Consoles were never, ever supposed to be gaming computers, so your expectations are way too high. (And no, they will not get the games running without serious reverse engineering. even if the hardware is more similar to PCs this time around, it's still unique from average PCs in certain ways, and the games are built to run on it, and only it. so you have no more chance of seeing a game like inFamous: Second Son for the PS4 running on a PC than you did seeing inFamous 1 & 2 for the PS3 running on a PC) Also, I don't know if you missed it, but: This ISN'T the future of consoles, it's the future of Xbox consoles. The PS4 and the Wii U do not require internet to play, and they do not block used games. Microsoft shot themselves in the foot with the Durango, and ensured they will not have another generation of consoles after this one. Sony and Nintendo, on the other hand? I expect the PS5 and WiiWii(or whatever they name it) to launch when this new generation reaches its end, because they know how to satisfy gamers. And yes, I'm positive there will be another generation; console gaming isn't dying for a looooong time, guys, and I know that for a fact.
