I don't think a Japanese 3DS is compatible with the American Nintendo Zone or whatever it's called. So I do not know how you plan to get demos unless you plan to head all the way to a hotspot in Japan each time you want a demo. :)

And as for importing games, there's no point unless you understand Japanese, and I am assuming you do not(and If you do, not fully... or am I wrong?). So, in the end, you'd be left with one damn regrettable purchase.

Their are some mods with the Japanese 3ds that will make you be able to connect with japan at gbatemp. I understand most japaneese as I lived in japan a while ago. Well, maybe I dont remember things from here and there but its enough to play a game. So their is very much reason into buying a Japanese 3ds

Forgive me, I stopped giving two damns about the 3DS hacking scene months ago and was not aware there was anything. Though I doubt whatever that is you told me about will work on the 3DS Lite(or maybe you meant the original 3DS, just assuming the Lite because this topic is about the 3DS Lite).

And yeah, I know practically nothing about you, so I was making sure you knew Japanese. :)

I don't blame you, all the 3ds hacking scene does is depend on flash cards.

Exactly buying an older version will come at a cheaper price, so the 3ds lite would have some advantages i resulting at making the older version cheaper.

I have to say, I don't get why the scene is relying on the hands on the few flash card manufacturers when I bet there's an easy enough work around with a softmod exploit similar to the homebrew channel and the bannerbomb method on the Wii... Just makes more sense yo.

I cant tell you how right you are.

All I know is I have a very capable emulator console sitting on my desk that never had a damn chance. Honestly, my PSP Go? Damn great for emulators. Take the 3DS's extra power over it? I can imagine much better possibilities. It's irritating nobody has even taken enough interest to softmod it. And I know damn well it's not because of things I hear about Nintendo making it ubmoddable, there are definitely work-arounds.

Like for example:

Nintendo has the console auto-update, or whatever it is they did, when it's closed right(I forget what people say makes it unhackable, but I think that was it)? Work your ass off to find an exploit, and once you get it, disable the fucking auto-updating from ever occurring again.

So much wasted potential here.
