So I've got a good plot/story for a mod, but the story I've thought of requires me to do a complete over-hall of the game (that means all new Maps, OBJ, NPC's, ext...) . Now, I know the question may sound a little silly, since I already know that the key apps to starting this mod are SharpOcarina and Hylian Toolbox, but from what I've seen with other moders is that you are always going to hit some kinda error somewhere with in the development of the mod. So my real question would be more like, "What should I do to start my mod with the least amount of errors or problems as possible?"

My favorite was Qui-gon Jinn, he was one of the most level headed and smartest Jedi, well, other than Yoda.

I think DeathBasket said most of whats needed to be added, and also, I agree with Giadrosich, a tutorial is much needed. When I first started using SharpOcarina, I was so confused on how to use it, I had to ask (you)/xdan how to use it. ( but that was just me jumping the gun, I didn't even read the "ReadMe" ) But hears the thing tho. When newbies come to the GCN and want to mod, there going to look for something easy, (most likely not a hex editor) and when they see downloads to apps that are made for modding, there going to think its going to work like a charm. That is until they see a "XML" and a ".obj" file names, and then there going to say "WTF are those" The program dont really tell you that you need a whole other 3D program to actually make the rooms to actually make the ".obj" for SharpOcarina. So the newbie just downloaded a app that is useless until he/she either finds Sketch-up or some other 3D program, which I dont think is even mentioned in the "ReadMe"(correct me if I'm wrong on that one) but even if they manege to get Sketchup there's also the problem of finding a free exporting ".obj" plugin. So hears my suggestion, what if you could put Sketchup like control's in it. That why the user could just make what they want on the spot and then edit/make the climate, and then just insert into rom. It would be much simpler for new users.

* I walk in, jester hat on, and a Gatling gun loaded, with a big grin* "Too late guys, THE KINGSHIP IS MINE!!!" * start blasting everybody, as Easter bunny's start poring out of the barrel of my gun. A bunny in everybody's face, being shot at 70mph. bunny's go everywhere.* I AM THE KING OF FOOLS!!!, FOOLS!!! XD

All right guys, I think we need our Shout Box back, now I tried using my new Admin powers, but there just too weak to do any thing (I need more time to develop them ) So then I tried my Jedi powers, but only to manege to git a migraine. So then I tried some Tie-Chi, but to only fail once again by drop kicking my monitor into a trillion peaces( wasn't a very wise thing to do) but I felt it was necessary at the time As my conclusion, Admin powers dont work (yet), using the Force gives you massive headaches, And using Tie-Chi the wrong why (thinking it can solve all you problems) can end you up paying for a new monitor.

NO, you are both wrong, I am the King of Fools, for only the foolish thinks he can out do the staff members, and with my refined new Admin ability's, I will do just that, because I'm just that kind of fool!!! XD

WTF Guys, I think I my have just entered some alter-net dimensional Twilight Zone.

I personally think this is a great idea, if you could combined all the zelda editors into one, it would make zelda hacking much easier, no more going back and forth looking for which editor dose this or that. It would be really awesome if it had a setting that already had every obj, zmap and all the other data already in it, that way, you could just edit all these things and when your done you could just compress it into a rom. (just a idea though) Just wondering, has there been any cut-seen app made?

Well that's good to know. I'll be doing some thing like that when I get a better computer in a few months. ya, when I first started playing LoZ OoT when I was a kid I didn't know it was called the jump attack, So I started calling it the Super-Wop and it just kinda staid that way for me.

But could you replace moves. like for instance (dont laugh, I've allway's called it this) the Super-Wop ( that's the move when you Z-target when your swords out and press the A button to do x2 the dam..) could I replace that move entirely with the same motion, but just with a different animation, like with some sideways air spin attack or some thing like that. Could that be possible?
