  1. Finally finished Pokemon Origins today and I really wish this would've been a full 12 episode series. Sure, it worked well enough in four episodes, but I personally wouldn't mind seeing every town, every cave, every gym battle (those in particular) too, instead of skipping over a lot of that. Not saying I didn't like Origins - on the contrary, I really loved it. To go into spoilers a bit... ...oh well, gotta stop here, feeling the Gen 1 and 2 fanboy awaken. Well, maybe not really, but I'm kinda biased towards them and in turn Origins, so... yeah
  2. I vaguely seem to remember something like that... The only days displayed in a debug menu that I know of - or that can be enabled in the retail versions anyway, as we didn't yet have the MM Debug ROM in the ZSO era, if I'm not mistaken - is the day selection on the Map Select. That, however, just reads (in hiragana): さいしょのひ (最初の日), つぎのひ (次の日), さいごのひ (最後の日) and くりあーのひ (クリアーの日), so First Day, Next Day, Last Day and Clear Day. Doesn't mean that you're remembering it wrongly or that this was nonsense from the start, just that I'm not sure where this might be found...
  3. This weekend. Wanted to get Beta 7 out after this long silence, but haven't had the chance to think about and comment on your suggestions yet. That... appears to be correct, oddly enough. It's in UoT SVN R10, OZMAV2, SayakaGL and previous versions of SceneNavi... with distinct collision even. The surface of the bed inside the room uses collision polygons #24 and #25, while the odd one outside uses #22 and #23... they also use polygon type 3 instead of 4, which has the ground type as "Earth/packed wood" instead of "Earth/dirt". ...I guess the game's not been under enough scrutiny yet. But considering how closely under our noses this has been the whole time - I mean, this would've been visible even with old-ass viewers like my crappy first attempt 5 years ago - it's... odd and kinda ironic. EDIT: Been foolin' around with the update function...
  4. Found a Haunter, then watched some videos, now gonna find my bed...

  5. Finally released new build of SceneNavi earlier, now listening to Log Horizon ED & trying to find a Haunter on Kalos R14...

  6. Dragging this out because the games are out and I'm playing Y. Liking the game quite a bit, despite a few minor annoyances - ex. the awful framerate in battles, especially with 3D turned on, and how the rollerskates are really finicky. Some of my progress so far: Player: Akatsuki (F), ID 22798, 5 badges Time: 15h 34m (started Nov 9th 2013) Pokedex: 93 seen, 37 caught (Central); 60 seen, 11 caught (Coastal); 22 seen, 7 caught (Mountain) Party still undecided; currently having the final forms of all three Kalos starters and Pidgeot semi-permanent Todo: Get the Scyther line, get the Cyndaquil line, get the Gastly line. I have to have a Scyther or Scizor in my games - preferably trained from level 1 to 100 (probably insane, but my dear Scizors Yomi and Kagura on SoulSilver and White say hi) -, I really want another Typhlosion (like I did in SoulSilver, like I did in Silver JPN), and I like Haunter and Gengar very much. Anything else...? Uh, become the Champion, of course! How could I forget that!
  7. You may wanna click on "Check for Update" in your copies of v1.0 Beta 6...
  8. Man, feeling kinda bad now. Put crappy German Slowpoke w/ Ultra Ball on Wonder Trade, got back a Japanese Ditto! Sorry! #pokemonxy

  9. Oh bloody hell, did I just accidentally defeat a shiny Chatot? Damn you, critical hits! #pokemonxy

  10. Pokemon Y is the 1st 3DS game where I keep 3D off, btw... because it tends to skip frames like mad in battle w/ 3D on! Optimized for 2DS?

