Okay, unfortunate news. We won't be able to have custom music in the mod due to some issues with parts of the music not being compatible with the Zelda instruments. BUT! We will be releasing a patch when the music is fixed, that way if people would like to hear the awesome songs my composers created, you'll be able to do that. I will also be releasing the songs to listen to that way you can appreciate their hard work. I apologize to everyone who did expect custom songs, but we need a bit more time on that. I refuse to push the whole thing back though, so I'll be releasing the main mod May 1st as I've said. You guys need something to play to get your minds off recent events, and I think this mod will deliver. I hope everyone understands.

I just did a really quick test on debug rom with the 8GB, and the golden gauntlets rock still disappears really fast when you go in and out of the doors. Not sure if this information is useful to anyone, but I'd not tried it on debug before.
-
I might be wrong, so apologies if I am. Someone else can confirm or deny.

The game isn't compatible with the expansion pak, I think only DK64 and MM used it (off the top of my head). Even if it is plugged in, I don't think it does anything.

You can really notice the memory thing in Ganon's Castle when you go in and out of the trial doors. The game duplicates the beams at the top, and the more times you go in and out, it has to free up memory to duplicate them, so enemies and objects actually start to disappear on you. This can be done on any version of the game.

Confirmed and complete! Just waiting on music confirmation now. It uses Deathbasket's text tool, and I just edit it in notepad to keep it simple. Very easy and efficient program--I've had no issues with it at all. The only thing about translating is you have to make sure to keep it within the text boxes. Text boxes can only take up to four lines, so depending on the difference in length, it could be an issue with translating the story. If in the future you do want to take a crack at it though, let me know!

Just wanted to let folks know that I'm going to release the Setting Up guide later tonight for the mod which will go over how to patch, and what emulator settings to use, that way if you want to set things up a little early. Based on the feedback I get from the website in my email, I have a lot of interest from folks who haven't heard of emulators or roms, so the how-to will assume you know nothing. Apologies to those who do know. Sneak preview: One of my testers does a lot of TASing in his spare time, so he's going to be making a TAS video for me just to sort of bring interest to the speedrun community for the mod. This video will be shown off in the guide. On a side note, I'm in GA right now at my grandma's house. I don't have access to wireless, so I'm pretty much switching which computer is hardwired into the internet. She pitches a big fit when any settings on her computer is changed, so I'm gonna be trying to get stuff done on a limited internet for the first part of the day. x.x So yep, VoT will be released from my grandma's house. XD I always think it's a little funny when I say that.

I wanted to give a midnight release for early birds, but not sure how that's gonna turn out. I don't have a specific time-frame right now, just when everything gets together--I'm really just waiting on my music team at this point, and hopefully we'll do the last-minute-panic-dance and get everything done. XD But it WILL be out tomorrow, imported music or not.

The Legend of Zelda: Darkness of Time

You have some very interesting ideas here. I like them. Now, I don't want to be the bad guy, so please don't take what I say the wrong way. Like I said, your ideas are awesome. I do, however, want to give some advice. I was in your position four months ago--I didn't know where to start with my mod. I had these grand visions of an awesome mod with all these things I wanted to implement. I was frustrated by the lack of tutorials, and sort of set out on this mission to create a pathway for newbies like me who don't want to dig through tons and tons of forum posts (ah, those were the days--NOT). Sairugoth linked you to the newbie/tutorial page, and I really suggest digging into that and taking a big bite--this is where you learn what you can do. Start out by practicing little things. Rather than take everything on at one time (it will be tempting, but take a deep breath) and hitting a brick wall, try out your skills in the different areas. Try messing with things, seeing what does what. You learn better by doing, I always say, this is why I have tutorials that you can follow along with. Try making a simple map first instead of a massive map, that way you can go through the motions of how to do things. You'll also learn how to do things more efficiently by starting out with simple things. Example: Rather than spend your time on changing actors in an entire room, start by changing just one first. This will let your brain know if you've done it right, and that way you can move on to the bigger stuff. I hope I haven't come off as a buzzkill, I just would hate to see your mod hit a brick wall due to frustrations. And that's another thing--don't get frustrated. We're all here to help each other out, and the tutorial thread is there to ask questions. There are no stupid questions, believe me. -
Hey, you were the first person to teach me how to do anything with modding! You taught me how to decompress a rom! That was big stuff back then, I was so proud of that (still am, too!). And you made ZAP2 click for me, which really made the mod take off.

Oh, lord, I'm not making new dungeons. O.O Just changing a little bit of the older ones, sorry if that wasn't made clear. D: This mod concetrates on storyline and route changes Thanks for the support, everyone!
-
Sorry it won't be as expansive as URA, but I've done everything to the best of my abilities thus far, so I'm really hoping people enjoy it. Off topic: Oh, lord, drove almost 13 hours today to Georgia. I'm sore. x.x

The terrain is indeed odd with the vertices finding. It's hard to see what one is highlighting, and you could be hitting + or - for a long time before you find what to change. I'm not sure how to use ZLE2 properly too, even though you might change the texture stuff, how do you get collision? Ah well, that's for another topic and the next thing to learn after my mod releases.
-
Okay, cool, I shall hold off then.
-
I'll put a link to this in tutorials thread for folks until a wiki page is made for it.
-
Might have to do that manually with Sayaka. :/
-
I knew I had this bookmarked somewhere. http://spinout182.com/mqd/f.html Is this it? It lists all the rooms, anyway.
-
Thanks for the offer, but I did get contacted by to Coool who's trying it out. They are in Midi format, but we've run into an instrument problem which will be fixed by Animatix. So, custom music is looking to be a reality! Frantic movement behind the scenes to get this all set up and ready to go for May 1st, that's for sure!

Funky. Does that mean there's no way to get Brownie to Hyrule Field? And even if one did, I assume it would disapear once you win Epona.

Post any screenshot of Zelda models, dungeons or mods you´ve done.

A sad building compared to the awesome above this post. But this was one of my first buildings I made with sketchup. -

Yes, I had emulator problems though, it sucked. My computer couldn't handle Nemu and Xsplit running at the same time. Slightly embarrassing. :/ -
I'm intrigued by Epona and the brown horse at the ranch. When doing research to see if I could have people use both Epona and Brownie (as I dubbed it--so original), I couldn't find a separate actor/variable for it. It seemed to be Epona while being a regular horse at the same time. Now I see here that someone put the Gerudo saddle on Epona...is there any way to get to use the Brown horse outside of the ranch? Also, this list is good, but I think the Razor Sword patch has a weird glitch in it from what I remember trying it out.

I'm now dismayed to know where your icon came from. And now I will always think of this comic when I see your icon. Thank you.

Your opinion on no Nintendo E3 press conference?
giadrosich replied to xdaniel's topic in General Gaming
They should just compromise and make Zelda COD. *gets shot*
