Nah it's not the CRC because the game loads up and plays, it's just that every time I go to room 117 it crashes.

That's because you would have to change that music like you would the music that plays in the background of an area like in Hyrule Field The music value for that is "49" Song of Storms. http://wiki.spinout182.com/w/Zelda_64:_OoT_Music_Values I know you've been gone a while, but hopefully this will help once you get back.

What could/should/would Nintendo do to save themselves?
HeavyZ replied to I M Evil's topic in General Gaming
I don't doubt at all that you're not the only one who feels that way, but from what Eiji Aonuma said in an interview it seems that the Zelda series is going to change a good deal. At least in this one game, and if more like it than not those same changes are likely to stay for most of the later installments of the franchise. Personally I would like the change though how much it's going to be changed in this new game exactly hasn't been said. I don't want it to stray too far from what it has been. I doubt it will either knowing how Nintendo has handled Mario. -

@ DeathBasket Skyrim has a level up system that has the monsters get harder every 10 levels you gain, so I don't see where that would be a problem if they used a similar concept. I feel that some of your opinions may be based on the fact that you like speed running, and level grinding doesn't seem very good for that. They could do without the timed puzzles, besides ALTTP had the Pegasus Boots, so there would be no need to make it that you run faster by leveling up, merely making it an obtainable item would work. As highly acclaimed as Skyrim is I don't see where taking idea's like that would be bad, I like leveling up, and I like challenges, and also working towards making the game easier for later. As long as it's challenging to gain either the lvls or items that make it easier later. @Xdan Yeah everyone who already likes Zelda would like darker themes, but if it had light cursing and it was a little more violent then people outside of the Nintendo fanbase would see and say "Oh maybe this isn't such a kids game". Every other game you slice an enemy with your sword, and you shoot them with an arrow, but there's no blood. I can't help but think people would see that and get the impression that it was made with kids in mind. Thus thinking it is a kids game. I think Skyward Sword had a dark concept here, or there, and it could have been better than Twilight Princess if they didn't have that stupid look for the Bokoblins. That dumb stupid jungle beat music every time an enemy approached, if they had a darker art style, and different music only in certain areas though, a lot of music was excellent. Less kiddie actor designs. I mean I like Skyward Sword a lot, I don't hate what they did with the art style, but a lot of things they did making the game drove a lot of people either away from it, or caused them not to like it that much. -

I believe you're right about all of that, though I can fact check later and edit this post. I believe they had someone else develope the 3rd Metroid Prime though. Though let's try not to throw this thread off topic. -

Yeah sort of like how Ninja Gaiden for Xbox was, the theme was revenge. I like, I love light hearted games, and anime's, but it is time for a change in Zelda. The new one supposedly being highly influenced by Skyrim sounds pretty good. I hope you have the option of picking locks, breaking into homes, and stealing stuff. Killing guards, resisting arrest lol... Well it's not likely at all that the killing the guards part would make it in, but yeah. I got a feeling it's going to be like a Twilight Princess/Fable mix of gameplay, with an open world like Skyrim, and tons of sidequest. I don't know if they would go as far as to introduce a new level up system, but that would be awesome. If Nintendo did all of these things, they wouldn't be loved by just the hardcore Nintendo fans any longer, their audience would broaden. Edited: @Antidote, I didn't know, I had read a while back that they gave the project to a 3rd party or something, while overlooking and directing this or that. Taking your word and saying you're right, I guess that the 3rd party they spoke of was really like what you said -

I wouldn't be against that idea. The less consoles I have to buy the better. I think Sony and Xbox would do well enough pushing for better competing against each other. Maybe it would make Nintendo think about a few things they should have done better.. like I dunno provide the best graphics possible in their games? @Bobo Yes they should stop trying to make it so kid friendly, I mean I couldn't say that an "M" rated Mario game would be suitable, but a darker tone for a new Mario series would be nice. We could afford to see a little bloodshed in Zelda as well, we've seen Ganon be impaled, but no blood? the most we got was when Link delivered the final blow against Ganon in OoT, and I think that was green blood? I'd vote for a villain, or two actually using some light cursing as well, I mean I don't want them saying "Fuck", or "Shit" but the words "Dammit" or "Bastard" wouldn't really be crossing the line. Let's not forget, while it wasn't made by Nintendo themselves the Metroid Prime series was pretty dark. I mean Super Metroid had a dark atmosphere, but it didn't show dead space soldiers, and corpses. -
I've found that Katamari Damacy has the perfect soundtrack to listen too while modding Zelda http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_T16wbFx_k&list=PLA2154335B6EAAAB6

Going to play it a little later tonight, it looks awesome from what I seen. Edited: It's not N64 compatible for some reason. Probably the textures you used. Idk, I'm not experienced in making custom maps, I doubt it was SceneNavi either, though it could be.

