I just bought Nuts & Bolts.

Yes, I know it's what some call a mistake, but I find it fun. Deal with it.

Anyways... in the beginning of the game, I notice right away the fourth wall being brutally broken. Is the whole game's dialog like this? Just making sure, as I think it's pretty cool(for that matter, were the previous two like this? I've not played too much of them). Anyways, anybody else like this game?

Also, I would have made this in general gaming, but Tapatalk would not let me, and it won't let me move topics. D:

@Deku:

The graphics are great, and the story seems unique, at least to me. And the game is overall really fun, thanks to its gameplay. Though, I am positive you merely forgot to ask about that aspect, is all. I recommend you to at the very least download the free demo. :)

@xdan:

Wish I can give you an answer, but I played barely any of the last two to make proper judgement. Though this game IS fun. If you have Xbox Live, download the demo(and add me if you desire).

It's not solely vehicle-based like your post would lead some to belive, and you still do aquire Jiggies. But I agree, it's really fun.

It almost is. As far as I got into it, there is more stuff to do in vehicles than on foot.

Hell yeah, man. Also, I lol'd at the joke that guy with the golden monitor for a head made in the beginning of the game:

"All kids want to play these days are shooters."

I am sure I got what he said horribly wrong, but it's still laughably true nonetheless.

(for that matter, were the previous two like this? I've not played too much of them).

The previous two games were more action-adventure oriented than N&B. They were kinda like SM64, only more open-world. Yeah, judging by some gamplay vids I've seen of N&B, it looks pretty fun, too bad I'm not that much of an player for games of the racing genre, though I do acknowledge that it does have some classic action-adventuring, which I'm glad it has.

I actually directed my question at if the previous two relentlessly broke the fourth wall like this one does. I am aware how the previous two play. :3

And yeah, glad there are some people who think it's fun/looks fun.

I agree, though honestly, I kinda prefer the previous two more IMO. But N&B still looks like a pretty fun game though.

Is Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts a good game on its own? Not really. Very disappointing, honestly. However, there is one thing it is very good for.

Stop 'n' Swop, in the XBLA version of Banjo-Kazooie. Y'know... that thing Rareware took out of the original N64 version at the last moment? Yeah, it made a comeback in the Arcade release.

I just hope you didn't pay much money for it, because quite frankly, the game is really only worth about $5... and even that can be pushing it.

It's sad, that since Rare's crossover to Microsoft, they've gone downhill. Star Fox Adventures was their last decent game. Perfect Dark Zero was okay, but it put the PD franchise to shame. So yeah...

As for breaking the fourth wall, all of the BK games have done so frequently. They KNOW they're in a game... so breaking the fourth wall is a common thing in their games.

I payed the lowest an On Demand game(digital download) can be: $20, and quite frankly, I think it was worth it. In the end, opinion of how good or bad a game is comes down to who plays it, and I happen to think it's a joy to play. :3

Also, thanks for the explanation on the fourth wall thing. :)

One thing I really like about Nuts and Bolts is its sandbox approach to puzzle solving. Granted, some force you to use a particular vehicle configuration (and if you're like me and 'break' the game that's there to stop some being too easy). It's actually possible to access nearly every area of Showdown Town right off the bat with some clever use of the wrench and the many lovely boxes scattered around. Since you can activate the warp pads as Banjo and Kazooie on foot, it makes getting everywhere pretty easy. Which leads to better parts earlier on, and more notes.
