I've only ever played ffx... And I cheated to beat it.

Well, I guess this is where we can agree to disagree. Twilight Princess was probably my all-time least favorite zelda game of the franchise. Keep in mind, though, that I came from an older generation of gaming, and love the earlier games far more then the new ones based on nostalgia alone. To me, it brought a dangerous piece of gaming to Zelda that should never had been added to Zelda: the collect-o-thon. Don't get me wrong: I loved Banjo Kazooie, and that was the momma of collect-o-thons. And you can argue that you have to collect TONS of crap in previous Zeldas, such as rupees and bombs. But never before this game have you had to aimlessly pick up a bunch of crap in order to PROGRESS to the next area. You had to run around as a wolf, with that annoying "sense" power on to find any of those bugs, making it so you can't even enjoy the atmosphere of the game. Shadow World was cool, if you ever got to look at it. But the "sense" power made everything black. And you couldn't enjoy it. I have many other problems with game, but I'll leave it at there.

I taught myself as well. I mean... I took art in school, but I would get terrible grades because I never completed anything. I've always tried to draw something that no one's seen before. But it usually ends up with me drawing a bunch of fat people. And yes, Blinx. He is a drunken, obnoxious cook that works on a pirate ship. He uses both a ladle, and a giant cast-iron cauldron as his weapons. IF ONLY I COULD MAKE GAMES! ARR!

Here's a concept drawing I did long ago of a pirate I wanted to make for a game or a comic or something. Sadly, since I've never made a game in my life, and I'm much too busy to do anything comic-wise, he was lost in my photobucket account. I FOUND HIM!

Dark Horse VS: Link Vs. Saxton Hale
zaneebaslave replied to Okami Takahashi's topic in General Gaming
Well, Link has a huge array of weapons, tools, magic, and last but not least, the Triforce of Courage at his disposal. Yet on the other hand... It's Saxton Hale. -
... You sick monster!

6th generation?! I lost count at the first 150!

I would speak THE LANGUAGE OF TOLKIEN DWARVES! It would be completely worthless, and I'd be one of the three people in the world who actually care.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
zaneebaslave replied to
Conker's topic in The Central HubYou know, they can blame everything they want. People are now using it as fuel to support their political viewpoints, which is absolutely sickening. The fact of the matter is, there seems to be very little in the ways of morals anymore. There has always been violence in our society, but it seems to be getting worse. Its not the fault of videogames, or guns, or religion. It is because no one seems to have the same opinion of what's evil or good anymore. There has always been a necessary communal idea of good and evil: but nowadays everything has become a matter of opinion. If we can't all see past the narrow-sighted ideals of opinion, I can see things getting worse. -
My avatar is actually some type of troll... Goblin thing I created in 3d. It had no real project attached to it, it was just something I wanted to do.

I wish there were online games that weren't boring.

Well, lets be honest, OoT is old. What it did for the community is long since past, despite being the unreachable milestone that people compare other zelda games to. In my opinion, it has been surpassed greatly by Wind Waker, as Bedrock said; the world was immense and colorful, the aura of the game was simply magical, and it was gorgeous. Not to mention, it was fun fun FUN, in a way that, to me, has yet to be remastered. If it is the goal of Nintendo to try and knock OoT of it's age-old pedestal, I believe that they are going in the right direction with.. some of the concepts of Skyward Sword. Sadly (And this is simply my own opinion), they didn't quite cut the mustard. Things about that game seem very... weird. For example, why even implement flight? From OoT and up, there was always a companion to help you get from point A to point B in a quicker pace then walking. Wind Waker, of course, did the best with this, dotting the path from point A to point B with ALL sorts of interesting things, such as different islands, moblin pirate fortresses, and mini-boss octorocs! SS didn't have that, to any extent at all. In the sky, there were pretty much about 8 islands that actually had any purpous aside from some small islands where chests popped up. It was very small, and left my craving for exploration very un soothed. I thought that maybe once I got to the surface, I could have that sense of exploration back. But that also was very stifling. There was not much to do or even look at in the three segregated lands, aside from trees... and... lava... and... sand. I see why they did all this: People complained that in TP, the world was immense but had absolutely nothing in it. So they went a different approach and made smaller landscapes chock full of... Well, still nothing, but at least it was MORE nothing! I just felt like most of the landscape design was half-hearted and sad. I also feel like art design was a little off as well. OoT is the best example of perfection in art design. If you dissect OoT's monsters, characters, landscapes, and story, you will be left with a very cliche fantasy story: A fairy boy from a land of forest sprites pulls a sword from the stone to stop an evil wizard from taking over the kingdom and kidnapping a princess. There are skeletons, ghosts, zombies, spiders, dragons, goblins, werewolves, dwarves, elves, and mermaids. But through the magic of art design, the entire make-up changes! Now it's a dark, foreboding tale of strife and struggle, and adventure across the far corners of the world of Hyrule! Skeletons are hulking, gruesome heavily clad stalfos. Dwarves are the super-strong, noble gorons of death mountain! When you look at SS, however, you get... Seal-frog. Stalfos now look more like skeletons, and Moblins look more like stereotypical goblins. It's like the art has been devolving since WW. But there are many good things about SS that I DID like. The story was far more immersive then it's past predecessors. The character development was far superior to it's predecessors, and you got to know them and like them (Groose is a glorious bastard). Combat was amazing, though slightly unpolished (Ghirahim with his DAMN SWORD-CATCHING THING). And if implemented better next time, flight might actually be a great experience.