  11. Heh, oops As for alternate object sets, every room has two in total, the regular one and the unused "beta" one. About half of the rooms don't have room actors defined in their unused sets, only some objects (object_ice_objects, object_xc, object_gi_melody), which in turn seem to be - or once have been - for the Serenade of Water cutscene.
  12. True that about the alternate scene header; in the post I was more concerned with general access to the old cavern, to have a look-see, as opposed to "proper" access to it. Had a quick look at the transition actors, too, and the main reason why most of them are broken is probably that they're set to load the same room from both sides, instead of loading different ones like normal - I think the only ones set up correctly are the two doors leaving the Iron Boots room, every other transition has the room numbers messed up.
  13. "Beta" Ice Cavern IIRC works fine if you access it with alternate methods, say by activating the Object Set Modifier code while already in the regular Ice Cavern (ex. via a button activator code, or just via the emulator's cheat function), then passing through one of the transition actors into the next room. It'll still be mostly devoid of actors as only a few rooms have some defined, but every room should load fine.
  14. 2:05am and actually tired as hell! Pretty much about to pass out~ ...more meaningful tweet(s) later today, I hope

  15. 3:28am, need to get up at 7, sleepless with "what if" scenarios in head... really sucks

  16. RT @RetroCoreYakumo: Retro Core 4 - Vol:12 is finally here. http://t.co/ugaKpJuS6k

  17. So I got my 3DS back after lending it out to a friend. But not just that, I also got something unexpected... or rather, I didn't really believe it when he mentioned it on the phone: He gave me Pokemon X and Y for free! You see, he's quite the enthusiast, I suppose, when it comes to Pokemon - aims for Pokedex completion, buys multiple and/or used copies of the games to do so, etc... Those two were additional copies he had bought for getting Pokemon on, then trading them to his main games. And as far as I understand, as a "thank you" for lending him my 3DS for trading and a few other things, he's given me those copies of X and Y!

  19. "DP Remnant Viewer" 2nd build; now with semi-arbitrary colors & "mod##" .bin/tab file support http://t.co/owjG00qZ25 http://t.co/uDnKKZWdIX

  20. The return of the tonsillitis, complete with fever etc., got in the way of me working on this some more. That, and being nudged to work on cracking BLOCKS.bin from the Star Fox Adventures E3 demo, which did pay off at least (old Dinosaur Planet level data!). Anyway, I decided to make converting textures, models, etc. a bit easier on me and finally make a proper converter for all this stuff. Up until now, I only had some separate, half-baked projects with hardcoded paths and such, them getting amended for many little things, etc., etc. Now, there's the work-in-progress "Frenda Multi Converter": It's a command line application that takes bundles of arguments, such as t="E:\Translations\NDS Etrian Odyssey Hacking\i_opn_rogo01.ntft.png","C:\cygwin\home\Daniel\DCEO2\cddata\tex\title_logo.tex",RGBA5551 or f="Droid Sans Mono",24.0,true,"C:\cygwin\home\Daniel\DCEO2\cddata\fnt\debug.bin", and creates the proper converted files from them. It can also load those arguments from an external file, such as the resconv.txt from the screenshot, which contains two lines for font conversion. I believe it should even be able to load nested resource conversion script thingys, meaning you've got one text file containing a bunch of r=C:\cygwin\home\Daniel\DCEO2\<xxxx>.txt lines, which in turn each convert, say, the resources for one part of the game - one converts all dungeon models, another converts the title screen data, another does enemy images, etc. Whew, hope that makes some sense, it's not really anything special, yet I tried to explain it in detail... or something. Gotta get back to work and add support for converting models next...
  21. RT @Abahbob: Still needs some work, but I think @xdanieldzd would be proud :Dhttp://t.co/AiLLXrbyxH

  22. It's probably just a matter of expectations, as I didn't necessarily expect it to taste like cherry-flavored bubble gum (and there's one that tastes exactly like this Dr. Pepper). It's... well, after having drank most of the bottle, it's actually pretty good for what it is. I'll likely still gonna prefer Coke over it, tho.

  24. Found it: 1l for 1.49€ + 0.15€ deposit at Edeka. Now here's hoping this wasn't a mispurchase... *goes to drink some* ...*takes a minute to open the bottle as it was shaked during transport*... smells like some kinda bubble gum... and tastes like it, too. It's not bad, I guess... but not really good, either... ...yeah, I'll mainly stick to Coke and Pepsi Twist, soft drink-wise, but maybe get this once in a while to mix things up.
  25. Hm, I'm not 100% sure, but IIRC the nearest here REWE has it. Also "yes" to the bigger town or, well, city (Wiesbaden to be exact), so that might be a factor, too. I'll have a look when I get to REWE again, as well as check the local Edeka's drinks/beverages store (or however to translate "Getränkemarkt"), as that's within walking distance even.
