Despite all his knowledge, Silver was quickly beaten. The red-haired trainer dropped to his knees.

Impossible! He didn't even change Pokemon. That Dragonite... it didn't even break a sweat!

Lance stared down at the other trainer, before lifting him up, and using more of his medicine, this time to heal Silver's Pokemon.

"Take care of your Pokemon..." the dragon master said finally. "They are not tools of war. Draco and I share a bond. I treat him with care, and he in turn watches over me as I do him. One day, I hope you can share this with your Pokemon, for until you do, you'll never make it far. Now, the young raven-haired boy I am acquainted with shows true potential. I must go now..."

Silver watched as the Champion rushed off, presumably to help his acquaintance.

Ethan... I bet he's talking about you...

Once Ethan got to the first blocked door, he put in the password and walked in where he was immediately challenged by yet another Rocket. It was an easy battle and the Rocket ran off, swearing revenge like they all do. Sighing, he went over to a murkrow who chirped, "The Password is "Hail Giovanni!"" Ethan deadpanned, 'Someone's got an ego problem.' Shaking his head, he went off. 'I'm sick of this...'

The bird Pokemon was using Petrel's voice, an advantage since the lock would only respond to the executive's voice. Suddenly, it flew out past Ethan, stopping to land on the ground, repeating the password message in Petrel's voice. Quickly, it flew into the air, waiting for Ethan to follow.

By this time, Silver had made it to the surface, his eyes narrowed darkly. Glaring around, he summoned Snappy, ordering the water Pokemon to use its Water Gun attack to destroy the locking mechanism, stopping the hidden panel from being replaced.

"Fools..." he snickered, recalling his Pokemon. "You'll all fail anyway. What's the point of having a hideout that you can't hide?"

The teen rushed out, heading back to Goldenrod City.

As Ethan was heading into the room, a voice called out. It was a female executive, who introduced herself as Ariana. She was accompanied by a Grunt, both of them prepared to ambush him, when suddenly...

"Hold it!" Lance's voice called out, the dragon trainer rushing over with a smirk. "Starting the fun without me? That's not very fair of you. Come, Ethan... let's teach them a lesson."

Ariana proved to be quite the capable trainer, but even she was no match for the likes of Ethan and Lance, the latter who could have taken both of them on his own. Once defeated, she conceded defeat, but warned the two trainers that the broadcast signal was only a test, and that they succeeded. Nothing that happened to this hideout mattered. After the hideout was cleared, Lance stared around.

"Hmmm..." he murmured. "This machine seems to control the broadcast. In order to stop it, we need to make the Electrode faint. It's no fault of their own, so I kinda feel guilty, but it must be done. Ethan, you take the left. I'll take the right! If you don't want to make them faint, you can catch them. It would be the more humane thing to do."

~Afterwards~

The broadcasting machine was shut down, the transmission ending. Lance went around to Ethan, congratulating him, before handing him HM05, citing that he didn't need it. With a smile, he bade the trainer farewell, before heading off.

Typo... accidentally typed HM06.

Silver had finally arrived at Goldenrod City, looking around in suspicion. There was a lot of hustle and bustle.

"They're up to something..." he muttered. "They always are..."

His suspicions were confirmed, watching as a whole bunch of Grunts, as well as an executive he hadn't seen before, rush into the Radio Tower.

What could they possibly gain by taking over the Radio T--

His thoughts were interrupted when radios everywhere began playing the same thing, on constant repeat.

"...Uh... um. Testing! Testing 1, 2, 3... We're the amazing Team Rocket! It's been three years but we've rebuilt the team and restructured! We're proud to announce that we're back! Giovanni! Can you hear this?! ...We finally did it! Where could the boss be, I wonder? I wonder if he heard this announcement..."

Silver clenched his hands into, gritting his teeth. A violent anger surged through him.

"So..." he snarled. "They want my father to return just so they can fail him again and again? We'll see about that!"

Silver was prepared to rush into the Radio Tower and thrash Team Rocket, putting an end to their plans, but he happened to notice something.

"Huh?" he wondered. "Snappy... are you... okay?"

The crocodile Pokemon seemed to be pensive, and not in the mood to battle for the moment.

Could it be because Lance defeated us so easily?

The Pokemon stared blankly up at his master, before looking away again. Silver gave a slight smile.

"Okay..." he agreed. "We'll stop for a while. I don't really want to deal with anything anyway. Let's just go somewhere quiet."

Surprisingly, it didn't take long for the raven haired trainer to get to the city. He was about to head to the tower when he noticed Cynder's thoughtful expression. "What is it?" He asked softly. Cynder looked at him before blowing a cloud of smoke and heading towards the entrance of the underground. Now completely confused, Ethan could only follow his starter.

Silver entered the other entrance of the underground, before resting up against the wall, Snappy gave a yawn, settling down beside his master, eyes closing.

On the other side of the underground, a Team Rocket tailor beckoned Ethan over.

"You..." he said. "You must be him. Well, no time to waste. Put on your uniform... and hurry back to the tower. Next time, avoid getting mud all over yourself."

Giving a sigh, Silver went over events in his mind.

If I know Ethan well enough by now, he's going to want to get into the tower. I wonder...

Casting a glance to his Feraligatr, who was now staring at him, seeming to ask 'shall we go see, then?'. the red-haired boy simply smiled and nodded.

"Yeah," he agreed. "Let's go check things out."

Silver suddenly froze, hearing Ethan's voice faintly.

He must be down here too. Sounds like he's heading for the tower. I guess I should follow him.

Looking up at Snappy, the trainer placed his finger over his lips, indicating for the Pokemon to be silent, before they began to head for the tower.

'Ugh...I'm so glad no one I know is here...don't need anyone thinking I flipped to the dark side. Although I am pretty dark to begin with.' He snickered to himself, making Cynder glance at him as if he were insane. Ethan waved a hand before looking up at the radio tower, "Well, let's get this over with." they went inside.
