Referring to any time you cast, iirc you can normally send the lure out much farther when casting with plenty of room.

Is the cast distance always that short, or were you just reeling it in as you cast to shorten the distance? If the former, I wonder if there's a way to correct that. Perhaps there is a byte somewhere in the file that controls the distance. Also, can you actually catch a fish, or does the game crash/hang/etc when Link tries to pull it out of the water? I'm surprised at how much of this actually works; with some additional information such as dialogue and getting the right music and sounds playing, we could very possibly see a fully functional Fishing Pond in Majora's Mask identical to the predecessor.

Unless you signed into the eShop before the price drop and obtained Ambassador status for your 3DS, you will not be able to download these games, and Nintendo has stated that they have no plans on releasing them to non-Ambassadors, even with a price tag. Anonymous Notes I: From the Abyss For $2.00 it's a pretty fun pick-up-and-play mini-RPG. Neat combat/skill system and addictive (with some limitation). My only gripe so far is the rather high difficulty/level length curve and the lack of varying level designs. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Maya was, in fact, confirmed to be the program used to create at least one of the beta maps in Wind Waker. In fact, the model found in-game was a completely unmodified Maya model file native to the program. My guess is that most major gaming companies likely use 3DS Max or Maya, as they are currently the most sophisticated modeling tools on the market. Some less financially-inclined companies may use Blender, as it is a reasonable substitute for the other two given its amazing price tag (free). Seeing as how I will be studying this extensively next year, I have a feeling I will probably be able to answer that much more definitively in the future.

Brawl largely addressed the problems Melee had with clones. For example, whereas Fox and Falco had nearly identical fighting styles in Melee, they now differ vastly in many of their attacks. They took it a step further by adding Wolf who is of a similar class but, again, has nearly an entirely unique play style in that he's the heavyweight of the three. Regarding Metal Mario, I'm pretty sure the metal box has addressed that since Melee, unless you mean adding him as an entirely new character. I think that would actually bring back complaints with clones; character attributes aren't the only aspect to a fighter. Moves are probably even more prominent in identifying clones--which, as stated above, Brawl addressed very well.

Bear in mind that the newb pack doesn't exist anymore, but if you're familiar with navigating folders in your computer, you should be able to handle setting up the plugin yourself with the vanilla emulator package of PJ64 (inb4 spinout yells at me). One deviation from the guide is that I recommend getting the latest version of 1964's plugin and using that instead of Rice, as it has much greater stability and some more features than the plugin included in that guide. The setup is still the same, however.
