Perfect Dark Zero, not a bad game but very much disappointing compared to Perfect Dark. Also Halo Reach and WSC real 2011.

Hate to nitpick but there's a missing apostrophe in the logo's text and it's bugging me. The new colour scheme looks nice but as others have said some of the text is difficult to read, particularly quoted text.

Great! I'm looking forward to seeing what this tool can do. I may not be so busy over the weekend so I might be able to help out with calculating those numbers. It would be really helpful if you could send me some examples since I don't currently have any of the things I need to find the information myself.

Thanks for your input. I wasn't too sure if that was for where the camera is looking or for its rotation because usually it would make little or no difference when I changed the values, I assumed the former because I didn't get things like the camera being upside down happening. An interesting point is that in a few completely custom cutscenes I made the camera would simply refuse to move at all. That may have been a problem with the way I was doing it but iirc other things like text would work normally. For now using the debug camera as you say to create the data is most likely the best way to go, I was just trying to figure out how the data is set up so that one day (in the distant future) we might have a cutscene editor.

I completely agree with Naxy, it's definitely worth trying out.

What is the Most Amazing Thing You Have Made?
DeathBasket replied to KevinB834's topic in Randomness
Well when it comes to Zelda I don't consider anything I have done to be amazing since it would all be quite straightforward to anyone with a little knowledge of programming/assembly/OoT. I haven't provided any really useful programs or code like spinout or xdaniel. In real life I've done some pretty good things though; I've had some really high exam and coursework scores, had an award for being the best at French in my secondary school, performed music in front of lots of people and I've cooked some great food. That about sums up my life's achievements. -

I don't know anything about what exactly vertex normals are or do but by definition a normal can only take one direction - perpendicular to the plane it is normal to. If this is not the case with vertex normals then calling them such does not really make any sense. Disregard this if I've completely missed the point. -
Not useful stuff but a bit of fun... 'Trippy' Tunic (use Zora Tunic) Increased ocarina range (may crash if you play a song you've learned)

FPS: Perfect Dark Brilliant game but it took me a while to get into it properly. Had an interesting story. TPS: Star Fox 64 I think that counts as TPS anyway. Random animals in spaceships destroying each other, what's not to love? RPG: Pokémon Red/Blue I can play these all day long. Action/Adventure: Majora's Mask The best game ever in my opinion. I think Super Mario Galaxy deserves a mention for this genre too though. 2D: Donkey Kong Country 2 Whenever I'm home I will set up my SNES and play this game. Racing: Mario Kart Double Dash Just about tops the N64 version. The Mario Karts since this one have been pretty poor in my opinion. Puzzle: Tetris Who doesn't love Tetris?

I am the same, in a way. The problem is not that you don't do anything interesting but it's that nobody else finds the same things as interesting as you do. The difference, I think, is that I just accepted it and did nothing about it. I've never really had any friends and the few friends I did have saw me as being boring anyway and no longer talk to me. It doesn't help that I had to put up with being bullied and insulted for years just because I was cleverer than everybody else. I had no confidence and gave up on just about everything (bad times; depressed, lonely, couldn't concentrate etc.) until two years ago. At this time I stopped trying to have friends or interests and just started focusing on my education and getting the best grades I could. I retook the exams I'd failed and came out of both with 100%. The only bad part is that after I finished college I couldn't make conversations with anybody; the two or three people who I considered friends accused me of not talking to them any more but they didn't exactly try talking to me either. What would be the point anyway? They knew I could not start or keep a conversation going. I may sound a little heartless but I just don't keep friends any more because I do not feel emotionally attached to anybody. Now I'm at University and am still yet to meet people who are interested in the same things. I like to spend my time studying or doing work because I want to really understand it all but it doesn't seem that anybody else does; they just seem to be content with knowing how to pass the course. I also spend my free time reading, making music, cooking, swimming or even just walking (used to do a lot of the Zelda stuff too) but it seems nobody is interested in any of that either. I realise I just wrote a lot of stuff that doesn't seem to be a real response to your post but the point I'm trying to make is that I think you want to have hobbies that make you fit in with other people (the way you said your hobbies aren't interesting makes it sound that way). Things won't always work out like that. I would encourage you to start reading about lots of different things until you find something you genuinely take an interest in and then go from there. For me this has always been mathematics, physics and astronomy. The advantage you have is that I never had the internet when I was growing up so I didn't have easy access to so much information. Whether or not other people are interested in what you like may become irrelevant as you get older but don't force yourself to take an interest in things just to fit in with other people, you just have to feel good about the hobbies that you do have that you enjoy. I was in the same situation; if it's possible just don't let it affect you. Yes, you have to go without things and I know how that feels but there isn't really anything you can do at the moment. I don't know how things work over there but over here you start receiving money once you get into higher education if you come from a family with low income. In my case I get >£2000 a year (besides student loans) to help with education fees because of this, as well as an extra £1000 for getting high grades in college. Fitness is becoming a bit of a problem for me as I've had less and less time and opportunities over the last few years to do anything about it. I would recommend swimming or running if you can but obviously the former costs a bit of money, which could be a problem. I find that setting myself a goal for a minimum distance helps because I'll feel more determined and satisfied to complete it. Unfortunately there's nothing particularly helpful that you'll be able to do about this at home. Well anyway I hope some of this helps.

