Beth was shaking a bit more now, not only was that the first time Link ever talked in front of them... he was beyond angry. Colin squeezed his hands together... hopefully Link would be able to calm Diggs down... the way he was crying, he looked like he had been completely broken... and Diggs wasn't one that cried over everything... unlike Ilia. ---- Diggs knelt in front of the cliffside that was by the ladder that would lead up to where the Goron's tribe resided. His fingers were pressed against the dirt, his forehead resting there as he let himself cry... He just wanted to protect the kids... he was around when Beth was born... he helped her take her first steps... saw the toothless grin she had when Sera brought home her baby kitty... to see and hear Beth just moments ago... maybe it was just like the thief once said... like Ilia said... "I'm a freak..." He whispered
-
"Diggs was talking to the Bulbins in the forest before we woke up in that horrible place...! Ilia always said there was something weird about him... he was helping them! It's his fault all this happened!" Beth screeched, shaking in fear. Malo and Talo were keeping their distance, the only one who wasn't freaking out was Colin. Diggs was shaking... she... she thought he... helped them capture them? "B... But I... I wasn't..." For the first in a long time, tears were slipping down his face... he backed away... the ones he fought so hard for... they were scared of him... didn't want him anywhere near him. He turned on his heel, and ran away in the direction of Death Mountain.
-
"Ha ha ha! See, Beth?! I TOLD you Link would save us!" Talo said with a grin. Malo simply rolled his eyes, standing there. Beth seemed to freeze as she noticed Diggs standing there beside Link. The chestnut haired boy blinked, looking a bit concerned. "Beth? What's wrong?" He asked, reaching for her. "KYAAA! Stay away!" She screeched, before hiding behind Link, along with the other kids.
-
"You're okay now...? Oh thank god..." Diggs held the other tightly, obviously shaking a bit from coming back through the adventure just fine only to find that Link had gotten hurt... The door to the shelter opened, as the kids looked outside, noticing everything was normal again... and Link was there.
-
"Link...!" Diggs went over, making sure that his love was alright. The light spirit, known as Eldin, appeared once more, it's wings unfolded and looked at the two boys. "My name is Eldin. I am one of the light spirits of Hyrule. I am the spirit that guards these lands. O great hero chosen by the gods...The dark power you seek lies in the sacred grounds of the proud mountain dwellers. But already those grounds have been defiled, draped in shadow and seeded with evil. You must go to those sacred grounds and cleanse them." It soon began to fade away, as it drapped its wings over itself before vanishing from sight. Diggs frowned, as the older male helped the blonde out of the water.
-
Diggs trailed his paws through a small stream in the midst of the mountain, as he saw a bunch of small dark creatures, as he growled, and slashed at them, whipping his tail at them, as they seemed to implode, as the last tear of light was released, as he seemed glad to see that. The light seemed to surround the area, before the two wolves were transported back to Eldin's spring.
-
Evan blinked, before he gently squeezed the other's shoulder. "Hello, Evan..." Vallewida smiled, tightening the bandages around Guys' arm.
-
Midna appeared by Link's side, knowing that sitting on top of him would be a bad idea with how bad he was hurt, as the three drops of light drifted into the air, but not before some of their light surrounded Link, as some of his injuries seemed to heal up a bit. "Well, that's not good at all, wolf boy... stay still... I can heal you a little better in the twilight than in the light." Midna set her hands on the wolf, allowing a glow to surround him... maybe she couldn't heal him completely, but it would fix his bones enough so he wasn't in pain. ---- Diggs was left standing there in shock as he watched as the Messengers exploded before the twilight particles rushed up towards the sky... he defeated them by himself? How...? He needed an energy field that only a Twilit could create, right...? He looked at his vessel pea pod... he only needed two left... he rushed forward, before jumping at the wall, biting another bug in half as another light tear was absorbed.
-
Evan seemed confused as Belbet said that last part before he noticed the younger male hurrying towards the medical ward, as he rubbed the back of his head before following after him.
-
"Huh! What did you do?! Sorry, but as romantic as this is, I'm not staying in here with you! I'm getting out!" Midna hissed a bit, before she dove into the floor as a shadow, before disappearing. ---- Diggs had managed to collect a few more tears of light, including the ones that had flown to him that obviously came from Link in the village, as his tail frizzed up... Messengers... four of them. "Oh god... I've never fought these guys by myself before... I dun know if I should... should I get Link...?" He stood there, before shaking his head... no, he picked for them to split up, he could handle this by himself. He nodded gently to himself before he leapt off and raced towards them, a glow of red energy seeming to surround him, a challenging howl seeming to escape him as he did.
