  1. To think I really would make another commit to SceneNavi's repo...

  2. RT @LordNed: @xdanieldzd @TurfsterNTE @phofe Would make great news headline: "Thieves break into Nintendo Offices, take old code and leave."

  3. RT @LordNed: I just discovered in the crevices of my #windwaker modding folder, the original ver. of the map viewer. http://t.co/gR6nc7lgUT

  4. ...and yes, I did spend roughly 4 hours playing MC just now, and it's now ca. 5:30am... damn, what have I done

  5. And with "broken" I don't mean the missing textures or disjointed positioning, it's just fundamentally flawed...

  6. Hey, the new Twitter profile design, that I kept ignoring, has now been forced? Well, no choice but to get used to it now, eh...

  7. And that thread about WW/TP/SS... I'm torn between raging and just facepalming

  8. ...aaand "sing along" is usually more like "screech along" because I can't sing but still have fun trying! - as long as I'm alone, anyway

  9. It's been a bit longer than I wanted, but here's some photos of the insides and outsides of the C128DCR: Once again, the machine from the outside: Overview of the insides: Close-up on PSU (missed some spider webs in there, apparently): Some of the chips, including the three CPUs it has - a 8502 for C128 and C64 mode, a Z80 for CP/M mode, and a 6502 for the 1571-type floppy drive: Mainboard markings, including (I'm assuming) its serial number on the sticker and its date code (8725, thus 1987, week 25) More chips and some of the external ports: Close-up on the floppy drive, not at all protected against dirt, etc. other than by the machine's case itself: Right-hand side ports and switches, from left to right: casette port, keyboard connector, joystick/mouse ports 1 and 2, floppy drive reset and system reset: The machine's back side, with again from left to right: expansion port (cartridges, certain interfaces, etc.), Commodore serial port (floppy drives, printers, etc.), composite AV output, RF output, RGB output for 80-column display mode, userport: And finally, the Commodore 128D label with serial number:
  10. Hah, man, I'm stupid sometimes: I had the cover off already to clean the system, so I could've easily taken a few pictures then... I'll remove it once more, take some pictures of the internals and post them here tomorrow
  11. Oh yeah, have a nicer photo of the (mostly cleaned up) C128DCR too~ http://t.co/X3y3w7Q5ng

  12. I made a very unexpected purchase today at a flea market... "Unexpected" as to what it is, and the price I got it for: A Commodore 128D for a mere five Euro! ...well, sadly it's just the base unit itself, a C128DCR "cost-reduced" to be exact, with no keyboard, no cables, no manuals and so on. And don't mind the keyboard underneath it in the photo, that's just my Amiga 500 peeking out and serving as a stand for the 128D. It was very dirty when I got it, but some TLC (i.e. abrasive cleaner) later it's looking much better already. The scratches and damage to the case's paint I can't do much about, tho, but I guess that's fine... the thing's just a few months younger than I am, after all - mainboard and ICs are all from 1987, weeks 15-30 -, so some signs of wear are to be expected. The best thing is, of course, that it actually works! Like, as far as I can test it anyway, which is 1) powering it on, 2) waiting for the disk drive to try and detect a CP/M boot disk and 3) have Commodore BASIC v7 appear on the screen, all of which it does perfectly. As mentioned, I don't have a keyboard for it, so I can't try to use Basic, and neither do I have a CP/M boot disk for it to try and start CP/M from... Sooo, aside from the (pretty much finished) P100 restoration and upgrading my A500, I suppose I have another hardware project to take care of now?
  13. ...of course, I can't test the machine any further due to no keyboard... but at least it looks a lot nicer again now, after some TLC :)

  14. Unless things change significantly in the next couple of years - which I do not believe will happen, considering the past ten or so years as mentioned in the video, but I'd love to be proven wrong -, I am finished with OoT/MM hacking. The only exception might be SceneNavi, said OoT level editor I've been working on since last May (thread here if you haven't seen it yet, downloads etc. on its update page), but I'm not sure if I still want to bother with that either.
  15. Posted a 20min long general update video; projects, tools, OoT hacking, rambling - sorry, no tl;dr http://t.co/u8K1J0dE6N

  16. Considering it concerns my "random junk" (i.e. my projects and such), here's this 20 minutes long video of me rambling about said random junk... and OoT hacking: (sorry, no tl;dr)
  17. I will play some FTL and buy more ice cream until the weekend. You know who you are. *cough*

  18. Pokemon White (dat music...) http://t.co/S5yMtXiKOO

  19. And it's over. Mario Kart DS: "The Nintendo WFC service for this title has been discontinued." Pokemon White: "The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service for this title has been discontinued. Visit support.nintendo.com to consult a list of titles, which support Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Error code: 20110"
  20. I was thinking of making a stupid joke based on the cover, but I actually like the game - probably NSFW...
  21. I guess I'll... leave it at that. Thanks Wi-Fi Connection for - as unbelievable as it may sound - some of my first online gaming ever.

  22. Had one more Mario Kart DS online match, ended in a draw. Maybe my last match, but maybe I'll try one more tomorrow if WFC still exists then

  23. string message = string.Format("Hey there, welcome to {0}! Have a nice stay! Also, {1} does sound familiar, so I guess it's more like 'welcome back'?", websiteName, oldUsername); MessageBox.Show(message, "Hello", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information); (Everything but my C# is quite rusty...)
  24. Heh, my 1000th tweet, an admission of lazyness, what else is new...

  25. I always find it extremely difficult to pin down exactly what kinds of games I like most... I think my tastes are all over the place. I guess I prefer more niche games/series/genres in general as well as certain indie (and in particular sandbox) titles, so, for example, the Etrian Odyssey series and the likes of Minecraft and Terraria. I cannot really stand the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield meaning, I guess, "military FPS" in general, with a few exceptions like ex. Battlefield Vietnam for nostalgic reasons. I don't prefer fast-paced games over slower-paced ones and like them equally - compare RPGs like the aforementioned EO series to racing games like ex. F-Zero or Flatout. I don't exactly favor Japanese developers over Western ones either, but my most favorite games and series - outside of indies - do come from Japan. Nowadays I play games on both consoles/handhelds, and on PCs, but I do prefer handhelds (3DS and DS, Game Boy line, PSP) and retro consoles (ex. N64, Saturn, SNES/SFC, PS2, ...) ...and that's just on top of my head. It's really, really difficult to narrow my tastes in games down...
