  1. Now that the project name has been revealed, I'd like to share the first piece of music I composed when I joined the Antiqua team. I'd like to assure everyone (as other people have done already) that the other project members and I really do care about what we're doing with this mod. The name has a particularly strong connection with this short track (at least in my mind). Fall of Antiqua EDIT apologies for not looping, I only have around 2 minutes left on my soundcloud account, I haven't upgraded to pro membership yet, but it's on my to do list.
  2. Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime would be amazing in HD. The only problem I see with Mario is that it makes use of the analogue triggers on the GC pad for FLUDD. For WW, I agree with Spire. I'm massively nostalgic about WW, but it looks miles better in HD. It's not like the OoT3D graphics, which were completely changed - it's just been given a bit of new life with pretty lighting and updated features.
  3. Also, sorry for double post. I think this backs up a point I made previously (even if my predictions appear to be wrong)
  4. I thought this thread was about something called "gay tripping" and came to ask what that was. The actual tripping sounds much worse, though.
  5. Here's my two cents.I've not actually spoken to members of the mod for quite a while (a number of weeks, actually), but when I did, there's still life in the project. Barely, but it's there. I trust that work on FoA is happening, even if only in small ways at the moment. The people on the team (past and present) are very passionate about what they do and I can honestly say I don't think this is the case. If it is, then I can pretty much guarantee someone on the team will say something right away.
  6. I particularly enjoy the Soul Calibur weapons, I'm a sucker for that game haha. Looks good!
  7. I just bought this week's humble bundle, but already had one of the games, so I figured I'd give it away. But that's no fun, so let's play a game!If it goes well, I might do something like this again (stuff like this is fun haha)So, for your chance to win a steam code for The Showdown Effect, post a screenshot from any of your projects. That's it.I'll run it like a raffle from there. Everyone who enters will be put into the raffle and I'll draw the prize randomly.I will announce the winner on Wednesday at 9pm GMTGood luck, everyone!
  8. Maybe you would all know me better as Faceless64, I didn't really broadcast my name change as well as I should (or at all, haha)
  9. Oh, this is most certainly real! hahaEdit - Although looking at how I wrote it, I can see how it could be seen as a bot, haha. (See 100 posts)
  10. I just discovered an amazing free string plugin that you can use with Kontakt, so I whipped up a short demo to show off what it can do. The strings in the calm section in the second half are exclusively Intimate Strings Lite, which can be found here (http://embertone.com/freebies/intstrings-lite.php) for FREE. I was amazed at how good the plugin sounded (considering it's 100% free), so I just had to let you all know haha! Here's the demo
  11. I think it's a great idea. The 3D function on the 3DS isn't suitable for young kids, so providing a cheaper model that kids can use is a perfect move by Nintendo. Also, still for kids, the new shape is very child-friendly, like a lot of those kiddie tablets that are going around (even if I think those are dumb).I can't see the practicality in the new shape for adults, though. I certainly wouldn't want to take up more space in my bag when I'm going into university or something.
  12. Veil of MayaEclipseFull album Marc Okubo is king of riffs, I swear.
  13. So stoked for the final few episodes, it's getting so intense! here's something interesting...
  14. Anyone play this?Me and some buddies are on pretty regularly if anyone wants to tag along. Let's do some sky pirating!
  15. The simple reason why there's not is the demographic that Nintendo are aiming at. They don't want Zelda to be rated mature.I know what you're thinking - "a little bit of blood doesn't make it mature" - but combine that with the complex themes and dark stories that Zelda has and it's no longer for kiddies in the eyes of the ratings boards.
  16. Nintendo should put all of their effort into handheld gaming and make the best goddamn handheld console anyone's ever seen. If anyone can do it, it's Nintendo.
  17. Wow, I'm a strangely prolific drunk, haha!I think you guys have summed it all up pretty well, gaming used to be about playing with your friends, all limited to the small space that your controllers could reach. Nostalgia definitely makes looking back and playing old games better, in my opinion, but I still experience nostalgia from modern games. A great example would be Halo Reach and it's multiplayer. My best friend and I used to set up two TVs next to each other so we could play properly, it was really cool! I guess that's just our old school gamer instincts telling us we need to be in the same room, but hell, it was awesome haha.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLaYWyBAanw Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts - banjo landamazing.
  19. I recently picked up a copy of Chrono Trigger on the Wii's Virtual Console and it's really got me thinking about the state of the modern gaming scene.I haven't finished it yet, but it's already one of the most fantastic games I've ever played. The gameplay is amazing, but what truely makes it shine is it's emotional story, it's gorgeous art style and it's strong character designs.I literally just reached and I've not been left so awestruck by a game in a long time. The lush visuals and the great soundtrack blew me away. After a lot of thought, I think it must be the lack of preparation for it. It's out of the blue - literally. It's a feeling that I've only experienced twice in recent gaming history, once by Shadow of The Colossus and again by Journey, which are two of the greatest games I've ever layed eyes on.The reason I'm posting about this is because I think it's sad that the youth of today grow up playing absolute garbage (at least the majority). I can look back at my childhood with fond memories of Sonic the Hedgehog on my megadrive, or going to my neighbors to play Street Fighter 2. I can reminisce in memories of playing Ocarina of Time with a group of friends, all too scared to step into the shadow temple. What will the kids of today look back on when they're in their 20s, or beyond? Call of Duty? League of Legends?Don't get me wrong, I can see the good things about modern games. Amazing graphics for one. Even games like CoD have their perks (heh, get it?). But I have a genuinely sickening feeling that kids these days don't experience the thrill of playing games with friends, together in the same room. Not even co-op, but just experiencing something amazing, like Majora's Mask or the fantastic moments in Chrono Trigger. It's been a long night, I've had quite a bit to drink, thank you for reading my thoughts.I leave you with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NUrIGAMT3M
