My gosh. What if we, as a community, made a new GBC Zelda game (in the style of the Oracles) as well as a new N64 Zelda game (in the style of OoT/MM) and with the gameboy reader, connected them in certain ways. Maybe you could unlock secret items and a bonus dungeon or something. What if!

There seem to be multiple Beta Dodongo's Caverns. Will you recreate all of them, putting them together if even some rooms seem to be evolutions of predecessors (the main room for instance)? What will you do for the unseen spaces between beta screens—imagine (as accurately as possible) what might be there, and to the best of your ability connect said areas to as many other beta areas as possible within the realm of reasonability? I.e. Beta Death Mountain Trail connects to Dodongo's Cavern/Turtle Rock.

What a sad truth. I almost don't want to believe it because Moore's condolences are well worded, but yeah... Isn't he a new head CEO though? Or has EA's support (or lack thereof) for Nintendo been of his collar?

I missed you and you know it.

Thank you Hiroshi Yamauchi.

Jet Force Gemini is one of a handful of N64 titles I always wish I had played as a youngin'. Rented it once and loaded someone's save file. Had no idea what I was doing and generally didn't enjoy the gameplay. Still, it was Rare, and Rare + N64 = magic, so it must be good. I miss the golden days of Rareware, though I'm probably preaching to the choir with such a sentiment. I have fond, foggy memories of DK64. Only rented it once or twice and didn't play much; just loaded someone else's save file and explored some structures at sea. It left, again, foggy memories but not bad ones—and I repeat 'foggy' because the game is super dense with fog because of draw distances or whatever. I think one thing that surprisingly turned me off back then was how similar it was to Banjo-Kazooie. I fully understood that Rare were the developers behind both games so of course it could/did resemble BK, but it did so... too much—to the point I felt the game suffered from borrowing invented elements from BK without innovating much on its own. Of course, I didn't play enough of the game to carve a proper review, but elements like this: The character pad. Oh well, whatever. I loved Star Fox Adventures and that just expanded on a lot that Rare explored in BK, BT, DK64, and probably GFJ as well. I firmly thought that SFA would develop into its own subseries, but it was a one-hit wonder. Beautiful game. I've still got my copy, so maybe I'll give it a whirl sometime. As I remember it, it felt like equal parts Zelda and Jak & Daxter, playing like the former and looking like the latter. Damn, gaming memories... I am getting freaking nostalgic. Gonna start tearing up soon. Rampage World Tour Buck Bumble Blastcorps Rocket: Robot on Wheels Clayfighter 63 1/3 Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon Tonic Trouble Space Station Silicon Valley B.I.O.F.R.E.A.K.S. (retarded) Dark Rift (awesome, but awful) Nightmare Creatures Gauntlet: Dark Legacy Sonic Adventure 2 motherfucking Battle Treasure Hunt & raising and punishing Chaos in Chao hell 4ever. I'm gonna stop there.

In case my words came across misleading, in no way was I suggesting RDR and Skyrim are bad games (especially RDR, fuckin a). Just that, despite all the good they bolstered (especially RDR, fuckin a) I found missing something... Maybe big blockbuster games with multi-million dollar budgets take themselves too seriously. I guess I've just grown tired of the increasingly realistic gaming trend. I enjoy the games that feel like games.

I'm probably jinxing my 360 as I type this, but I bought mine in October '08 and have never had a single problem with it. Sure, it's clunky and kinda slow now, but every 360-owner I know has gotten the RROD at least once (some upwards of ten times). I consider myself very fortunate to have not dealt with this problem. I left the 360 at home after I moved out and since, my brother—who has never been too interested in gaming—has been playing the hell out of Rock of Ages, and now Limbo and From Dust. I've got a sizable library of on-disc games, but none of them attract him as much as these indie arcade games... and frankly, I don't blame him! They possess a level of artistry that just gets diluted in the blockbusters. Sure, Skyrim and Red Read Redemption may provide giant, beautiful open-world experiences, and a lot of concept art and design built the aesthetic backbone of the finished products, but they aren't art (well, at least I don't see them that way; this of course can be argued and I'm not here to do that). Limbo though... I love where we are in gaming. The technology has evolved in both accessibility and prowess enough that indie developers can, and are—increasingly so—making the more interesting games. I find I am piqued by the unexpected in gaming way more than the great disease that is sequelitis. I'll continue to play the new Zelda and Smash Bros games just because I love them, but they just aren't as interesting as the new, young, creative spirit found in the emerging renaissance that might become a second golden era of gaming: the indie gaming boom of the 2010s. I'm excited to see what happens over the remaining 7 years of this decade.

So damn good. It's a totally new piece of music, but sounds like it was originally written for Majora's Mask tried and true. I am anxious to hear more of your music EJ!

