  1. Oh, goodness that's awesome! It's very shiny! More than I could do if I was just messin' around. XD I like it, but I need it a tiny bit smaller to display at the top if that can be managed. I like that logo though, especially with the time travel emphasis.
  2. Really awesome breakthrough with the game! Due to Three_Pendants hard work, I now have the ability to actually go back in time immediately after arriving! Don't have to complete the Forest Temple straight away! Now, I'm just going to post exactly how to do this and what he's said so people can use the knowledge if they need it. Three_Pendants: So thank to him, I have the ability to continue with my vision for this mod as planned! Great job and thanks so much!
  3. Okay, keep in mind that I'm really new to all this. I need a direct step-by-step tutorial on how to do this. I have an idea that I'd like to see be pulled off, but I need some help doing so. But I need to figure out how to change what scene you go into. As simple and concise as possible. Please...don't link me to a page of numbers, because I won't get it. x.x When you go from Hyrule Field to Lon Lon Ranch, I would like to be able to go to a different place. Like...for example...Gerudo Valley. How can one do this? I own ZAP2, ZLE2, SayakaGL. Utility of Time does not work with my computer, it doesn't save any sort of changes I make. So that tool is sort of out of the question.
  4. Frankly, I'm not getting my hopes up for any changes. Sure, I'd LIKE changes...but...looking at the treatment other games have gotten with a remake (oot3d was a massive opportunity to add stuff, and all they did was fix glitches and making terrible new ones appear--Adult Link in Jabu-Jabu anyone?). Tingle Tuner has got to be a must with the gamepad though. Really, just package Tingle's Freshly Picked Rupee game with it and It'll be worth it.
  5. Mine is actually a glitch that happened in the rom, was walking through lost woods tunnel and just suddenly disco colours and Link froze up. It was amazing.
  6. Brand new sidequest sneak-peek! Trying to involve the NPCs a bit more, so keep an eye out for any troubles people might have! You might get a nice reward for helping out.

  8. The text file that's produced when you extract the text from the rom, and it should save it as msg_bank as default. Be sure to type the .txt part or it won't work.
  9. Picture update! Yep...need something to get in here. Link wonders what too. Because sometimes you just have to have fun. Sheik explains patiently what his/her purpose is. This was a result of going into the chamber with the sword on the first file. Made me lol.

  11. Hmm. Weird. I assume you extracted it correctly, right? Can you put up a link to your txt file so I can look at it?
  12. I wouldn't go THAT far--I can't even change the dungeons around properly, just add a different puzzle here and there. Sure, I'll get in contact with you Thanks for the offer!

Just go to the OOT text tool command thing and it should tell you to press "i" for injecting it into the ROM, at that point just type the text file (mine is msg_bank.txt) and then it'll ask you the rom file name, and then it'll ask if it's debug rom or not. It'll have to be debug to work, from what I remember, not sure. At that point, wait for the "done" message, press enter, and there ya go.
  14. ZLE2 has a read-me/instructions file explaining how to dump and edit textures. I haven't messed around too much with it myself, but I hope to put a tutorial on it one day. But with your more advance skills, you might have better luck with it. ZLE2 and ZAP2 are really easy programs to use when you get the hang of it. I do have a ZAP2 tutorial in my video tutorial thread if you want to check that program out. I've learned to ditch Scroll of Time, use http://www.the-gcn.com/files/file/47-oot-text-tool/. If you don't want to bother with it, like I said I'd be happy to help you out with text woes. Can add me on skype if you need to--just check my profile for the username.
  15. Welcome to me (a glitcher) looking in on the modding community. Interesting. But confusing.
  16. I don't know if you watch speedruns at all or keep up with glitching, but http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/oot/ has some interesting documentation on their findings. They usually complete the game with only spirit/shadow, so it might be a combination of both looking for the items as well as flags. RBA allows them to write whatever value they want to the C button, so there is a run where they write light arrows and such. I can't say I understand any of it, but you might find it interesting. Apologies if you already know.

Turns out there was a coding for <wait> where it wasn't supposed to be. I'll be using this from now on. Everything is fixed and perfect.
  18. No it was a literal picture freeze. The sound would continue, but it would just freeze up. I think I might have found the problem, but I've ended his speech prematurely. I did get a softlock where stuff was still moving but he wouldn't continue speaking one time either. Not sure what caused that, but I must have fixed it. I closed out the speech with 0B 02 after he reads the letter and he opens the gate just fine. But I'd like him to say a bit more. I'll have to keep messing with it. As for him speaking Impa's text, I think that was the matter of the box not being closed properly. I think I'm going to have to ditch scroll of time because it continues to cause problems for me like this. He would say half of his line, then it would load Impa's text saying she taught the lullaby to the princess since she was a baby. Just doing some quick editing, I've tried ending it with the 04 1A which leads to a freeze, I've tried just 02, and he ends the speech, but does not open the gate. The only thing that seems to get him to open the gate is the 0b 02, but there's still a box or two left in that speech tree. He still says everything after opening the gate though.
  19. Guh, now I'm getting a freeze at the guard to death mountain for some reason. Either he's loading up Impa's text or he's just freezing outright, I don't understand it. I am using file 2 for testing all this. After his part of reading Zelda's Letter, the whole game just freezes, and I'm not sure why. The text box ends with the usual 04 1A.
  20. Pretty good programming in OOT? The game where they only require shadow/spirit check for completing the game?! Just kinda weird they'd pay attention to the shield thing and not major things like that. XD
  21. I suppose that makes sense, because we have all the items anyway. Hmm. But then if we enter the Temple of Time, should it have the "zelda captured" scene show up because we have the spirit/shadow medallions?
  22. Deku nuts are the best way to beat dark link, he actually just locks off of you and starts into your idle animations. If you go in with like half a heart or so, you can kill him in one good hit that way.
  23. Got some more stuff done today, mainly concentrating on putting an unexpected route through dungeons and such. The focus is going to be getting items, and having to use them as either adult or child. I don't want to give it all away, but as an example: I'll be having you go visit Darunia. Well, turns out all the bomb flowers have died and there's no way to open up Dodongo's Cavern. A few hints later, you go forward in time where you find your bomb bags, go back and then finish up the cavern, getting another item that you either can or can't use. So pretty much my dungeon modifications are done with, and now it is solely text work. New picture! Hmm...how are we gonna get in?
  24. Oh, thank you so much, I agonized over that hex coding seeing what I could have possibly done. You seem to know all the best answers! I'm always terrified I'm going to mess up the rom somehow to a state where I can't recover, I swear I keep like 5 backup copies.
  25. I'm sorry if I'm always asking questions and annoying people.... I'm having a problem with Darunia, it's loading the last bit of his phrasing, skipping everything before it. I've looked into the hex editor at a clean copy vs. my edited copy and I don't see a difference. I've deleted the file on the rom and started it fresh, but it still does the same thing. I have to open the door with Zelda's Lullaby to talk to him, but when I do, he just loads up his "after talk" text. Example: Clean Rom: "Destroy the monsters in Dodongo's Cavern and become a real man! Then we can talk about the Spiritual Stone!" My Text Edit Rom: "Go to the Temple of Time and pull the Master Sword from its pedestal!" Picture of side by side coding: NOTE: Left is Clean Copy. Right is Edited Copy. Start of dialogue. This is what should load. Ending dialogue that always loads first without anything else. I don't see any sort of difference with the coding. The only thing I can think of is maybe the bigger space in the edited rom? Would that affect it anyway? I don't usually have a problem spotting differences with the hex editing, but this one I'm at a loss.