Carpe Diem! ... Or is that latin?

There's blunt, and then there's inappropriate for the topic. You just have to learn that happy medium!

... When will they make the N64 Mystical Ninjas downloadable?! Most underrated game ever.

"I disagree, now shut up" seems to be a theme with you. I'm merely stating what I've seen from reviews, from what I've heard from other gaming forums like the Smash World forum for example, and from other places on the web. While not EVERYONE complains about the same thing at the same time, they are bound to complain about something. Like your desire for Mario to end for instance. What made you decide that? Did Mario not live up to your expectations? Have you played too many Mario games, with not enough changes? The fact of the matter is, people HAVE complained. NUMEROUS people, in fact. When Reggie stands there every year at E3, he says "We have heard your wishes, and we have granted them", that means they are no doubt getting plenty of negative feedback. This was an observation, not an attack, on anyone. But for some strange reason, you felt you needed to add that little dig in there to MAKE it an attack. Everyone has their own opinions, as you've stated. And as I'VE stated, Nintendo has been trying to fulfill their wishes. And the outcome will be, and will always be, more complaining. There's also a crap load of zombie games. Just sayin'.

There is only one rule you need to follow in order to be a modern-day gamer: You have to be a fan of zombies and apocalyptic war. I am not a modern-day gamer. Actually, if you think about it, Nintendo has given us exactly what we have wanted. I'm pretty sure you have all caught yourself talking shit about Nintendo at some point in your life about their games. Perhaps Super Mario Sunshine didn't live up to the expectations of it's predecessor, Super Mario 64. Perhaps Zelda Skyward Sword thought too far out of the box with their control setup. When you want something, Nintendo seems to always try and oblige. But it's always to an extreme that no one wants. When the masses start chiming "I hate what Mario has become! I wish the games would go back to the way they were!", KRACHOW! Nintendo pops out NEW Super Mario! It was basically the same game as Super Mario 3, but with better graphics. And for a while, people were happy with that. But now Nintendo is pumping out a fourth installment of New Super Mario, and what are people doing? Complaining. They want their 3D Mario back! When Wind Waker came out, people complained (Don't say you didn't. You may not think so now that you're older, but you did) that the art style was not Zelda appropriate. They wanted it to go back the the darker art-style of OoT and MM. KRACHOW! Out popped Twilight Princess! And when the hype of the new Zelda died down, they began complaining about it. "It was an OoT knock-off!" People shouted. "We want a new game, one that sets itself off from the other older Zeldas". WHAMO! Skyward Sword came out. And now, after the hype of the new Zelda, people are beginning to complain about it's short-comings as well. I am not trying to sound holier then thou. I have done my fair share of bitching and moaning about Nintendo. For example, I am not that big a fan of the new Zelda at all, merely on the cosmetic... metrosexual... humans who live in the sky... and that moles live in the volcano and not gorons. I also am upset that they haven't made a sequel to Mario Sunshine, my favorite game! But there is a reason that Nintendo is beginning to fear any form of creativity. And that's because we won't like it.

It's never too late to play Skyrim! NEVER!

You know what would be nice? A new game. Not just a sequel or a remake. Come on, Nintendo, I believe in you!

I never really understood the Slenderman. He's a tall, faceless guy in a tuxedo who photo-bombs perfectly good vacation photos. He's not all that scary to me, aside from looking like G-Man from Half Life. Now HE'S scary!

Well, true enough. I, for one, wouldn't know what a PS Vita was if it walked up and kicked me in the ol' Tea-Bagger. I just think that the entire advertising regime of both parties is pretty awful. But I was giving more kudos to Sony for actually advertising the product for what it is, unlike Nintendo which is just confusing the market to sell more of their "non-gaming" platforms. Which will probably bite Nintendo in the ass later on.
-
Do you seriously think that any non-gamer is going to buy a nintendo 3DS because it has a drawing program? Why would you waste money at all trying to portray a game-console as NOT a game-console, when there are far more vastly superior non-game-consoles out there? They might as well say "Hello, I'm Joe Shmoe, and I'm not a gamer. But with my 3DS, I have a very expensive door-stop!" Even if the PS Vita is not advertising as much as the DS, at least it's advertising itself as what it is: A GAME-CONSOLE.

Murr... This is a toughy. I'll just name the games I think have the BEST music, since I can't pick just one. 1: Donkey Kong Country 2 2: Donkey Kong Country 1 3: Minecraft (what? It's soothing!) 4: Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (not my FAVORITE Zelda. But it's music was the best.) 5: Mother 3
-
Well, no advertising is IMO better then the crap Nintendo is doing. Some annoying woman sitting in a diner drawing her pie and ranting about not being a gamer should NOT be a game-based system's advertising scheme. If people want a hand-held device for drawing and playing PUZZLES, they might as well get an IPad.

The last game you played is now your life, how is it?
