Replacing Navi

How possible is it to replace Navi with Tatl? Navi's voice is soooooo fucking annoying, its probably one of the annoyances of having to play through when you got HEY LISTEN every 5 mins. Tatl was so much less annoying and the chime was nice ._.

If one of those amazing hackers could like do this and release it for the community, you will be loved forever and solved the age old annoyance.

Wouldn't we be changing the sound files?

Yeah, pretty much.

I'm interested in how you would be able to change/modify SFX, Sanguinetti ;) I have yet to learn how to do this and am eager to find out.

I asked a question like this a while back, deathbasket directed me to a sound tool for N64 games. I can take the sound from Majora's Mask, and replace Navi's voice clips with it.

Didn't that fkualol person do something similar with Majora's Mask music in OOT?

Music replacement and Sound replacement are, I wouldn't say completely, but very different things. As music a stored in sequences that access certain instruments. The instruments can be made custom by replacing a sound clip. But fkualol didn't do this. I did something similiar to fkualol in this video:

Actually he did. He was demonstrating copying over instrument banks and samples from MM. iirc he also replaced Navi's sounds with Tatl's but I can't confirm that because I don't want to go searching through loads of posts.

What magical tool is this that can replace sounds in N64 games?
