    Cutscene Actors?

Hi everyone, I need to know if anyone has a list of cutscene actors, or can we form one? If someone could list the values used on which character in a cutscene (in its data) it would be useful in figuring out this room I'm looking at. This room has cutscene data, but no actors have or have ever been active in this room.
  2. Some pointers would be to re-convert your songs, and get Tommy! to import them manually, you can do the transfer with a patch later, he doesn't even have to use your modded ROM to do it.
  3. If you want me to get that speed editing tool done sooner, just ask. I only need to make an extra change for it to be working for speed values. I'll be motivated to work on it once rl issues are sorted out a bit more.
  4. Let me say that I'm "jealous" of some hacker's talents, yet I have to remind myself that it's a good thing to have people specialized in other aspects. But I mean jealousy in a good way, pushes me to do more. I'm pushing myself to be more hands-on lately (hence the N64 console custom modding I'm doing, might move up to a handheld N64 mod). I'm yearning to make a discovery, and I have a phobia of touching hardware (like circuit boards and chips) I need to break past. My soldering project will be good practice, and if it works I'll keep that for a future handheld mod. I have real life things I need to do, and break past my shell. I envy so many great minds and scientists, and have had things I wanted to do as a younger girl. When I was in elementary school, I already had an idea, but because of life's problems, I walled myself off in my room, and turned to hacking as a way to test my potential. Modding anything right now is good to see if I can truly analyze and test some real piece of science. I envy everyone's different talents on this community. Sometimes I wish I could do them all, and I've come to a complex crossing because of my ideas conflicting with my hobbies. I use my theory skills to aid people where I can. Hands-on tasks, I'm a pansy because I have to analyze things before taking the next step, so you won't see me making tools until I know what that particular thing is for by testing it myself.
  5. Also, in case you're wondering, if I don't respond after you message me for a while, it's probably because I went to bed. I usually don't log out as I get tired easily and just want to sleep as soon as I get tired. I've been trying to get my sleep schedule back, and I've been having random sleep patterns of sleeping in until noon, or waking up as early as 7am... Like I slept good last night, but I woke up at 1pm for some really weird reason... I haven't been playing DDR lately, and might pull it out today.
  6. That's the other thing... I don't make model tools, or music tools... my stuff is logic based. I think we have a good team, and sadly not everything works with tools either. I don't know what to say about the others HeavyZ, but I don't mind explaining the hex logic of things. I mean, that's as basic as I get. I mentioned how sloppy my tool would be importing music of custom length, because it's something the user would have to know to look for. But you know... this happens a lot, hackers have their own way of doing things. It helps when we get a team of different specialties, and hell I'm grateful for it. I'm usually sitting here like a hermit all "durrr" until things move again. We keep things moving when it happens... sometimes you just have to wait. I mean back in ZSO we were hacking without much structure... I was hacking a compressed ROM wondering wth I was looking for, and by magic I poop out some cool videos of stuff that didn't completely flow well. Spoof videos. People loved them, but I was just being a special-minded person just looking for hints of ways to change data, and hacking that Iron Knuckle to auto-start was pure luck. I couldn't repeat that until I learned more about MIPS. But hey, if you feel you need help with your mod, why not consider a helper on it? Like get someone to import music for you. I mean things are rreeeaaalllyyy slow lately, but if you need an extra hand, ask on your topic. There's always some credit you can give... even some basic actor-hacked mods use a team (with other stuff involved). ZSO was mostly big on actor-hacking at the time, and we had people popping in and out of the site quite often.
  7. The tracks are the same, the sequences are the same, however because 57 is a different value, it includes a different instrument. They will sound slightly different because of different instrument sets. However, I don't know why it does not just use the same pointer as 28's Fairy Fountain. Refer to my video of Ganondorf playing the Hyrule Castle theme... all I did was swap the pointer with the one for the Hyrule Castle theme, but I did not change Ganondorf's organ instrument set. So Ganondorf could have probably just used the value to the castle theme instead of the actual address according to that theory.
  8. Good point, I'll probably look into something else for a bit then... see if that sparks anything.
  9. My brain today: My brain after HeavyZ just told me he wants to give up now: I feel like doing nothing now... I don't even have the drive this holiday for much of anything... I had an awesome dream last night, and I might brainstorm some stuff. Things are not coming together for me to do anything else today... maybe I'll sort through some stuff again, look at my projects. Seriously, I hope people aren't quitting because they're stuck on something... there aren't tools for everything yet, and there may never be tools for everything. I'm feeling rather demotivated today...