-
Diggs nodded, as he gently licked the other's face. "Thank you... I'll be back as soon as I can." Midna sighed, as Link bounded off towards the houses, while the older wolf headed off towards Death Mountain, the homes of the Gorons.
-
Evan looked over at Belbet once the roll-call was over, as he gently tugged his shirt. "Do you wanna go check on him?"
-
"Well, monsters are still attacking the village, even without those Messengers around... would it be easier to split up?" Diggs looked over at Link. Midna leaned against Link's ears... she saw the look in his eyes. He wanted to find the bugs as soon as possible.
-
Diggs nuzzled against Link, before continuing through the cellar. They came to a room that had a way they could get out above, scaffholdings around them. "Those should be useful." Midna gave off her cute little giggle, as she helped lead the two wolves out of the cellar, and back outside where more of the insects awaited them.
-
---- "Oh... poor Guys..." A voice cooed, as he was gently cleaning the wounds and what remained of the chocolate mess on the other's lithe frame. Shion was in the medical ward with Vallewida, making sure nothing got infected after what he went through today.
-
Midna looked over as her and Link went into the cellar. Diggs was upset and it was showing in the way he was fighting. Two of the bulbs in the vessel were already filled, and a third bug was trapped in the darker wolf's jaws before he bit it right in half, as it went up in a puff of smoke, before a third light drop was released, and filled up a third. "Pup, you okay?" Diggs looked over at her and Link, his blue eyes seeming a mix of emotions. Sadness. Determination. A tad of anger. "I'll feel better when we get rid of the twilight in this area and save the kids..."
-
Evan rubbed the back of his head. "Haha, I suppose I am... I just worry for you, Belbet, that's all."
-
Diggs gripped the vessel in his teeth, before leaping into the cellar. "Geez! Talk about impatient... better go after him before he does something dumb, wolf boy."
-
Evan looked over at him, seeming a little confused. "Different? How so?"
-
Evan gently held Belbet's hand. "Believe me, Belbet... I don't think he's mad at you."
-
"...Right..." Wanting to help the kids he failed to protect, the chestnut wolf picked up the stick that Barnes had before, and hurried over, and lit the candles one by one, before the statue in the middle of the room moved aside, showing off a passage into the cellar that Renado talked about.
-
A small huff seemed to come from Talo, as Diggs and Link were left watching the kids... Diggs frowned softly... Link was special to everyone, so it made sense that they would believe in him... did they forget about him...? He was always there to help them, right? "These kids knew you'd come to save them! What a hero! How sad, to be right in front of someone and not be noticed at all... Eee hee hee! You are chosen by the gods, and only that keeps you from turning into a spirit, or worse, into a dark monster, when you enter twilight. And no one knows what you have done... You may be doomed to toil in obscurity forever... You're the type to worry about everything, I can tell...but don't fret over Princess Zelda! She chose this state of affairs, after all... Anyway, what's with having to light candles to get to the basement?! Not very subtle, is it... So, what are you going to do now? My lonely little hero... Eee hee!"
-
"Cripes! I don't see those black brutes anywhere... They've gotta be hidin' somewhere, waitin' for their helpless little prey to come out! Then they'll FEAST!" "We are safe as long as we remain in here, child. Be at ease." "Oh yeah? I wonder if the monsters out there agree with you... They sure didn't seem impressed by my bombs! How long do you think we can hold this sanctuary against beasts that strong, huh? Once they attack, it's OVER!Remember that lady from the general store? Just one of those things attacked her, and a whole gang from town went to save her!And what happened? She was already gone, and there were TWO monsters waitin'!...You connectin' the dots? That means that if we get attacked by them, then we'll be... Beth was shivering amongst all of Barnes' talk about what happened in the village after the Twilight took over. All of the children were beginning to become more fearful than before... Renado was finally getting tired of it, as he glared over at the pudgey man. "BARNES!" A small huff seemed to escape him, as Beth broke out into tears, as he brought his helmet over his eyes. "Look, Renado... All I mean to say is that it's risky here, too! Ain't you got some place we can hide?" "There is...a cellar." "WHAAT? You've got a CELLAR?! Where's the entrance, man?" "The entrance to the cellar is designed to open when all of the candles have been lit..." Barnes grabbed it, and crawled over, lighting the light in the middle, before he fell over.
-
"It's almost roll call... he'll be back... Belbet..."
-
"Agh... I almost twisted something... that's the last time we follow Midna onto a roof..." Diggs looked over, seeing one single soul fire over in the corner, before looking over, finding a bunch were gathered over by a small stone seat. Diggs narrowed his eyes, honing his senses, before his eyes widened. "L...Link... I think you need to see this..."
