Hahaha, +1 to Zaneeba! I will admit, while I'm not a big Lord of the Rings fan, I definitely took inspiration from it. As well as Star Wars actually.... and I guess The Elder Scrolls? I was more actively engaging the older Zelda dungeon entrances, i.e. A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, and to a derivative extent just about every 2D/2.5D Zelda game, including Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Ya know, those temple entrances that are wide and inset.

Thanks for the support folks! I'm really glad that you enjoy my work. I will be posting all of my work here from now on, so stay tuned! Maybe. I would like to focus on my own work for the time being, however I am completely open to discussing your project and its potential. PM me for contact info. It's currently at 1601 triangles.

I would like to share with you folks my 3D cartography. I love building worlds. Since 1998, I've wanted to expand upon Ocarina of Time's Hyrule. Now that I've finally learned my way around Sketchup, I've been working on maps. I will update this thread often, though I cannot promise any degree of frequency. I hope you enjoy my work! May 22, 2013 —Sheikah Shrine Update 2: The Sheikah Shrine is carved in the façade of the highest mountain in the Snowpeak region. I will re-imagine the icy region from Twilight Princess as I see fit for insertion into Ocarina of Time's world. This is an ancient Sheikah temple built high above Hyrule, its watchful eye gazes upon the land below. What awaits within the Sheikah Shrine? Contrary to its climate, this will not be an "Ice Temple". I have plans for the interior that I'm eager to begin work on so I will keep you folks posted! Original Post: Update 1:

Spirereplied to pkjoan's topic in RandomnessThat's a nice fish. What is that alarm clock, a time/detonator bomb? Also: update on the Mountain Temple in my post above. -

I'm going to respond to the wire clothes hanger image because yours does not relate.

That's too dangerous! You will suffocate. I'm going to jump out of an airplane without a parachute.

That's too dangerous! You'll die from horrible digestion problems as your body fails to process the massive amount of wood, glass, plastic, metal, and people that comprise the Icecream Bar. I'm going to climb into my butthole.

Doing some research on the URA Zelda Restoration Project...
Spirereplied to CM30's topic in General GamingI'm in the same boat. I would like to help you CM30, but honestly Ura is something most of us want to forget about. But tell me: as an outsider to the Ura crisis, do you feel there has yet to be closure, and if so—is that what you're trying to bring with this article? -
Perfect logo. Good job Yellowhat!

Oh damnit, ninja'd. I still think this is valid.

Considering Mido is still a child in Link's Adult years, I'm guessing no. I had wrestled with this very concept before: a self-proclaimed failure hero who tackles dungeons Adult Link did not have to. I'm totally interested.

Now, now, I understand your frustration, but violence is not the answer. Because SUPER VIOLENCE IS. T-BONE THAT BITCH.

Translation: I think that's what they were getting at. Considering their redundant syntax (object object), it's not farfetched to assume that they'd repeat their points in convoluted ways, ad nauseum.

Spirereplied to pkjoan's topic in RandomnessAwesome man, I'm super excited to see progress. Also to note, and it may not really matter (I'm new to this as well), but those cylinders seem to have too many faces (and I'm not talking about those smiling faces). I mean, the room is apparently running fine, but a Scene can only contain so much collision. I know elsewhere in OoT and MM, "cylinders" are often times octagonal to cut down on polygons. How many faces do these have? Think about the blocks in the Fire Temple that shared this texture, the ones you smashed with the Megaton Hammer. They weren't exactly cylinders, but they represented cylinders and we believed them to be such. That's part of working within the aesthetic parameters of the Zelda 64 universe — you have to make people believe your simple shapes are more complicated based on what they resemble. It's actually a really fun limitation because the boundaries inspire creativity. Edit: Actually, I guess they were quasi-half cylinders if anything. They had flat backs. -

Spirereplied to pkjoan's topic in RandomnessDude, Fire Temple textures applied to a rusted [Morrowind-style Dwemer] factory? Looks like it could develop into a really nice Earth/Electric themed dungeon. Reminds me of Kefka's Tower from Dissidia! -
Northwestern — Caves — Gildust Mines — Crystal Chasm — The Undersands — Earth Temple

With that said, an "I am Error" reference would not be unwelcome

I find this particularly interesting because coupled together, the music and text work to create a very distinct air. The world can look the same, but with these two components changed, you've altered two entire methods of experiencing the game. But not only are you simply changing these, you're doing so with respect to the rest of the series, rewriting Ocarina of Time to fit in an updated chronology ca. 2013. I'm really curious to see where this goes and look forward to playing it in the future.
