange..." he mumbled, before suddenly blinking. "I get it!!! You changed the way you talk! You're doing great!"

Zidane stared at Dagger's face before giving a smirk. "You got a fever or something?" he chuckled. "Your face is all red."

Glancing around, Zidane headed into the shop across from the inn, suddenly noticing Dagger. "Dagger..." he murmured, glancing over to what she was looking at. "What...?"

"That's the sound chocobos make..." Zidane murmured, before looking at where Vivi was staring and giving a shrug. "Well, I'll see you back at the inn!" Giving his trademark smile, Zidane walked back towards the inn, unaware of just what would happen.

Zidane made to leave, but suddenly he just had to ask Vivi a question. "So..." he began. "What were you staring at?"

Raising an eyebrow, Zidane returned to grinning. "I'm always thinking about girls..." he laughed. "I'm popular with ALL the ladies in Lindblum. Come to me if you have any girl trouble, okay?" He placed a hand gently on Vivi's shoulder.

Confused, the grin faded from Zidane's face. "What?" he asked. "Don't tell me you don't like girls!"

Zidane gave a nod, before suddenly grinning. "Ah, I see..." he chuckled, grinning wider at Vivi's confusion. "You met a girl!"

Zidane gave a toothy grin. "Hey, Vivi..." he said. "What's up?"

Glancing around, Zidane noticed Vivi standing at a stone wall near the windmill. Curious, he walked slowly over to the mage, before coming to a stop beside him.

From within his sleep, Zidane thought he could hear singing. Giving a yawn, he slowly opened his eyes. "I've never heard a song like that before..." he mumbled sleepily. "...was that Dagger singing?" Suddenly, he noticed that he was alone. Standing up, he glanced around. "Oh, everyone's up already..." he murmured. "I wonder where they went?" Jumping up, he put on his shoes and gloves, before heading outside.

The fight seemed grueling, but that only further excited Umbra. He took a little bit of damage, and it felt good to be experiencing everything for himself once more, though he did make a mental note to destroy Morpheel, and that's just what he did. After several minutes, Morpheel finally fell, and the water began to drain from the chamber. "How disappointing... that was a little too easy. Oh well... now for the last piece of this Fused Shadow. Prepare yourself Midna..."
