  1. "I may as well." He decided with a sigh. "I could probably get to Goldenrod before sunset..." Standing up after Cynder jumped from his lap, the trainer and his pokemon left. After giving the key back to Nurse Joy, Ethan headed out of the Pokemon Center with Cynder at his heels. 'I hope we can get there quickly...'
  2. "Here you are dear, your pokemon are fully healed." Nurse Joy said with a smile. Ethan smiled back faintly before turning and quietly heading to the room he had been in before. Sitting on the bed he called out Cynder who yawned and stretched, leaping onto the bed and crawling onto his trainer's lap. Ethan smiled faintly again, stroking his pokemon's fur. 'What a day.' He thought with a sigh. 'It not over yet either. I wonder if I should head to Ilex Forest? Then again, I might run into him...I really don't feel like seeing him again at the moment.'
  3. "Try all you want." Ethan whispered, "I'll never let you win. Not like that." Shaking his head, he went off to get his team healed up.
  4. OFF TOPIC: Indeed, so do not worry if this occurs often. We're used to it. Ethan ran over to his pokemon and knelt down next to him, lightly petting his head. "You did a great job, Cynder." He murmured, pulling out the starter's monster ball and recalling him. "We'll get you healed up in no time." He stood up slowly, falling silent.
  5. Cynder was hit at point blank with the attack. But because he was attack, the shockwave of the attack colliding with Snappy's causing an explosion which sent both pokemon flying back.
  6. Cynder skidded a little ways away, growling softly in pain. Ethan bit his lip, 'They're both at their limit. One more attack will decide this battle.' "Okay Cynder, quick attack one more time!" Although not as fast as before, Cynder still moved quickly as he began charging towards his opponent.
  7. "Dodge it and use quick attack!" Ethan called out. Cynder narrowly dodged the water starter before he charged.
  8. Ethan's eyes widened, "Cynder! Use Sunny Day, quickly!" The lava pokemon nodded before the sunlight became harshly bright. It wouldn't stop surf, but it would weaken the move greatly.
  9. "Use Quick Attack!" Ethan called out. Cynder quickly moved out of the way before charging at Snappy.
  10. 'Wait for it...' Ethan thought, 'Now!' "Flame wheel!" Just as Zubat came close enough, Cynder attacked.
  11. "Alright Cynder use ember!" Ethan called out. Cynder let out a small growl before attacking.
  12. It was a critical hit. Fluffy swayed before falling with a thud. Ethan winced, before a weak smile formed and he recalled his pokemon. "You did just fine." He said quietly before putting the monster ball away. 'Should I call out Cynder? Or should I use one of the others?' He clenched his hand around his starter's monster ball. 'I think he rested enough and I did give him a potion while Fluffy was unable to attack...(Unmentioned movements are go!)' With that in mind he tossed out the monster ball to reveal the lava pokemon, ready for battle.
  13. Fluffy cringed, squeaking in pain and remained cringing, unable to attack at the moment. Ethan frowned slightly, 'Darnit, Astonish causes flinching. We can't attack!'
  14. 'Now that Gastly has fainted, Mean Look and Curse is over.' Ethan thought with relief. "Good job Cynder, rest for awhile." He recalled his firestarter and brought out a different Monster Ball. "You're up next Fluffy!" Ethan chirped, throwing the ball to reveal a Flaffy. "Flaa!" The pink electric type squealed. OFF TOPIC: Don't blame me! Fire came up with the nickname! WE DID IT FOR THE LULZ. XD
  15. "Dodge it and use another flame wheel!" Ethan called out. Cynder jumped away from the ghost pokemon before moving into to attack once more.
  16. Ethan cringed at the sound of his pokemon's pain. "Okay Cynder! Hang in there and use Flame Wheel!" This time the cry was affirmative as the pokemon went to attack.
  17. OFF TOPIC: Abuh... Fine! But a certain rival is getting hurt for this later! Stupid jerk makes me want to punch him at the moment. >.> You role play so well as usual. :3 Cynder cried out in pain and Ethan cringed. He bit his lip, 'I'm not letting him win!' "Okay, smokescreen Cynder!" Cynder nodded slowly before the area was covered in smoke. 'This only bides time. I've got to figure something out!' the raven-haired teen thought in dismay.
  18. 'Fast little bugger, oh well.' Ethan thought before calling for another ember which Cynder did so.
  19. 'Doesn't matter.' Ethan thought to himself. 'We weren't thinking of escape anyway.' "Alright Cynder! Use ember!" He called out. Cynder let out a low growl before flames shot out of his mouth towards Gastly.
  20. "Think you're up for this?" The raven haired teen asked his firestarter who smile briefly at him before glaring at the Ghost Pokemon and its trainer.
  21. At the mention of the Rockets, Ethan's eyes became cold and narrowed, gripping a pokeball tightly in his hand while Cynder growled, lowering himself into a fighting stance. "There's nothing impressive about beating people who are cruel to pokemon." he said quietly. "But never mind that. If it's a battle you want, then I'll gladly give it to you!"
  22. -A half an hour later- "That was awkward to say in the least." Ethan mumbled. "That guy is so...feminine, how could I not mistake him for a girl?" Cynder snorted beside him. "Guess it's a good thing he was understanding about it." He stretched, "Well then, we should go get you and the other healed up, huh?" "Lava!" Cynder exclaimed cheerfully.
  23. Later on in the less unarceusly hours of the morning, Ethan awoke to a small weight on his chest. He looked at Cynder who was staring at him with curious crimson-colored eyes. Chuckling softly, Ethan petted his pokemon who purred quietly. "I suppose we should get ready for the gym now, huh?" "Quil...lava." Cynder nodded, smiling.
  24. Sighing softly, Ethan shut the light off and curled up in bed, falling into an uneasy sleep.
  25. Ethan fell back on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. "How...can anyone be so cruel to pokemon?" He asked softly, hating the fact that his eyes were stinging from unshed tears from that very thing. "The pokemon didn't do anything to them and they're just torturing them senselessly. It doesn't make any sense."