  10. Recently I reviewed a particular sequence, 57 - Fairy's Fountain. In the list of pointers, this music sequence does NOT use a pointer: 00000028 00000000 02020000 00000000 Instead it apparently uses the value 28, which is also Fairy's Fountain... I am unsure of how this works, but does anyone have insight into why sequence 57 uses the value 28 instead of the address? I assume it uses it as a literal sequence value because it has a size of 00000000, perhaps checking the size to use it differently?
  11. Thanks, that's a much better image than the one I found. I mean it just looks like I only need to transfer the chip in the proper position, but I need to try my hand at de-soldering the first one.
  12. BEHOLD, my temporary hybrid N64 creation: Currently I just put in the 1996 NTSC motherboard from my old black console, but I have the Australian PAL N64 motherboard sitting out... I will have to de-solder the PIF(P)-NUS chip when I find time to do so. Good little test item to play around with. I find the metal casing around the old 1996 US NTSC N64 motherboard is more efficient where the case actually presses down the thermal paste cubes to the chips on the board... the PAL N64 has a cheaper case cover that doesn't make full contact with the thermal paste on the top shell (seen by the indents): I'll eventually make a hybrid version of the 2000 PAL N64 motherboard, but after the cleaning on my older one, seems to be working a lot better... looked like someone took a dump inside the black one I had.
  13. In my statement about the video showing a modified Japan console to play NTSC US games, it's quite possible it was NTSC, however the modification works on any N64 console. Nintendo's region-lock is a piece of plastic and the video format. Bleh. Although the whole PAL/NTSC was something already there to begin with. All the parts and components in this N64 are shiny and new-looking. Question: do you think it's possible to solder the RGB chip from the NTSC to the PAL motherboard? I'll verify the configurations, but the layout looks identical from first view... but eh, we're talking about the video output... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Not quite identical, this revision is very similar, but has 2 extra capacitors on the bridging to the video output: I also noticed some minor details different, such as the paths are more in some spots, and in different directions somewhat. This one is: NUS-CPU-09-1 (2000) USA/Japan Notes:- Another minor revision which is perhaps the last N64 motherboard revision. Appears to be almost identical to the NUS-CPU-09 including the indented heatsink and transparent green cartridge slot. So far this revision has only been found in the Limited Edition Gold N64's which were exclusive to Toys R Us and have serials starting with NS30*******. Source: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=27684 It also appears to have the MAV-NUS chip like the PAL N64 I have... not too much differences on it. From the looks of things, I have a pretty rare N64 on my hands here. -------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT 2: I know, I read into that part. I'll see what I can do with this for now since the parts in it are so crisp. ----------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT 3: I found a topic on modding an N64 to use PAL and NTSC modes... it's as simple as switching between two PIF-NUS chips: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e36/DarthCloud/post-9-1075809366.gif PIF(P)-NUS is in the PAL console I currently have.
  14. MMMMMMM, dirty little... ------------------------------------------------------ NUS-CPU(P)-03-1 (2000) Australian Notes:- So far there is only one report of this revision from Australia, and it is not known if it was ever used in Europe. This revision uses the 'indented' heatsink like the NTSC NUS-CPU-09 revision. Some small differences noted between this revision and the NUS-CPU(P)-02. One key difference are missing SMD components for S-Video output, meaning this revision does not support S-Video as standard (Really cheap Ninty) The missing components can be seen on the NUS-CPU(P)-02 revision at locations DA7, DA8, C11 and C12 - these positions are no longer labelled on this revision. DA7 and DA8 are diode arrays used for ESD protection, and C11 and C12 are capacitors for EMI reduction. None of these components are strictly necessary for the S-Video output to work, but Nintendo also connected the Luma and Chroma signals directly to ground where C11/C12 used to be - this connection would need to be cut to restore S-Video output on this revision. This is probably the very last PAL revision. source: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=27684 Looking at the notes, my PAL version has an MAV-NUS RGB chip, whereas Japan/US NTSC chips are VDC-NUS for RGB. Looks like I'll need a converter.
  15. Update: it seems as though I have the wrong PAL that this supposedly works on... the PAL N64 system modded was a Japanese PAL system, while this one is a UK PAL system... There are region converter cartridges to allow other games to run on other consoles, and I'm guessing the Japanese N64 is the only one that can be easily modded without the need of this special cartridge. If anyone has some ideas or insights on this, let me know.