Well once again the lecturer has proven what an arsehole he can be. So what's up? Well to start with he decided they'd be teaching us a third year module so that we've essentially missed a year's worth of knowledge that should have formed the basis of that course. Okay, that's not too bad because most of us can cope with the increased difficulty. However, it is a little unfair on people like me whose college never taught them the very basics of the course that we are now expected to know. This doesn't bother me too much because I have still managed to learn everything that we've been given. But here's where things get really stupid. My friends and I have been practising the old third year papers and we got to the point where we thought we were prepared and would be able to answer all the questions that might come up. Wrong. The lecturer decided he would set questions that were harder than anything that had been set previously and was even kind enough to slip in a few questions about things that we hadn't even been taught. I don't think this is fair because given any of the previous exam papers I could have scored a good 20% (guess) higher than what I probably got from this one. Yes, it's just one module, but it could still mean the difference between coming out with the best grade and not. I am never satisfied with my own work, so for me getting a degree that isn't a first will seem like a waste of time and money. Three years and >£20000 is a big deal. tl;dr I'm scared of underachieving.

Stress? Where do I start? Well I have three exams in three days starting from today (the first one is in less than two hours). This one is on thermodynamics and I've been stressing over it for more than a week now. It's not that it's too difficult (I need 66% to get the highest grade when my coursework is included) but just that I don't feel I understand it well enough despite being able to do all the calculations/derivations I need for the exam. Tomorrow I have an exam on planets, which may as well be called 'everything about the solar system ever'. There's just so much I need to know that while anything involving numbers should be simple and straightforward I have absolutely no idea of what I should be focusing on.
-
Don't own the game myself but from the little I've seen/played it seems fun.
-
And once again: Vector stuff is easy; solving partial derivatives, not so, but still straightforward enough. Doesn't look like I'm sleeping anytime soon but my sleep pattern is already messed up enough...

Good luck with the rewrite and be sure to take your time with it. If you can produce a tool with all the new features and improvements it will prove incredibly useful to everyone here still modding Zelda (not that it wasn't already). Also, I was just wondering if the source code to the older version will remain available if significant progress is made on this? -
Actually he did. He was demonstrating copying over instrument banks and samples from MM. iirc he also replaced Navi's sounds with Tatl's but I can't confirm that because I don't want to go searching through loads of posts.
-
Yes, you have to locate and replace the samples, probably using the audio debugger or something to find Navi's sounds.
-
Can anyone on Windows check if z64anim is saving changes to animations/objects? Last I knew it was not storing any changes but I can't remember if that was the newest version or not.
-
I think it's a collision type but I can't be 100% sure. Try having a look at the polygon types and changing them in some program that does it.

Well I'll just assume that's the best way of doing it since having to plot something when you're not given any actual data is sort of futile. Guessing at appropriate values hasn't got me anywhere either.
-
Doing the work keeps me awake. It's also frustrating because I know exactly what the answer looks like but I can't for the life of me get the equations I have to reproduce it... drawing it in paint is starting to sound like a really good idea.

Yes, magnets solve all our problems.

Well now I go from not being able to sleep to... not being able to sleep? 10 hours on trains and now I have to do a stupid thermal physics assignment... why oh why am I doing a physics degree?! Oh wait, I wanted to... curse you, DeathBasket! I'm not insane.
