  1. Because all I can see is Twinrova spewing blood from her chest when you hit her, or the Skullkid bleeding... it becomes VERY uncomfortable when you consider what you're going to fight. Sure, I can see blood on some things, but the enemies in OoT were never made for gore. If Nintendo put blood on Keese or Guays or Cuccos, it would have PETA on their asses. It just doesn't fit. (Even though PETA already went on Nintendo's ass over Cuccos I think?)

  4. I think blood would ruin it... it would become too much of a gore fest more than a childhood memory. However, I see the possibility of maybe a custom undead Wolfos spewing blood, yet I don't see it as appropriate for all enemies.
  5. I'M GOING TO RAGE!!!! I re-calculated the CRC, and tested every combination of changes I have made in my ROM, and even changed the title screen to load to the know-it-all brother's house. I checked every code hook, and changes made, and nothing is activated at the start of the game that would cause this problem. I tested every possibility I can think of, from audio, to Link's actor, to code hooks, to the stuff I copied to the end of the ROM. NONE of them ALONE are crashing the console, but all of them combined ARE. HeavyZ has been extremely patient with me, and I give him massive credit for testing my changes in every fucking combination possible without knowing what kind of "tests" he's going to end up with. I've debugged nearly everything I can think of, including importing the audio, the map, the changes to gameplay_keep, and Link! Those files alone do.... NOTHING! Either something is wrong with the CRC calculations, or the console is doing another check, because afaik it's nothing I can fix in my mod! I am using rn64crc.exe to do the calculations, and HeavyZ has participated in BILLIONS OF FUCKING TESTS!!! Since the crash in my mod still occurred in the know-it-all brother's house, I can only assume it has something to do with adult Link, however nothing in my notes show Link's code being activated on game start.
  6. I think the OoT Link fits with the theme of the weapons used, especially when OoT Link uses a lot of two-handed items.
  7. I have recently discovered a strange DMA function call within OOT's code: What is strange about this you ask? It's practically unused in casual gameplay. In fact, the strangest thing is it loads all the PERS_SZP and Yay0 files from 03FEB000 and onward. By removing BEQ T9, R0, 0x800BD2FC, the PERS-SZP data is loaded to where ever the A1 points to, which, in the test, was loaded to 801625D0. My question is, why? It also contains the DebugMessage function JAL 0x80002130, which suggests to me that this is an old debug call.

  11. Strange... even I have an unedited rom with Yay0 blocks... anyways, the space seems to be useable at the end of the rom with no console crashes so far. I am using a massive chunk more than 5C750 in length.
  12. Oh I know that, I was doing a comparison that at least Nintendo ATTEMPTS to be good, and makes a good effort on their part. A lot of their games are super complex (such as Mario Galaxy). Well, perhaps when Capcom goes out of business, someone will buy the rights to Megaman, or it will go to a better company. Megaman still has life to him, none of the fans loss their real devotion for Megaman because of shitty spinoffs.
  13. Yay0 files are compressed files for Pokemon Stadium 2, either PERS-SZP or PRESJPEG, but the data has been cut off by OOT being written over. Also, if spinout is sayong that, he should do some more research. I did some digging on the matter, and xdan has done research into it.   14. They may have made crap, but they put a lot of effort and money into that crap. Their fault for not asking the fans what they like, I think companies like Nintendo either just know what people like, or survey people, then improve on things (sometimes). Every company tries to "predict" the market, which is retarded because they could conduct surveys on gamers. I don't know, these companies like this are just stupid, and fall like Sega.
  15. This is a warning to anyone making a mod, and want it playable for Console... if you alter any of the FFFFFFFFFFFFFF's before 03600000 (Debug rom), it WILL NOT WORK ON N64 CONSOLES!!! It's possible this is a check for the console to verify if the ROM is modded, but it could also be used for something else. I have not tested anything after 03600000, but it's probably good to use as it looks like garbage data left over from the Nintendo's systems when they compiled the game. It's said to be remnants of Pokemon Stadium 2, and that's likely all it is. Junk data by Nintendo's systems left as scrap. Surely it's confusing, but I doubt it's anything significant to Zelda Ocarina of Time as there are no hooks for the data from what I can see. That's not to say it is confirmed as not being used, but it seems to be just that... crap from Pokemon Stadium 2. This was tested with the help of HeavyZ, and some testing.... LOTS OF TESTING!!!

I have a lot, but the one I have come up with lately was an old cartoon called Mummies Alive: I also used to watch a show called Freaky Stories (Canada only I think?): The rules are simple: just put spoiler tags around your videos (or pictures) to reduce loading issues for other users.

  19. I love how shiny everything is... some things are missing (like my profile ratings and the shoutbox), but this is much more pleasant on the eyes.
  20. To find what is the data past 03FED000.. (yes, I am asking this time) I haven't had time to study it, but there is a .c file in where there is a Yay0, just around PERS-SZP. Something called "_tex_mdl.c.dum". To me it looks like it means "texture model" in c, and dum=dump? I wonder what significance it holds, because I overwrote that data (I know it's bad, so don't complain about it it was a test) and HeavyZ tried to run it on his N64 console, but the rom failed. It seems to hold some significance, and not some data left over from Pokemon Stadium 2. Perhaps some of it after 03600000 is junk data, but the rest might hold some significance in the N64 hardware using it. Since it it near the end, it might be confirmation data that the console uses to verify the rom, much like the CRC. And yes xdan, I saw your comments on unseen64 (doing some digging).
