  1. The first two aren't actual sequences, they are used for sound effects or something. Hyrule Field is made of many smaller sequences which play depending on what's going on, sequences 3 to 17 (hexadecimal) are the parts it uses and 2 is the sequence number actually used by the game (I don't think anyone ever found out how it works).
  2. b is sequence length, yes. x appears more like 02yy0000, y is 02 normally and 01 for sequences not used as actual bgm ex. warp songs (I think). ? is just 0, probably not used. In RAM the sequence addresses are translated to their ROM addresses.
  3. I ignore 99% of comments/messages I get on YouTube nowadays. ex. for something I did in 2009...
  4. You can increase Audioseq's size when importing sequences. I don't think that problem should actually be encountered though (the default size is huge) so I'll have to go back over the method I used for importing sequences so that it finds space to put them in better. I'll do this when I can.
  5. Not sure what the aim of this topic is... relevant?
  6. This literally happened to me last night. It was a horrible feeling because the movement felt so real and I remember being freezing cold. I woke myself up by trying to scream...
  7. http://i.imgur.com/zB6d6.gif hmm...
  8. Awesome to see this working on a console! I always wanted to make a hack that changes all the music in the game and I still plan to do it at some point. Do you have a capture card you could use to get the game video and audio next time?
  9. English English is best English... Anyway, do you have an idea of the sort of time this will be released tomorrow? I'm hoping I can find time at the end of the day to play it for a while, timezones permitting.
  10. Why does it have to be Zelda? The game is just too complex to have a community mod going for it unless the organisation is ridiculously good. It would be better to hack a game like SM64 or SMW where people can build levels which are easily implemented and then others could set the objectives for the levels.

  12. They're down by default iirc. There's a like-like between the blocks and the targets, and when you set a switch somewhere, the targets go up and the like-like can drop down into the room. Pretty clever, I thought.
  13. The horrible, sleep-deprived, unkempt shell I currently live in: Because writing up my dissertation at 3 in the morning is a great idea... right? (sorry for really poor quality)
  14. There's another case you did not consider, which is the one I find to be the most interesting and, for me, most plausible. The Japanese translation could also be Mask of Majora which, while it has pretty much the same meaning, I feel has more of an implication for Majora not being a creature with direct possession or inhabitance of the mask. If we go back to the information from the game itself, the mask was used by some ancient tribe in hexing rituals. I think this lends a lot of support to my idea that Majora is not a living creature but is a form of, or metaphor for, the type of magic the tribe may have used to create the mask. I think that the sheer amount of advanced magic and ingenuity that went into the mask's creation is what allows it to become sentient, unlike any other mask seen in the game of which most have some sort of power but none even comes close to Majora's Mask. When we reach the end of the game, I think this also becomes more plausible since we see that the mask obviously has no concrete grasp of its own or your own power, which is why you ultimately defeat it. In the final fight it only changes form in response to the damage it is taking, which makes me think that if it knew its own power it would not have battled you in the same way. The fact it gives you the easiest way to defeat it (Fierce Deity's mask - probably a derivative of Majora's magical power) means it either has no concept of strength or that it sees itself as being far superior. This probably stems from the magic that created Majora's Mask being focused on destruction and superiority, or at least that's how I see it. The mask was probably sealed away because the powers granted to the wearer were too strong and could not be controlled but I do not think its original purpose was to be anything other than a mask to enhance the wearer's abilities, it just ended up being too strong for such a purpose. After the Skull Kid wore the mask, I think his emotions of loneliness and jealousy are what fuelled the mask's power to reawaken and obviously then lead to the events of MM. TL;DR Majora is essentially a magical power and the forms Majora's Mask inhabits are an extension of that power in response to its situation and in an attempt to self-preserve. Anyway, I realise I've gone on and on and I don't expect anyone to accept or agree with what I've been saying. I still think it's best to leave the backstory of the mask as a mystery and let the player come up with their own opinions.
  15. Fi. I calculate a 75% chance that she had a lot of unnecessary text throughout Skyward Sword, but overall she is my favourite companion in any of the games.
  16. I don't think this was found before, but I found this just now. The audio debugger can be enabled with the gameshark code 813E416C 0001. The controls are the same as the menu in OoT - use the fourth controller, l/r to change page, d-pad to select/change a value, a and b to mute/unmute and play bgm/sfx.
  17. Not going to dispute this any more but my personal opinion is that Majora is pretty much genderless but very much masculine. I just don't see any of its features as feminine, not even the voice.
  18. On the debug ROM, one of the exits in the tower escape sends you there iirc.
  19. Signed numbers; the actual address will be 0x0602CB48.
  20. I don't remember if I kept my notes for this. Making it usable for both at the same time just means changing a variable and the display list pointers depending on which Link is loaded. If you put the models in gameplay_keep or something you might not even have to do that. You'll still need to change that one variable between 14 (adult) and 15 (child) but that would be only a few lines of code.
  21. I'd be interested in helping a little with the music if/when I get time for it. Even if you decide not to use an original sound track, it'd be fun to do a few remixes of some Zelda tunes and I'm good with importing music since I know what does and doesn't work with the music format in the game. I don't know what my summer's going to be like in terms of whether I'll be free or not but if you guys need it and I have time I could probably come up with a version of InstEd to work specifically with Majora's Mask.
  22. It looks like either some faces are reversed or you haven't triangulated that part of the model. Which object exporter did you use?
  23. Unfortunately I can't play a J cart so easily because I have a PAL N64...I'm probably going to get a used Wii that I can hack since my parents still have mine and if I hacked it and they were using it they'd probably manage to brick it somehow. Both SS and TP look interesting to me but I'd probably be more interested in TP since SS is still twice as long and you can probably bet there's a load more stuff yet to be found in it. Still, the atmosphere in SS makes it look like a pretty relaxing game to run and I like the way you have to constantly pay attention to your stamina. I can understand why people wouldn't want to run OoT now because of wrong warps being everywhere in basically every category and failing those loses you a load of time but there's still a lot of fun to be had with it with bingo, for example. The game is so broken now that there's just so many possibilities for it.
