  1. I would give it a shot! EDIT: what about going to gerudo valley with map select? Does it do the same thing? If so, it's definitely not the rain. It's got to have something to do with a flag in Spirit Temple.
  2. Not really, because it rains during the ganondorf cutscene. But When you enter Kakariko village it does a check for (and I'm not sure, so I'm putting both things) Either the water medallion, or a flag activated after the nocturne of shadow cutscene. I believe it's the flag though. If you leave the village too quickly, it carries the flag over to Hyrule Field, and then everywhere else in the game, because there's nothing to tell it to turn it off. So you might see if (And again, I have no idea how to do this) you can check for a certain flag that is only reset after you finish Spirit Temple. EDIT: Unless you SET a flag to make it rain. Then yes, that could be it.
  3. It also happens if you run into kakariko village when it's raining there, and run out really fast. It actually destroys graphics. Link's polygons too.
  4. I do. Very sad indeed. And I don't know why. But if you'll excuse me, I have Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime 2 to play
  5. I sense lots of assembly to make it work for both...
  6. Guys. Skyward sword was different, yes. But it was really good. I wasn't disappointed by it like I was twilight princess. I ignored the fact that the controls were weird, and just enjoyed the game. It was pretty great.
  7. I wonder if adding actors to Hyrule Field messed up the spawners for those things. They are spawned really strangely compared to everything else, maybe they have flags that are being messed with. God that was a rambling mess. EDIT: Whoa. I didn't finish the video at first because I was watching Castle, but I decided to pause and finish. I think I was right. They're spawning, but not going back down... there's something being cancelled out...
  8. Got 4 hours 49 minutes on Ocarina of Time. Never even got close to that again. Mario 64 I've got down to a little over 3 hours (On good days) And I've done a Kingdom Hearts 2 run at 12 hours. Which is slow. But I'm working on it. I'm working on a pokemon blue run too, not sure what my time was, though it wasn't very long.
  9. Accurate lighting is really really hard. I'm pretty amazed with the people at companies like Autodesk who made Maya and 3dsMax who get the lighting right so easily. It's crazy.
  10. Thanks! That's the one that successfully assembled for me! And yeah, thanks for the heads up. Assembly in general is ridiculous, but I want to give it a shot. Even if it's a little shot.
  11. Someone would have to make modifications to a current plugin or make a new one for this game. It uses the N64 RSP mixer 1.0 which by what I've been able to see while looking through the file a little, is exactly what it says it is. It mixes up bits and pieces of other RSPs and just uses all of their best parts. Hence the high detail models and ridiculous draw distance. I too hope someone will get it working.
  12. xdan, you are an amazing programmer. I'm trying to get somewhere with programming myself, and you inspire me. And really, I feel exactly the same way all the time. I don't know enough, so I get frustrated. I have been TRYING to get things in the works. I want to be at your level, or even at a level capable of making SOMETHING useful. But I'm not. Honestly, I look up to you, and I don't see a word you said as arrogance. If you were arrogant, you'd deserve to be. You've done more for this community than I can even remember. But believe me when I say, you, and every other artist, programmer, writer, whatever feels the same way. Just keep at it bro, and you'll get where you want to go. I have a lot of faith in you and your work. Thanks for everything you've done.
  13. Okay, so it stands for Back in Time, and Back in Time Equipped? Makes more sense now.
  14. I've gotten into Gameboy assembly a little bit for whatever reason, and I was wondering if anyone on here has done any, and what assembler they used? I know the Gameboy's Z80 processor used some pretty different instruction sets than most other processors, (Like LD instead of MOV) so I need an assembler that actually works. I know we've had some people around here working on gameboy and gameboy color games! I could really use the help. Thanks!
  15. What are you guys talking about? BiTE an BiT.
  16. Whoops. I'm on my Phone looking at this. It didn't tell me! XD
  17. Hey! Welcome to the GCN! We do have an introductions thread, you might want to post there. This is a great place to learn and ask questions. Enjoy your stay!
  18. I was thinking last night, I have no idea how the "Specific Things Lean" code works. I'm kinda curious about it now that I actually know how rotations, etc... work. It's only one line, so I'm a bit confused. Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about! Thanks!

    Block pushing physics

This was done a little while back, or at least the pause was shortened, let me look around, and I'll get back to you. EDIT: Alright, that didn't take long. It's in this forum post here: http://www.the-gcn.com/topic/2115-simple-block-speed-modifications
  20. So, I find myself wondering what an ODS file and an XLS file are. EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out. Now I'm being really curious as to what those unknown actors are. I'll see if I can do a little research.
  21. I wish you the best of work on your interview! I'm looking for some sort of computer repair job myself. I do it for fun, so why not get paid (more then 20 bucks per repair) for having fun!
  22. Apparently that was the case. What I read was there was supposed to be someone who could reverse time based on the number of rupees you gave him. Possibly other items since you would be able to go fishing and catch the fish in a bottle, it seems you could possibly give this character something like the loach, and he would reverse time, stop time, or whatever depending on the value of the item. That also makes me assume that the beggar used as the bank was probably that person, just because that was his function in OoT, except he gave you rupees. Again, this is all just my speculation based on what I've read and thought of, so it's most likely not exactly how it was meant to be.