I think it's the economy, and the prices of the WiiU are really keeping it from being sold to the potential it could, people don't have the money to buy whatever these days. Given the choice most people are probably going to go with the PS4, or new Xbox. the new Xbox sales being questionable considering what they did to themselves at E3 and how badly burnt they got by Sony lol. If Nintendo did what the majority of the gaming community wanted, if they listened more, instead of gambling on their own idea's so much they wouldn't be in the situation they are in. The WiiU has good graphics, but there are still pros and cons to owning a game on the WiiU, instead of on an Xbox360. That's without taking online gaming into question too, which is pretty bad considering WiiU is New Gen, and Xbox360 isn't far from quitting and moving on to the new Xbox. The WiiU is nice and all, I'm definitely going to buy one, but if it had the specs to keep up with the newer gen consoles that are going to be released to compete with it, then more people would buy it. People want more than what it has to offer, and so do game developers. That's why the first Wii didn't do so well, it had good idea's backed behind it, and they could have produced a lot more badass games with the motion controls, but not many developers did. You know why? Because it wasn't as advanced as the PS3, or Xbox360 as far as graphics, and processing power went. They didn't have many good games for the Wii, and ones that were good, like SpiderMan Edge of Time didn't sell that well on it because it was released with much more beautiful graphics on other systems, and with better controls. You shouldn't have to buy a different type of controller to play games like Smash Brawl, or own used ones from an old system. They screwed themselves on those departments, and they should just cancel the WiiU asap and release a WiiU2 with better specs and backwards compatibility for WiiU, and Wii games if they want to survive. It would hurt them if they did so because of so many WiiU's already have been made to sell, but yeah I predict that they are going to pull a Sega, because this new console will never have the price their last one did, not until it's death, so most dumb parents, or older people who aren't even gamers won't buy it. Especially since they might consider the Kinect to be just as fun or more so when they aren't like the more hardcore people who want diversity, or know what has the better content released for what. -
Glad you guys are still working on it, there's still people like me I'm sure who are waiting to play this thing. I've said it before to someone else, it's not that much fun playing your own hack, most of the fun is in seeing your work in action, and the idea's of how people will like certain things as you are creating them. Even then I rarely feel passionate about modding, but I've found a new spark recently. So I'm encouraging you guys not to give up, just take breaks when needed. I know how slow of a process it can be working on a hack. Building dungeon puzzles are the biggest pain for me.. it takes so much thought to decide what you want, and I find myself going back and changing things over a hundred different times. So, don't give up, just remember dat feel people are going to get once they find themselves playing a refreshed new take on their favorite series.

80 Euro each? that's around 100$ in US right? Holy crap lol I'll post what they cost for copy's only in good condition, otherwise they are cheaper if you look in the right spots. Like this place http://search.half.ebay.com/Mega-man-nes_W0QQmZvideoQ2dgamesQQ_trksidZp3030Q2em1446Q2el2686 I didn't want to share that website where everyone could see it, since people here could be buying all of the cheap good condition games I could be buying haha, but eh' oh well. Mega Man 1 is 50.00$ here Mega Man 2 is 20.00$ Mega Man 3 is around 20, or 30.00$ Mega Man 4 is around 30$ on that website, but I bought my copy at a local retro game store for 20.00$ and they use Amazon to reference their prices Mega Man 5 is around 60.00$ or 70 Mega Man 6 is around 30 to 40 So, yeah if I'm right then whoever was selling that MM 6 for several hundred Euro is taking advantage of the fact that it's hard to get a lot of US games over their. And it does pay to hold on to things, I'd start buying extra copy's of rare games man, that way you can sacrifice one and still have another in the future and see yourself sitting on stacks of cash. Or, just keep buying a non rare, but not too cheap Nes game or something like SMB3 and every pay check just keep buying a copy until you're about 40yrs old. You'd be making the game more, and more rare lol
-
Oh yeah, I totally forgot there was a Duck Tales 2, you're right. Still it's been a while since I've even seen that cart. I wasn't aware you weren't in the U.S so I figured Mega Man 2 was an NTSC copy, but I should of guessed otherwise since you had Willy Wars.. or maybe not? It's strange that Japan, and NTSC display in a different Hz than Pal. And well you understand more than me haha, I know phrases from ending/opening themes from anime's, but that is all. At any rate a lot of those things may become rare within the next 5, or 10 years, I've noticed prices going up on things, seven years ago I could have gotten all of my games for half the price. Though I don't care how rare they get later down the line unless something I own is damaged I won't sell it, and if I do sell damaged games it's only because I plan on buying the ones in the best condition possible anyways. Flea markets are a gamers friend as well, it's a shame I no longer live near one, and yard sales just don't yeild the old school stuff as often as they used too

