  1. Precisely. IIRC there are beta screens of the Triforce. We should pay scrutinous attention to the architecture of alpha and beta OoT, and work to restore anything that looks like it could be part of the Temple of Light. Naxy (Secant) and I spoke on skype earlier. We devised the concept of the Temple of Light being pyramidal in structure and floor layout, with the Pyramid of Power our inspiration. Furthermore, we imagined a diamond shape dungeon, mirrored pyramids pointing both upwards and downwards. The Chamber of the Sages would be located in the center, comprising a floor of its own, with three above and three below. Seven floors for seven sages. A puzzle idea: using the mirror shield and golden gauntlets, Link must push grand hourglass-shaped prisms around in a massive maze-like room. These hourglasses, when shone upon, reflect light in four directions. The puzzle would involve lining up the hourglasses in a perfect order to refract light between one another and upon energy sconces built into varied walls. In doing so, the room fully energizes and the doors open. Maybe a treasure chest appears as well.
  2. You just want to take credit. Whoever posts it needs to have formidable knowledge of Zelda hacking. I currently nominate Jason if he is not known on youtube for modding Zelda.
  3. One thing to note: whoever posts this to youtube should not be a known affiliate of a Zelda modding forum. If your presence [Jason] on youtube is often, or even slightly associated with the GCN this could bust. However, the GCN is also known for being a hub for Zelda hacking and ROM research, not just modding. I guess this point is moot.
  4. This. No matter what we do, some people will know it's a hoax. They won't be able to stop the masses from clamoring to the possible. People want to believe in such matters, so no amount of dissenting opinions will turn everyone away. Plus, BEN was a fabricated supernatural phenomenon, which both helped and hurt it depending on the beliefs of the viewer about such ghostly matters. This hoax is rooted in uncovering a previously unknown piece of Ocarina of Time. Jason's multiple failure attempts make it all the more believable. The blue light is instantly believable because such light appears when drawing the Master Sword. If we can build a convincing Temple of Light that honors the aesthetic standards and choices made by Nintendo for OoT, we can convince most people of its authenticity. The question remains: do we make it a full or half dungeon? Furthermore, do we deliberately include 'outdated' text that clashes with the narrative of OoT, since the final product purported that the Triforce was split between Link, Zelda and Ganon? As such, there would be no need to visit the Temple of Light and no means of obtaining the full Triforce. This could all be explained by being compressed within this one file that Jason "unpacked and restored".
  5. This is fantastic. Of course, we'll need to delete this thread really soon for obvious reasons. However, I think the very best hoax would be the Temple of Light & Triforce obtainment. Jason777, your mockup description of the blue light flag is very well thought-out. However, having an extreme lack of knowledge in that field, I suspect there may be some glaring loopholes to more seasoned hackers. As such, we must compile our knowledge in hopes of exposing the very perfect explanation for how this could be. You are on the right track. You see, anything beyond the Temple of Light and Triforce could easily be written off as fan-made. The Ice Temple became the Ice Cavern, but the Wind Temple became the Forest Temple albeit not wind-themed at all. We could make a convincing beta Wind Temple, but even that is riding a fine line. I implore we go the Temple of Light route. Remember this hoax? Even that lone image drove the internet nuts back in '99. That was back when photoshop and the internet itself were fairly new things (granted, they both emerged around 1990, but it took a while to really pick up). Lastly, I would love to extend my hand as a map builder and texture maker. I feel I am very proficient in both fields and I know I could contribute well to this effort.
  6. I was actually thinking of that. But I'm already doing something in that direction But you're still bored? Maybe what you're doing isn't interesting enough to you.
  7. Make a small Zelda mod. Focus on building a single dungeon.
  8. Cameron, have you actually made any work? It might prove futile to start demanding work be made for you when you've nothing to show. People aren't prone to help unless they can take you seriously.
  9. So looks matter now?
  10. Yes Caleb. Yessssss. Obey the Jehova lie so you may one day live in a mediocre suburban home with your own mediocre suburban family.
  11. Anyone mind posting some screens? I don't have the means of playtesting this right now but I'm aching to see it!
  12. The Wolfos are a great addition. I'm really curious to see if you'll retexture/remodel the town to be ruined. I could lend a hand if you'd like.
  13. I was tight on cash, so I only donated $50. I wanted to spend $125 to get the collector's bundle with all that bonus stuff, but alas, it's okay. At least I contributed to the cause! And I'll have digital copies of the game (Wii U!!!) and the soundtrack. The latter is what almost convinced me to get the $125 version. Hopefully a physical copy will be available down the road. I paid some $70 for Imaginarium: Songs from The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys so I'd love to have a physical Armikrog soundtrack to accompany that.
  14. What? EDIT: It doesn't matter if there are textures that aren't originally found in-game. Some of the textures the game simply does not recognize and will not allow a port. Uh, no. Apply textures in sketchup. That's all that matters.
  15. Eeesh, just read some things I wish I hadn't. I knew he was conservative, but not an outspoken one, especially with such fervor. He has been a great inspiration for many years now, so despite how disappointing it was to read his comments, I'm not going to let this get to me. Besides, the game is made by more developers than just he. Separate the art from the artist.
