Maka sighed, "Yeah...He just won't leave me alone!"
-
"I'm not sure Patty." Maka replied. "Maybe if he's a student..."
-
Maka shook her head with a small sigh at the blonde's hyperness. Black*Star hmph'ed, "Shinigami-sama's son? He will be my new rival and I will surpass him!" "Because one day you will surpass God." Everyone said dully.
-
"Hey! Who took all the good missions!?" Black*Star yelled in aggravation. He crossed his arms and glared at the missing big missions.
-
Kid shivered, tightening his grip on Soul. He didn't understand why his partner was so understanding and comforting, but he was so glad that he was.
-
Kid clung to Soul, shaking with quiet sobs, "M'm sorry...m'm so sorry!" he whimpered, his voice slightly muffled.
-
Kid shook his head, biting his lip to keep from saying anything. 'I don't deserve it...'
-
Kid flushed slightly, but shook it off as they started heading back home. --- Kid cringed at his father's words, averting his gaze to the ground. Because the pyramid was destroyed, all the souls the two had collected had been confiscated. All that hard work for nothing...and it was all his fault. He clenched his hands tightly, forcing back guilty tears. The last thing he wanted to do was to start crying in front of both his partner and his father.
-
Kid smiled a little more before taking his hand and being pulled to his feet. "Yes, let's."
-
Kid lifted his head and gave a shaky smile to Soul, "Th-thank you..."
-
Kid paled drastically and collapsed to his knees, starting to bang his fist on the ground in frustrated depression, "Damnit! I'm a trash heap of a person! That's why Anubis has turned to trash! Damnit, I'm hopeless! I could die!" He wailed.
-
Kid cringed slightly, "Oh well, we'll just have to keep going." He glanced back at the pyramid they were leaving from and gave a faint smile. "Whatever the case, we can say a last farewell to the beautiful Anubis." Oh, he really shouldn't have said that.
-
"What's wrong with you?!" Kid demanded, "You're completely screwed up! I've never seen something so horrible before! You disgust me!" As his wavelength merged with Soul's once more, the blade of the scythe growing immensely in size, he raced forward and gave a devastating slash to the pharaoh, unknowingly hitting some of the pillars as well. The pharaoh roared with pain before bursting into black energy that disappeared, leaving a floating red soul in it's place.
-
Kid whimpered softly, the pain was almost unbearable. "Grrr... You're not bad. I'll defeat you personally now." The gravelly voice spoke again as the hammer unraveled and the bandages withdrew back to the sarcophagus. A thin line appeared in it and it opened. A giant disfigured mummy came up. That was the pharaoh's first and last mistake as the moment Kid's eyes focused on him, his pupils shrunk in shock and he sat up as if he had never been injured the first place. He kept glancing back and forth between the left and right sides of the mummy before he growled lowly, 'Di...DISGUSTING!'
-
Kid didn't respond or really couldn't respond, it hurt to move. A gravelly voice was heard from the sarcophagus, "The wrath of the pharaoh is upon you!" The bandages swirled into the air, forming a hammer. The large weapon slammed down on Kid causing him to scream out the sound soon followed by the cracking of bones.
-
Unfortunately, it was still the sarcophagus that was attacking the duo and since it was symmetrical, Kid could not touch it. He couldn't even defend himself as the somehow sharpened drill-like bandages tore into his body and sent him flying halfway across the room.
-
Dodging another attack of bandages, Kid got the idea to summon Beezelebub. Kick flipping it in the air, he sent the board towards the bandages holding Soul causing them to tear and release the white haired scythe teen.
-
Kid felt his cheeks flush bright red, 'O-oh my...' While he was distracted, move bandages rose up and formed drills, beginning to spin wildly and charge towards him. Luckily he noticed them right away and managed to get out of the way just in time. "Are you able to transform?" He asked, trying to focus on the battle and not the compromising position his partner was in.
-
That caught Kid's attention right away, "Soul! Are you alright?"
-
"I...I can't fight back." Kid whispered. "Just look at it!" Of course, it was perfectly symmetrical.
-
Kid didn't respond, gazing in the direction that the attack had come from. There was a giant sarcophagus in the middle of the room, bandages waving menacingly around it like multiple whips.
-
Kid gave a slight nod of agreement, making a face. The smell aside, however, there was definitely a feel of evil in the air along with the lingering energy of a witch.
-
"...Yes." Kid said slowly. "Looks like her spell turned out for the worst."
-
The ending part of the sentence made Kid blush faint slightly before shaking himself out of his stupor. "Well then, let's get a move on."
-
Kid gave a faint smirk and soon all that remained of the mummies with the floating blood red souls. Carefully tossing the scythe up, allowing Soul to transform back, Kid spoke, "All that's left is to find that witch."