There is a boss rush hack for OoT by Deathbasket
-
Impressive collection Xdan, there's not much there I don't plan on obtaining sooner or later online myself. I aim for the Famicom and super Famicom soon, as well as the Sega 32x, and Sega CD. Super plus for boxed Nes, Famicom, and Super Famicom games. Also is that Duck Tales for Nes?? That's freaking rare. Mega Man 2. What? Willy Wars? Even Japanese games that are available in NTSC, and Pal like Mario 64. I got a feeling you can speak Japanese

Well I haven't tried them out yet, but here is where I got them from http://pastebin.com/1S5umWdQ

Lulz, I've had most of this before and sold it when I was like 13/14. don't let my stuff intimidate you from posting yours either haha, someones going to post and blow me out of the water, mine is nothing compared to what I've seen on Assemblergames. Even though it doesn't say so in the title of the thread your PC counts. As far as I'm concerned if it's got a screen, and it's used to play games then post it if you want, heck show your living room off. Also I will update the first post because I figure living room setups should be allowed in this thread. If any said person doesn't have a living room all of their own with their junk in it show your bedroom. I'd hate to ask, but if an Admin feels like it, then please update the name of this post to "show your (either, and) Living room/TV/PC/Game collection" As I've mentioned here's all of the stuff I sold when I was young and dumb. A year ago my dad found these photo's and I have them on my Facebook now.. I miss all of my posters and everything else I sold These are all from anywhere between 8-10 years ago, I couldn't say exactly. Skull with daggers. You'll notice a bunch of pics I drew on my wall in all of these photo's PS2, Gamecube, and DVD's Mostly Posters and other junk More of my old room More of the old TV center... man that stereo system was beast Different games for Various systems Can you guys tell I was obsessed with DBZ? ..or obsessed with anything nerdy period haha.. aurgh, I'm envious of my old self. Anyways, that's all I would have to show new, or old.
-
Living room setups and PC's are also welcome. If most of your stuff that would normally go in here is in your bedroom then feel free to post if you like. Here's mine, Kinda proud to have this much since I've only been employed probably 7 months altogether in the past 2 years, and almost everything in this post was obtained in about the last year 1 & 1/2 sorry for the horrible picture quality Inside the left TV center door Some of the Snes, and N64 games are only in the last image.. I broke my collectors code and traded some of my rarest N64 games since I have them on my N64 flashcart. I'll get them back though All of my Nes games Just so you can read the lables on what few PS1 games I have Controllers My babies After Market N64 Joystick. I have two controllers with them.

I would really like more post like this in the community
-
Thanks Strati I'll test it out soon for problems, as for the rainbow bridge I will just set the first exit as the entrance as well in Ganon's Castle.
-
Well I am going to have the file start you off at the Forest Temple, then after beating the Forest Temple boss the warp take you to the Water Temple, and then to the Shadow Temple, and Last Ganon's Castle. So, it's Forest, Water, Shadow, then Ganon's Castle.

How would I edit the blue warps in a similar way that has been done is hack like Mxrules Dungeon Rush, or DeathBaskets Boss rush hacks? I want to be able to change the destination an individual warp takes you, but I do not know the offsets for the warps, or how I would find those offsets. I've got an educated guess on how to get the job done once I get the offsets, but it's only a guess. If there are any links on how to do this, or any info that can be provided it would be very appriciated.

Woa, if I didn't know any better I would say that was an official OoT/MM fight song. Great job of keeping it legit, and true to the Zelda style man