  16. Which creator? And can you link to that? Yeah, I'm worried about this. I want it to be made so badly.
  17. Hey guys, I gotta promote this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1949537745/armikrog Armikrog is the newest game from video game designer Doug TenNapel and friends! You may know him as the creator of Earthworm Jim, The Neverhood, Skullmonkeys, and Cat Scratch. If you're interested, please support this!
  18. It's Gerudo Valley ripped from OoT 3D with a custom waterfall in the background. That's all. It has nothing to do with Twilight Princess.
  19. Ura certainly was a thing. It just happened to be way over-hyped and inflated beyond the actual work done (you can thank Zeth for trying to protect his ego). Like many unfortunate games before it, Ura got stuck in development hell. That's what happens when you have poor leadership. There was more than enough fan support, but when most of the project resources are not shared between team members, it's hard to understand the scope of the project, what was in progress, and what needed to be done. Zeth was far too shady a person to lead the project. He kept us in dim lighting where we had to guess amongst ourselves what was happening, and he failed to keep the team updated on a general level. For instance, because I pried enough, I knew more information about the game than most other team members—and I was one of the last people to join the effort. It's a damn shame, because I know a number of people feel it was a wasted effort. Fortunately the work I created for Ura, while not used, was great for my personal development as a concept artist and to my knowledge, has inspired others to pursue their own endeavors. That's enough for me. While it was exciting, there are better things on the horizon.
  20. I always call it Ura (though from time to time, its overuse as URA has affected my spelling). I never understood why it was URA either. Zeth wanted to call the bonus dungeon the URA Tower, not the Ura Tower. How dumb is that? Hey guys, let's go to the FIRE Temple!
  21. That mountain looks fantastic. You've really got an eye for geography.
  22. In the 5th grade, my teacher took recess away from the boys (ridiculous). We had to sit on benches watching the girls have "fun". As a compromise, he allowed us to smash rocks on a tree stump. Smashed every finger, fracturing some I believe—but they've all healed fine. The summer before that year I stepped on a crab who was turned 90˚ on its side. Its spike went almost all the way through the arch of my foot. Was stuck on that island for a couple hours before the ferry came back. Rode an ATV in my friend's backyard once out in the country. Caught too much air, steering locked, and I crashed hard into a pine tree. Broke the ATV and I was flown with great force into some bushes. My body uprooted and flattened them into a bed, which softened my fall. Jumped over a giant pile of mulch in my neighbor's front yard once, landed hard on her concrete driveway. Still have thick scars on my arm and knees from the carnage. And some other things, various glass cuts, yadda yadda. Ultimately nothing serious though. Stupid kid shit.
  23. Too bad the Palace of Ice video is gone. That was the very best. More reason to make something even more impressive though!
  24. Amaterasu was playable in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 because she's a Capcom character. With Mega Man in Smash 4, I totally doubt her likelihood of inclusion as well. It'd be cool! That's the big sham with 3rd party. A lot would be really neat to have, but 99.9% won't make it. Smash Bros. is an elite club.
  25. @ Heavy — Square's priority with Final Fantasy are graphics. They want their games to look top-notch and Nintendo consoles have not been able to provide that since the SNES. The Playstation supported pre-rendered cutscenes and higher-resolution textures whereas the N64 failed in that regard. That's why FF7 switched to Sony (it was initially planned to be a N64 title) and since then, Final Fantasy games have primarily been on Sony consoles. In recent years, Microsoft has proven graphical prowess and thus, Square has put their titles on the Xboxes. But Square hasn't left Nintendo out of the equation entirely; they just haven't been the platform for the flagship Final Fantasy titles, which is a shame. There is a chance considering its graphical capacity, that they'll bundle FFXIII, XIII-2, and Lightning Returns into a trilogy for the Wii U somewhere down the road. The Wii U can't support FFXV it seems, but FFXIV? I wonder if they'll port it over at some point. It is definitely capable. Square has its priorities and with the Wii U, Nintendo is finally "catching up". Considering its graphical output is on par, if not slightly better than the PS3, they've finally crossed into that "decent" threshold of gaming. The Wii was just garbage. Chrono Trigger debuted and re-appeared on the SNES and DS respectively, but it was ported to the PS1 and received a sequel (Chrono Cross) on that console as well. So that series has equally appeared on both Nintendo and Sony consoles. Considering also that Square has released their games on iOS, Android, and even the Ouya, I wouldn't assume they're a partisan company; they release on whatever systems they deem fit. At one point in time they were a Nintendo developer, then they were a Sony developer, but now they're just a developer. It's entirely up to Sakurai to honor the relationship between Square and Nintendo and frankly, I don't think he cares one bit. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear basically have identical relationships with Nintendo, starting on the NES, moving to the Playstation, reappearing on Nintendo consoles in their cross-platform eras. If Sakurai were friends with Hironobu Sakaguchi or Tetsuya Nomura and one of them begged for a Final Fantasy character to get in, I'm sure it could happen. I completely doubt that has happened though, so I don't expect even a smidgen of FF representation in Smash 4.