Ahh, his portrait looks so fitting in-game! It's bizarre, because it's equal parts Cloud and Link. I see it and think, "Clou-OH... Link!" It's just bizarre to me—maybe because I made it? No, it's definitely because It's a FF7-style portrait of Link with Cloud's face. To best describe it, it's a portrait of Cloud cosplaying as Link. Great job on the mod Satoshi. I'm glad you followed through with it into completion. Your devotion to your projects is a great quality of yours. Do not falter!

OoT Link originates from the same era as FF7. It's only appropriate that he be in the game. If I were making this mod, I would retain all of the original character models, replacing Cloud with OoT Link's model. I'm not nostalgic for these PS2-ish quality character models, but I am nostalgic for all things vanilla FF7 and OoT. Oh well, the mod is shaping up really nicely so far.

Someone should make the horses in Lon Lon Ranch killable. Give them the most blood to spurt. Time to slice up some equine fillet! /awful idea /why not

Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter by comcept USA (creator of Megaman)
Spirereplied to DarthDub's topic in General GamingSo Capcom only has $152 million in the bank, and Mighty No. 9 has gathered over $2 million alone in donations. Your move Capcom. I'd like to see Mighty build into such a successful franchise that it prompts Capcom to sue, but lose the case, dragging them closer to bankruptcy. Nintendo steps in to offer a hand and purchases Capcom. Mega Man stays in Smash Bros. forever. Comcept USA goes on to be a very successful company that listens to and respects its fans and Inafune continues to make awesome games until the end of his days. Meanwhile, Square-Enix is secretly doing horribly, so Disney purchases them. Kingdom Hearts flourishes like never before! Super Smash Bros. absorbs Marvel vs. Capcom and transforms into Super Smash Bros. vs. Disney Infinite wherein Nintendo, Capcom, Disney, Marvel, Final Fantasy, and STAR WARS characters quarrel in a super-sandbox gameworld that can be fully customized to play like anything. Smash? No prob. Mario Kart? Of course! 3D adventure collectathons that span the universes of all of these franchises? You can do it. Gaming will never be the same. -
I'm just not nostalgic enough for Wind Waker to prefer the original. The HD version looks superior in every way. WW is a game that they could break and mold into any form and I'd be okay with it. Hell, I'd be happy if Nintendo changed any single game in the series into something vastly different, even OoT and MM. By vastly different, I mean as far as rerouting the story, changing the aesthetic into something new, rebuilding any amount of in-game areas, and even changing half the inventory. I just don't mind changes at all. I pre-ordered WWHD yet I don't plan on buying a Wii U anytime soon. I'm curious to see how long the box is going to sit around before I start aching to play it, and promptly purchase a Wii U (preferably the Zelda edition of course).

It looks way too high. Beyond that, it doesn't match the OoT aesthetic—maybe TP. If it works, it could be stripped down a bit.

The sub-text under the "Topics I've participated in" and "Recently discussed forum topics" is a terrible grey that's difficult to read. It should be similar to the light blue, just slightly darker. Also, the background color of the "Reply to this topic" box at the bottom of thread pages is too similar to its border. It should probably be a few shades darker.

I saw Portugal The Man last year. Never really listened to 'em, but they put on a good show. My experience was extra special because I happened to be with a good friend who nigh worships them. Always fun to go to shows with people who genuinely love the music. The last album I bought was Tomahawk's Oddfellows in January: Another great entry in Tomahawk's discography. It returns to their roots after their Native American departure with 2007's Anonymous, but manages to evolve into new territory, incorporating some unprecedented punk and classic Patton crooning to dither the growls. It's good. As of writing this post, I was listening to this: Which is awesome.

I find this far more appealing than the actual Vita. I don't game on the go, so this is ideal for me if I were suddenly interested in the Vita's library.

I can confirm that Mellow said the project had existed for a long time, and it was only with Ura's demise that it was publicly greenlit. When I joined, work was beginning for the first time. Before that, it was just ether.

Mellow, I don't know where development stands on this project, but when I left 4 months ago, I left because I sensed the project was falling apart. Since then, I've neither seen or heard anything to suggest it has picked up its pace. Is Antiqua in development or development hell? Please be honest. None of us want to see this become another Ura. At this point, keeping secrets about development is only going to make progress look grim. Might as well show everything so far. People would rather know exactly where it is in development—if even it's in an embryonic stage—than to be kept in darkness. That's what destroyed Ura. Remember how Zeth kept extending Ura's lifespan by releasing new logos, site backgrounds, music, and concept art (I feel ill saying that), but no actual content? That's what is happening with Antiqua. Please don't allow history to repeat.

Oh god, they know how to steal my money! A legit Zelda/Monster Hunter crossover. Wtf, goddamnit. I was already considering buying this, but NOW.
