Manufacturer: OnLive, Inc. Rating: Description: OnLive is a cloud gaming platform: the games are synchronized, rendered, and stored on remote servers and delivered via the Internet. The service is available using the OnLive Game System(Microconsole), PCs running Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7) and Intel-based Macs with OS X 10.5.8 or later. Since the game is computed on the OnLive server, a low-end computer may be used to play any kind of game as long as it is able to play video. For that reason, the service is being seen as a competitor for the console market. All games on the service are available in 720p format. OnLive recommends an Internet connection of 5 Mbit/s or faster, and a 2 Mbit/s connection meets the minimum system requirements. Over 50 publishers, such as Take-Two, Ubisoft, Epic Games, Atari, Codemasters, THQ, Warner Bros., 2D Boy, Eidos Interactive, Disney Interactive Studios, and others have partnered with OnLive. Over 150 games are available on the service, some of which are listed on the List of OnLive games. Review: I am going to give my personal review on each(major) aspect of OnLive, so get ready: Service: The service is amazing. Granted you have a great internet connection, you will get the best out of it you possibly can. OnLive grants you the ability to do anything you'd expect from game services such as XBox Live, or the Playstation Network: Full-featured friend system complete with messaging, competitive multiplayer, a customizable profile, plus more. OnLive's service has major benefits over competitors you will not see in XBox Live or the PSN, which are: Play games instantly. No downloads, or discs required; just press "play", and there it is. Bam. An arena mode, which allows you to watch other people as they play, in real time. While not a "benefit", per se, it is really cool, and adds a certain fun-factor to see how people play a game. Or you know, just to spy on them is fun enough. You can even "cheer" or "jeer" people, a cheer being for a good performance, and a jeer being for what you might consider horrid. Though, you can spam as many cheers or jeers as you want, which makes me thankful they do not affect your standing in the community if some dick just spams away. Insane prices. OnLive often gets a lot of amazing prices, huge discounts, ect. On Cyber Monday, they had a special deal which allowed you to purchase your first game for only $1. No catches, or anything. Any game, even if it's brand-spanking new, for just a dollar. Your games with you, anywhere. Since it's all done in the cloud, your games are always available to be played anywhere you can access OnLive. This is truly something special, and adds a nice level of convenience you hardly see with other services. As can be seen, OnLive is a major competitor for other gaming services/consoles. Microconsole: Not only is there the standard PC/Mac application which lets you access their service, there's also the Microconsole. It is their very own game system, which really makes the service all the more better, as it streams everything in much higher quality, and overall feels more responsive than the PC/Mac application. Not only that, it has a lot of nice extras, which make it all the more worth it! Standard OnLive Game System(Microconsole) Wireless Controller(can order three extra, for a pirce; each come with their own batteries and USB cables) Rechargeable Battery Pack(only comes with the original controller) HDMI Cable Ethernet Cable Component Cables(optional addon) As you can plainly see, it is everything you need to get started, even with the standard purchase. And just by how much more enjoyable OnLive is with the Microconsole, it really is worth the purchase, so do not be afraid to shell out that money for it. Though, I must admit, the console can get pretty warm after extensive play time, though it's not really a problem at all.Overall: Well, overall, I feel OnLive is an excellent service, definitely worth investing in. I know I have, even going as far as to get their game system. Though, I will admit, OnLive is not for everyone due to fact it is cloud gaming. This means, that even if you wanted to, you can never play your games offline. While some would not mind, this is a real killer for most; if you're not sure, make a free account and download the application to see if it's for you. You never know, it just may be for you! Personally, I am in love with this service, and find nothing wrong with it, so I award it a platinum rating. Happy gaming, GCN!

Characters you would like to see in the next Smash Bros.
Conkerreplied todekupk5's topic in The Central HubYay! Finally someone else who wants a Metroid character. And yeah, that sounds like a nice idea if there would be a Space Pirate character. -

Conkerreplied todekupk5's topic in The Central HubThat does sound like a good one. -

Conkerreplied todekupk5's topic in The Central HubSo, let's say we had another non-Nintendo character join, I think Crash Bandicoot would be cool. This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly? -

Conkerreplied todekupk5's topic in The Central HubSkull Kid would be cool, but I think Zant(or Ghirahim) would be a better newcomer for the Zelda characters. -
Lishy, you clearly have no idea what the hell you're talking about, do you? In fact, your post just borders around flaming, if you ask me. luigiisdead: Looks good to me.

Characters you would like to see in the next Smash Bros.
Conkerreplied todekupk5's topic in The Central HubI think Dark Samus, another bounty hunter from Metroid Prime: Hunters, or a Space Pirate would be cool. Or Krystal. Like in my first post in this thread. There's seriously way too much of everything but Metroid. -
You should definitely try it out. Good luck!

This reminds me of this time, I went through the trouble of decompiling an Android app, making a 100% translation, going through the trouble of recompiling and signing it, installing on my phone, only to find most of my translations didn't apply for some outlandish reason. Anyways, I am not sure how you'd go about translating a Wii game, but in any case, I wish you luck.

I look forward to your update.

Characters you would like to see in the next Smash Bros.
Conkerreplied todekupk5's topic in The Central HubI would love to see the following in the next game: Krystal Zant One of the other bounty hunters from Metroid. I am just damn sick of there always being one playable Metroid character when there's so many potential newcomers. This is all I can think of right now. -
Gotta love optical illusions. This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly?

Indeed. Also, someone should make a code that enables him to normally mount Epona, because Nintendo were crafty bastards and made it to where your fairy says he's too big in the off-chance you managed to get him anywhere near the horse. xD Unless such a code already exists, that is. (lol, yes when I said he fits perfectly, it was in the intro scene where he's on her) EDIT: Lol! I just noticed the image. He is pretty big. O:

He looks to be adult Link-sized to me. Fits on Epona perfectly, too. x3

OoT mirror shield sprite with windwaker colors
Conkerreplied to luigiisdead's topic in Literary & GraphicThat is a nice sprite, indeed! Though, I feel I must be honest with you: It can use quite a bit of touching up, but once all of that is done? You've got not just a nice sprite, but a perfect one. -
You're looking at him. *points to self* I was going to say the exact same thing, but forgot. Nice advice. No, better yet, say nothing at all to make yourself look even better to the police. Just go about your business, and either of the three play out: He keeps on pestering you afterwards, and if such a thing happens, you call the police. He calls the police, and if such a thing happens, tell them everything that's happened to make him look like an idiot, like Pinkie Pie said(although in a very polite and professional manner you tell them). He will just eventually give up. But yeah, now you know what to do next time, LEepicPOULET.

Oooh, it's done! Thanks, Zeth. This is something I've secretly wanted for a VERY long time, but only recently voiced in this thread. Thanks again! <3
-
I figured you weren't. Just making sure, lol. But yeah, sometimes it's good to ask the police for help when needed. And if this ever happens again, try not to pick up the feces; I bet you that old man went inside his home happy, thinking he manipulated you. :/ This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly?

Don't mock me. Just because I am a brony, it does not mean I like to be a kind kiss-ass like the rest. I have no idea where you live, but where I do, it would have. And I seriously get the feeling you're mocking me, too, in which case: Way to miss out on good advice. Your loss. This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly?
-
I would have called the local law enforcement, and not have given him the satisfaction of me picking up the shit. Seriously, why the fuck did you do that? This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly?
-
Cool. Now someone should make it, then apply adult Link textures, and bam: problem solved, ect. (I would make the code, but I honestly have no experience in that field)

Don't even bother asking. You're just going to be ignored, no matter how many times you ask in this thread, like I was.