  16. This goes for a lot of model-making, anything, keep in mind about those things. Also, on a side-note: I had no idea you could measure the models in inches in Sketchup... neat.
  17. Like a mad scientist: Alas, it was already borked, and modding it to be region-free gave me unsatisfactory results. It was found with trash from my uncle... possibly the dump, or at some location during his work. It was so crisp and clean, I was hoping it would work. I ended up with white lines on my screen trying to play Pokemon Stadium 2.
  18. I got Christmas money, and guess what I want to buy? Without thinking I ordered ED64Plus. Looked around, found out it's a pirated copy of Everdrive 64 1.0. I was hoping for some kind of deal because it was at $99.99, and shown in some videos to work on US N64 consoles just fine. So, called my credit company to cancel the order, they sent it to "pending" as of 1am on Sunday. I am not happy. They say it will be canceled in 3 days if the payment isn't taken, and if it is taken the guy can be tracked down. I think Kritzz would LOVE to get their hands on the people illegally copying their cartridge. The guy at superufo CLAIMS he/she already sent the package today (e-mail sent at 3am -5 GMT, superufo is Hong Kong +8 GMT), but I sent the e-mail to cancel during Sunday, and I went to bed around 11pm. The person should have received the e-mail at 9pm in my time, 10am in their time (office should have opened 10am monday). I got an e-mail at 3:51am with the owner claiming the package was sent, then another e-mail (automated no-reply@superufo.com) at 5am saying the payment was not found. I call shenanigans on this bastard, and notified my credit company today about the matter. Basically assured me the payment will be canceled in 3 days if not processed, and if it is taken to their account, they'll track them. I also asked them about the policy on the website: 15. Return Policy If for any reason you, the customer, decide to return any unopened product to Superufo.com and there will be a 30% restocking fee. Also, you would not be credited for any freight incurred. The guy from the credit company assured me if the guy charges me for it, they'll deal with it. I also notified them that this guy was creating fake products from an existing product, no details given. I also e-mailed Krikzz today. I don't know what legal action Krikzz can take (given flash carts might be illegal enough), but regardless this is an opportunity to get this wank caught. I told them to cancel my order and this fucktard sends me it without confirmed payment? BS. On top of this bullshit, it's Hong Kong. Yup, looking good China, looking good. >_> (ps: coincidentally my Kapersky is picking up random files being sent to my computer, and a trojan. WOO, bring it on bitch.)
  19. Back to an old favorite theme of mine, Castlevania 64 intro theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaqZDCa26KA or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Swx5_wtx0-w
  20. Awesome stuff guys. I got offered a big basket of chocolates, truffles, and goodies. Sadly I had to turn it down though, I'm allergic to all of what was in it (sugar intolerance and I have reactions to processed products). Lately there's been a sugar allergy reaction with me... I had three tiny pieces of deserts one day, and I got puffy, and I had a sugar rush reaction where my heart was racing. I'm not even obese and I avoid junk food throughout the year. My reaction to certain sugar products lately is scary. I feel amazing without too much sugar in my life though. I LOVE dark roast coffee with 100% Arabica beans lately, and I got a big can of it earlier this week. I also have some cappuccino mixes, and plan to make my own home-made ice cappuccinos with it. So yummy!
  21. Maybe we can even show something we got for Christmas here... I got a painting from my mother: It's worth a lot, but someone gave it to her as a gift. I believe the painter herself donated it to my mother.
  22. Zelda Dubstep, found a really good mix this time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nxhhf3asfdQ So difficult to find good dubstep sometimes, and I'm not a big fan of dubstep, more of a upbeat music lover.
  23. Sorry to hear, but that happens any time of the year for different people. That's life. At least your ferrets went peacefully~ :3 My Christmas is full of family issues, but I've become more humble and less materialistic in my latest years. I get the cheap gifts, which does bother me when my cousins get $100 worth of gifts and I get $20 of gifts. Doesn't stop me from enjoying my life. Merry Christmas all.
  24. Have fun opening presents guys!!! X3
  25. Sure, just curious so I can plan a re-haul of my models for re-importing, including the chain chomp. Majora's Clock, Chain Chomp, and Unicat will need a re-import and some organization if the stuff will be larger than last time (assuming more calls are being placed to fix the errors), luckily I have plenty of space from one model I ditched last time. Not a big concern, I knew you'd figure out the problems. Going great. I've been relaxing from school stress the last week or so, so I might've missed your notice, or just forgot.
