Silver came barging over, gripping the Rocket Grunt's shirt tightly.

"Hey!" he hissed, face contorted with rage and hatred. "Team Rocket! Stop going around in groups and troubling people. You cowards!"

Pushing the grunt to the side, he began to walk towards the stairs, before suddenly stopping. Staring directly at Ethan, his eyes narrowed.

"...Huh?" he said. "Are you... Ethan?! What are you doing here? No way... You think you're strong now that you look like them?! That's foolish! To think... I was starting to respect you... and then you go ahead and wear that hideous thing. I can never forgive you for that..."

Silver was visibly shaking. He couldn't understand why he was so upset. What did it matter what Ethan did, anyway?

Silver was still shaking. He wanted to destroy something, for he was feeling overwhelmed with rage. The Team Rocket Grunt gasped as he saw the disguise come off Ethan, regular clothes underneath. Taking a picture out of his pocket, he glanced at it, gasping again as he saw Ethan, complete with his usual clothing style.

"What?" he choked out, rushing up to the raven-haired boy. "You're not a newcomer? Then, battle with m--ungh!"

The Rocket Grunt went flying against the wall, his face now sporting a massive bruise from the fist that Silver slammed into it. The red-haired teen looked downright murderous.

"I see..." he said to Ethan, his voice still laced with venom, though not looking at the other boy. "You were trying to be sneaky. A typical idea of the meek. No matter, I'll let you handle this bunch. I have some... therapy to undertake."

Ethan's words stabbed into Silver like thousands of icy daggers. The teen instantly fell to his knees, his breathing becoming a little faster, his eyes stinging.

"Damn it..." he choked out. "Why am I so angry? Why do his words hurt so much? What the hell... is wrong... with me?"

Tears splashed onto the ground, surprising Snappy, who looked down at him in worry. With his own growl, he set off after the other trainer.

Once on the second floor, Ethan allowed himself to relax a little, avoiding the Rockets for the moment, he leaned against the wall and sighed, pulling his hair in frustration. 'What the hell is wrong with me? I'm normally calmer than that!' Cynder growled faintly, worried and a bit upset. Ethan glanced at his starter, then looked away.

Snappy rushed past the other trainer, making a beeline directly for the Team Rocket members, blasting them with powerful attacks before they could even react. Before long, the entire floor had been purged of Team Rocket, the water Pokemon turning around to face Ethan and Cynder, his eyes narrowed. Casting a glance at Cynder, his gaze softened.

"Master is strange. He... he's doing something I never have seen before. He looks so upset... and I think... it's your master."

The Feraligatr stared up at Ethan, his eyes unmoving from their glance. He needed help. His master needed help. Damn it, he was doing this.

Cynder nodded in acknowledgment, "I know... he upset your master, badly. He...didn't mean to." He glanced at his trainer who steadfast refused to look at either pokemon. The fire starter went over to him and gently nipped his sleeve, tugging at it, and looking in the direction of the downward stairs. Ethan looked at him, and shook his head, whispering, "No."

The red-haired trainer glanced over at the Team Rocket Grunt, his rage subsiding. The grunt was merely a few years older than he was, and a feeling of regret came through him.

"I don't wanna do this anymore..." he choked out, curling his arms around himself. "I can't... every time I see them, I just... and seeing him like that... I seriously... but he wouldn't have done that to spite me... Arceus damn it! Why does it hurt so much?"

Footsteps nearby made him look up, to see Ethan staring back at him.

"Why...?" he asked, tears dropping again. "Why does it hurt?"

Ethan nearly took a step back in surprise. Never had he seen such sadness. Expression going blank, the raven haired teen walked over to him and knelt down next to him. He didn't have an answer for the question, so he stayed silent. Instead, without really thinking, he pulled Silver to him and hugged him tightly.

Silver just stared ahead, not doing anything.

"This hurts too..." he said softly. "...but in a different way. At the same time though..."

The red-haired teen let his eyes close. Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm down.

"There's something about you..." he continued, voice even softer. "When I first met you, you were merely a thorn in my side. A bug to be squashed. But... that changed. I find myself wanting to understand you... to be closer..."

Silver gently pushed Ethan back a bit, so the embrace wasn't as full, and so the other could see his face.

"I'm in constant pain..." he choked out. "I can't stop thinking of you... then when I saw you dressed in that ridiculous disguise..."

The red-haired teen glanced down at the ground, his shoulders shaking, as more tears began to drop.

"Just my way of showing that I...don't hate you." Ethan said softly, almost unsurely. "I... have said horrible things, you really didn't deserve them..." What he didn't mention is that he had slowly been having strange feelings for the other trainer and he wouldn't admit that, not now.

Silver exhaled heavily, feeling strange again.

Cinnamon... he tastes like cinnamon... with a hint of apples.

Silver remained silent for a moment, before turning to face the younger trainer again.

"Team Rocket are the reason I'm like this..." he admitted finally. "My father... is Giovanni. He was the leader of Team Rocket, and through him, I came to learn much about Pokemon. I had a Growlithe... Fang. He was my only friend. Many people didn't want to be associated with me, because of my father. He held so much power... but then he was defeated by a boy three years ago, and went into hiding. The failure of Team Rocket led to his defeat, and he left my mother and I to cope alone. I hate him for that. I decided I'd do whatever it took to be the best trainer in all, and use my Pokemon to help me achieve that."

Silver turned his glance to the wall.

"I've met you once before..." he said softly. "I didn't tell you, but three years ago, when my father left, I saw you. I shoved you out of the way. You wont remember, because it hasn't happened for you yet. But soon... you will see. I know you will... the legendary Pokemon, Celebi... it will show you. With it, travel back... and meet me again. For now though, I need to go..."

Silver went to leave, but found that he was still being gently restrained.

When hearing about Silver's past, Ethan had been shocked to the core. 'No wonder he was like the way he was...' he thought. He felt confused when the redhead mentioned they had met before, three years ago. Then startled when he heard it was because of the legendary time traveler, Celebi. But when he heard that the other wanted to leave, he couldn't accept that. Not now. So he held onto him, keeping him from leaving.

"Why do you keep me here?" he asked softly. "I need to go. I have to... after all, I can't defeat you if I don't at least train..."

A small smile showed itself on his lips, indicating he wasn't serious about the last part. But he still felt he needed to go. He needed to be by himself, to re-evaluate himself as a trainer... and as a person.

"Hey..." he mumbled suddenly. "I just noticed that Snappy's not here... where..."
