  1. Sorry I couldn't record it on the computer through Skype and Emulator. I'll be able to do it that way next time. I'm going to change the music in each area of the game, lost woods, kokiri forest, inside dungeons, inside houses and such, ect.. I plan on using music from other zelda titles. I did this with DeathBaskets InstEd program. I still don't know how to change the area in which the new music will be, I just know I can do it somehow and I'm gonna find out, if I have to get answers from someone or dig for tutorials online. It's my first Zelda mod, it might not be a big one, and some of you might think it would be a piece of cake to do, but I'm sort of proud of it.
  2. When Wind Waker first came out, I was excited, and somewhere between 12 and 13 years old. Of course I wanted a spiritual successor to Ocarina of Time even more, It was my favorite. The first Zelda game I ever beat. Though I very much enjoyed Wind Waker and everything about it, I still wanted something like Oot. When I heard the news about Twilight princess I was stoked. I prefer a darker story line. I loved Twilight Princess, but it still didn't give me those same feelz as Ocarina. I never disliked WW or Skyward Sword for being cell shaded. Game play is the most important part. Think about it, if Superman 64 had a good story, music, graphics and ect.. would it still matter if all you did was fly through rings? Nintendo has been delivering on the story. I mean you can't say you hated skyward swords story and cutscenes. Yeah I hated the lousy jungle beat music that played when monsters would approach you... that just really wasn't zelda music to me. I will argue that even while Skyward sword was one of the best zelda titles, it lacked difficulty. They need to provide a level up system, more Secret boss's, more secret weapons. Make me lvl grind for hours just because I can't beat a boss. If not then I could go without a lvl up system if zelda never seen another one, as long as the enemy's, the dungeons, and the puzzles are hard. Also more, more, and more side quest.
  3. Kind of one of the reasons I mentioned Twilight Princess. But if you look a the storyline,MM comes before TP isn't this going to be a prequel? Yes, but the fused shadow pieces that make the mask Midna wears were ancient, and used in ancient times. They might even be older than Majora's mask, No one knows
  4. Kind of one of the reasons I mentioned Twilight Princess.
  5. The text that went unchanged was usually from whenever I tried to talk to an NPC more than once. There wasn't that much that went unchanged. I done the same thing when I tried to change all of the text in the OOT Debug with the OOT Text Editor. I was sure I had changed everything until I played it, and yeah Zelda even tends to contradict itself at times. The Hyrule Historia sorts most things out, but even the Zelda bible has a couple of non-canon-ish things it explains. Idk if the Hyrule Historia can even be considered non-canon, even though some things do contradict themselves.
  6. I've noticed some text that the NPC's will say go off screen. I noticed a lot of text went unchanged as well. The story seemed good at first until the Deku Tree said he was the Deku Tree Sprout. That made the entire story Non-cannon because trees just don't grow that fast, and link was back in his own time line before the Deku Tree Sprout popped out of the ground. Even though it was after MM it couldn't have been that much longer, Link is still a kid. I would make some changes to the story. That's just my feedback. The story doesn't matter much to me though. The important thing is the dungeons and main/side quest, which you did great on. I lul'd at some parts, like the girl in the shop protesting people using the Deku Tree for sticks and Shields. I've been busy lately so I haven't even seen princess zelda but I'm about to get off and play
  7. It's no prob, and I wouldn't know what the problem is, I just started to get into Zelda hacking. I'm a complete noob as of now. Glad the room is useless lol
  8. I think this is a good idea and at the same time not. How about this, it is legit that the world of Termina is a sort of parallel world to Hyrule. So knowing this, we can speculate that there was hero's who were parallel to Link, but somewhere down the line his bloodline died off, like it did for Wind Waker. The new bloodline had to be established because Links (The Royal Knights) bloodline was growing weaker. That is why a whole new Link not related to OOT link, or any other one before was established into the series. They explain why OOT's Links blood line is no longer existent by the whole different time lines thing that started off at the end of OOT. The Hyrule Historia says this "The Knights of Hyrule are a clan that protect the Royal Family, their members descended from the Hero who governed the Crest of Courage. Legend has it that the Hero will one day reappear within their ranks. Looking back through the ages, it is possible that Link, the Hero of Time, was once a Hylian Knight himself. This may be the reason his mother became embroiled in the fires of war." and also this "Termina A strange parallel world, where many of the inhabitants look identical to the people of Hyrule." So let's say that it is in a past setting of Termina before Termina's Parallel Link bloodline died off. Maybe the guy in the mask is a related parallel version of the Twili before they were sealed away in ancient times and later became Twili Here I will again quote the Hyrule Historia "The Twilight Realm is a beautiful place, enveloped in the calm of a falling dusk. The inhabitants are gentle, pure-hearted creatures who make their homes within the realm’s radiance. The Twili wield the power of magic, though its strength does not reach the levels possessed by those who were sealed away in ancient times. Members of the powerful royal family choose one from among themselves to inherit the position of leader. The people of the Twilight lived in peace for many years, but there were those among them who felt that the denizens of the Light World were oppressing them. Despite Zant’s ambitions, he was not chosen to be king, and Princess Midna instead became leader of their people." I suggest that because another masked villain doesn't remind me all that much of Majora's Mask but instead reminds me of Zant Also I thought about this Dark Links are in fact born from the Twilight Mirror I will again give you all more than you are probably willing to read, and not for the last time quote the Zelda Bible "The Dark Mirror A mirror that reflects the evil heart of its bearer, spawning demons. It was once used to imprison the Dark Tribe, who attempted to invade Hyrule, and thus it was hidden inside a temple with no connection to the Dark World. Its relation to the Mirror of Twilight that serves as a path to the Twilight Realm, as well as the magic mirrors that exist in other timelines, is unknown." "Shadow Link Demons identical to Link that are born of the Dark Mirror and possess the power of darkness. The resentment and evil thoughts of the defeated Ganondorf travel across time and space, emerging as shadows in the shape of the Hero. The ones that appear in the Elemental Sanctuary set a trap aimed at getting Link to break Ganondorf’s seal." It is thought that Ganondorf used the Dark Mirror (I'm sure it is the one and same twilight Mirror) to pull out Dark Link, as well as phantom Ganondorf. You could always come to me for ideas lol, or if you're worried about the story being canon you can PM me about details of the story and I will let you know if it is indeed canon. I own The Hyrule Historia and I've read the entire thing. If I have a problem remembering something from it I can always open it back up. The only Zelda games I have not played are the ones for Nintendo DS/3DS
  9. Weird. I had one person before have it crash at that room, but I thought it was a fluke. Doesn't crash at that point for me, and no one else has mentioned that....hmm.. Sorry though I had the same problem. I was playing it on my N64. It may not happen on emulators at all. Like Zelda's Birthday, I couldn't even leave links house without it crashing. Even though people don't have that problem at all on emulators. Don't get disheartened by people either. Everyone's a critic, somethings they say just to hurt you, other people are just giving feedback. Personally I love these new dungeons, they are hard as nails. You're talking to a guy who's played OOT at least once, or a few times a years since it's release, and I still ended up dying a few times, and I think that's pretty cool. It's harder but not ridiculous. I just hope I don't have to go in that room with the pots just to beat this thing
  10. I got it to work on Everdrive 64! I used GZRT to fix the CRC checksum. It wouldn't work on Project 64 but I think it would have if I set my settings on it. It's awesome to finally have a complete Zelda hack running on my ED64. I don't know if it will turn out like Zelda's birthday and freeze as soon as I try to go to a certain spot or anything, but hopefully that's not the case
