The word "ripoff" now has no meaning to me whatsoever. In rhetoric, this is considered very poor use of repetition. I hate Apple, but because of their policies and philosophy on consumer rights regarding their products. I don't really give a damn if their products are unoriginal; features shouldn't be patented, and if something is useful and convenient, there's no point trying to invent a different way to do effectively the same thing. That's as stupid as arguing every game console ever is a rip off of the Game & Watch because it's a machine designed to play video games.

I don't normally get excited over just viewers, but holy damn xdaniel, this isn't "just" a viewer. Seeing actors rendered properly like this is quite a feat (I'm especially looking at Link), and it sounds like you've made a major contribution in terms of getting matrices down. As I've said in the past, you do damn good work and I'm very excited to see where this takes off. Also, to address Zeth's problem, it's definitely not because of running a 64-bit OS, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and this works fine without even needing to run in compatibility mode. Speaking of, the program works beautifully for what it's meant to be--I can't stress enough how awesome a job you're doing, man.

Armos, I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you, belittle your comment/opinion or do anything you're implying I'm guilty of. I was presuming by this comment: that you meant NK was constantly trying to drop a nuclear bomb on the USA, which isn't at all true. I'm not mad, I'm just presenting facts as I understand them and refuting false claims as I see them; if I misinterpreted your comment as a factual assertion in the manner I just described, then you have my apologies.

...Really? North Korea isn't trying to deploy nuclear missiles targeted at the USA. Unless I misunderstood the sources cited here, they're just doing nuclear weapons testing in international waters, which the UN has asked them to stop doing. For the reasons I posted about well above, no one is going to drop a nuclear bomb on anyone because of the concept of mutually assured destruction. No one is in danger of anything. Enough said.

Shitty music tastes an idiot does not make. In other words, correlation does not imply causation. I fully agree with you that people who cater to such "musicians," in an extremely loose usage of the word, tend to be very annoying as a general rule of thumb according to my experiences, but you also cross into the dangerous territory of generalizing people. That, to say the least, is not good, especially in as delicate an argument as this. It is impossible to ever expect humans to unanimously conform to specific intellectual standards; there will also be those who, be it through their own refusal to embrace intellectual development or for reasons beyond their control such as mental disabilities, will fall short of what we might call "average." That's the nature of the bell curve phenomenon, and try as you might, nothing anyone can do will ever eliminate it from being an accurate representation of humanity's intelligence across the whole population. However, what can be done is reducing the span of that curve--in other words, reducing just how much more or less intelligent a person one standard deviation from the mean is than that average person. Also, it's worth noting that, on average, humans are becoming smarter, slowly but surely. Every day we learn a little more about the world around us, and every so often new textbooks come in to schools with that information, and even the most belligerent of students fail to learn absolutely nothing at all at some point in school. Compare ourselves as a whole to where we were just 50 years ago; at that time, only the most skilled and capable engineers were capable of operating the computers that happened to exist, whereas now we have computer that outclass those lumbering behemoths in magnitudes that fit in our pocket, and I'm fairly sure I'm not alone in believing a significant portion of people in the world are familiar with how to operate those computers we call smartphones. Anyway, that rambling aside, I'm basically in agreement with Nero here. A disaster such as 1984 or Idiocracy is so monstrously unlikely that it's probably never going to happen, and humanity is still advancing regardless of how stupid a few members of the species can be.

It's not just you, I think there are a few kinks to hammer out with the latest upgrade the GCN just went through. It's a shame Shadow Fire isn't around at the moment, but it looks like even though these error messages are cropping up, PM's are still being sent successfully, so the best I can recommend is wait this out until he gets back and can address the problems.

To be fair, Blinx, even as well as I know you, that struck me as a bit off-the-wall and for a moment I wasn't sure if you were serious or not. Even as a joke, saying you hope a city gets a nuclear bomb dropped on them isn't really something anyone should go around saying without expecting to upset a few people, so I would suggest refraining from that. That's all I have to say about that, and all I expect to be said on the matter.

That's just me being an idiot in the ACP modifying member titles, they don't denote anything special. By default, titles are set to Newbie for 10 posts or less, Member for 11-50 posts, and Advanced Member for 50+ posts (iirc).

I'm right with you there, man. When I first got into the Zelda hacking community I felt like such a noob and an odd duck. Give it a bit of time, though, and be an active, constructive poster, and you'll quickly find your place. Like Nero, I met a lot of my closest internet friends through this site and its previous incarnations. I've been Naxylldritt pretty much my whole internet life since I got started in the Zelda modding community; I've tried changing it a few times (to Aedus or esper or somesuch) but my current name is always what's stuck. You may as well come up with something unique that really defines you and try to stick with that once you find something not taken, because what's not taken on a relatively massive community like PSN is probably also available in several other places.

Speaking of surreal audio experiences, this made me stumble across an interesting (though very spottily researched) phenomenon known as autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR). Having browsed a few of the notable examples myself, it does seem to be a legitimate thing and is quite relaxing. That, of course, is quite opposed to this video, which definitely gave me a general feeling of unease with a few spikes of anxiety, especially with the introduction of the buzzsaw. It certainly goes to show just how powerful our sense of hearing is, both in perception and in affecting our state of mind.
