Ethan stared at his rival warily, "Why...are you offering to help me?" He asked, completely confused and slightly nervous.
-
"Whoa!" Ethan fell back in surprise. He looked up and bit back a groan, 'Why am I not surprised?'
-
"We're getting better and better." Ethan said with a smile as he patted his starter's head. Cynder purred softly in content. "Let's hurry to the city and explore a bit before we take on the gym."
-
Ethan continued walking down the path that led to Olivine. Trainers challenged him along the way so it was a nice way to train and keep his mind off of recent events.
-
"Next city is Olivine." Ethan murmured, "Should be interesting, huh?" Cynder growled softly in agreement causing the boy to smile faintly. It faded when he thought about the earlier battle. 'Just what the hell was that about? I don't understand...'
-
"...what the hell just happened?" Ethan mumbled. He glanced at Cynder who seemed just as confused as he was. Shaking his head, he sighed, "Whatever, let's just get out of here." Cynder nodded faintly in agreement and followed his trainer out of the tower.
-
Ethan didn't know if he should feeling insulted or not. 'Top form? What's that suppose to mean? Does he believe I wasn't doing my best?' He snapped out of his thoughts when the other trainer spoke to him again. Giving a faint glare, he silently moved out of the way.
-
Completely dumbfounded, Ethan could only stare at the redhead, '?!'
-
Cynder nearly gagged from being startled and jumped back, eying the other pokemon warily. Ethan's eyes narrowed, 'What is he planning?' Brushing the thought aside, he called for Cynder to use swift which the pokemon did.
-
"Get out of the way, now!" Ethan shouted, fear flashing in his eyes. Cynder moved as fast he could, but a small bit of the attack hit him causing a decent amount of pain making the pokemon growl faintly in pain.
-
"Sunny Day." Ethan said softly. The typhlosion nodded before the sunlight became harsh, weakening the surf just like before.
-
Fluffy was sent flying back from the attack and knocked out. Ethan frowned before recalling her silently and bringing out another pokeball. Cynder was released, his main bursting out wildly as he growled.
-
"Not going to submit to that again! Block it out and use thundershock!" Ethan ordered. Fluffy squeaked before blocking the sound out just in time with her flippers before releasing a thundershock. I want this over... There is no point to this any more!
-
"Finish it with Thunderbolt." Ethan said softly. The electric pokemon nodded before sending the charged attack at the paralyzed ghost.
-
Ethan frowned softly but said nothing except. "Again." Fluffy growled faintly before charging at the ghost pokemon again.
-
"Use thunderpunch." Ethan said quietly. He too, was disinterested with the battle, but he wasn't one to back down from a challenge. Fluffy growled softly before charging at the ghost pokemon, hand/flipper/whatever sparking with electricity.
-
"Take a good rest." Ethan said softly, recalling his growlithe. "Your turn, Fluffy." He released the pokemon from the monster ball to reveal an Ampharos, eager to fight.
-
Growlithe whined in pain and Ethan frowned slightly, "Use ember." He said softly. The fire puppy went to attack again.
-
You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

"Get out of the way." He murmured softly and the pokemon's ears perked before he dodged narrowly. "Good. Now use bite." Ethan knew good and well that dark type moves were not very effective against steel type pokemon, but if he could get magnemite to flinch...
-
Ethan raised an eyebrow, 'He smiled...? He should do that more often.' Shaking his head he murmured, "Start this off with ember." Growlithe growled (Redundant? I know) before attacking the electric/steel type.
-
Ethan stayed quiet as he tossed out a monster ball, the light fading to reveal the newest member to the team, a growlithe. The fire puppy growled, eager for battle.
-
Ethan just stared at him silently before sighing and nodding slowly. 'Let's just get this over with...'
-
'Great...' he deadpanned mentally, but following. 'I'm going to have to battle him AGAIN. This is getting stupid.'
-
"Don't worry me like that, I thought something was wrong." Ethan said with a small sigh as he stroked his pokemon's fur. "Oh well, let's continue exploring." Cynder growled in agreement and they continued on.
