Mellow
• • • • • • ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Basics ----------------------------------------------------------------- Children of the moon is a roleplay based in the world of Termina, ages before the events of Majora's Mask. It is set in the peaceful town of Clock Town, the people are rejoicing, in celebration of the monument they had recently completed, a Clock Tower to dot the very center of Termina. To the North of the new settlement now knows as Clock Town lies the Northern Mountains, home to the Goron tribes and various small settlements of Terminian folk and several arctic beasts, due to the cold environment. To the South lies the Southern Swamp, home to the prosperous, yet primitive, Deku Kingdom. To the West lies the Western Ocean, otherwise known as Great Bay. The land, or ocean, rather, is divided between the Zora people and the Gerudo Pirates. However, there is an oddity out in the Ocean, foreign to the people of Termina. A technological wonder lies just outside of the shore. To the East lies the civilization of Ikana, the most prosperous and lively out of Termina as a whole. The Kingdom of Ikana is ruled by Igos du Ikana, as wise and benevolent man, for the most part. At his disposal are the loyal and dedicated people, the Garo. Ikana have abandoned the Golden Goddesses, spiting them at every turn, placing their fate into their own hands. And to this, they have started building a monument to their denial of the goddesses, the Stone Tower. Their goal is to reached the heavens above without the help of the goddesses.----------------------------------------------------------------- The Story ----------------------------------------------------------------- The story follows a motley group of individuals brought together during events in the first Carnival of Time to be held, in celebration of the establishment of Clock Town, the centerpiece of Termina itself. The rest of the story? Well, let's just see watch as it unfolds.----------------------------------------------------------------- The Beginning ----------------------------------------------------------------- A red haired man walked through the stone gate marking the entrance and exit to Eastern Clock town. He moved his golden eyes around the area, examining the recently built section of Clock Town before going any further. "It seems safe enough the enter... no monsters, no bandits. It seems rather quiet... no people in this area of town. Seems rather odd, I was expecting to see a massive influx of people in town, with such a large celebration at hand," he thought to himself, making his way farther into town. He stopped again, examining the area again. He noticed a group of people gathered outside of a newly established Milk Bar. "Seems I spoke too soon," he though, cracking a smirk and making his way, ignoring the building in the shape of a treasure chest, seeming rather uninteresting in it, passing the entire off the entire structure as ridiculous. He wondered why anyone would build such a thing as he made his way down the stairs, entering Central Clock Town, where he would find a large gathering of people in wild celebration, lights and several other festivities all around. He simply looked the crowd over, smirked, and made his way deeper into Central Clock Town.
Tell-Tale Heart
A young woman with long blonde hair walked slowly away from the festivities. She walked wandered past the clock, going behind the massive ticking structure. She stepped into the North area of Clock Town, avoiding the running children as they played. She paused and looked up for a time, watching the night sky.
Mellow
The red haired man took another step forward, his boots making loud thumps and rattles as he walked. He stopped in front of the Clock Tower, looking up at it, staring at the clock face. He simply stared at the clock for a few moments, loud "cachunk's" echoing through the air with every passing moment. He smiled a bit, turning to his right and head up towards the Northern entrance, seemingly uninterested in the festivities, more interested in the wide variety of people, rather. He stopped, noticing a lone girl heading towards Northern Clock Town. He cocked his head slightly. "Something is off about that girl," he thought to himself, quickening his pace as he made his way through the entrance of North Clock Town. Tell-Tale Heart
The woman continued to stare up at the sky for a time, then turned as someone else entered the entrance to the North area. She studied the red haired man for a moment, considering him. She then began to walk even further away from the exits; trying to put as much distance between herself and the noise from the festivities. Mellow
The man approached her, slowing down as he began to approach her. He smiled lightly, looking her in the face. "The festivities are in Central Town, you know." He stopped for a moment, examining her expression. "Ah. I see. You must be trying to get away from the crowds. The noise. The festivities in general, am I correct?" He held a finger up, as if to stop her from responding just yet. "No need to answer. I already know your response. Now... this intrigues me." He gestured towards the entrance back to Central Clock Town. "Why would you want away from such a wonderful celebration, the Carnival of Time? This is the first of many, you know," he stated, his smile growing larger as he did so.
Tell-Tale Heart
The woman tilted her head and then looked away. "I guess it's really not my kind of thing. I don't mind watching it from a distance, but it's just a little much when it's up close." she replied quietly, slightly suspicious of the man. "What about you, if I may ask?" she inquired cautiously.
Mellow
The man shrugged, moving his golden eyes away from her and turning away, staring off at the exit to Northern Termina, noticing a bit of snow gathered at the ground. "Oh, I'm just passing through. Thought I'd see this grand gathering of all the people of Termina in one place... it struck me as rather interesting. Such a far fetched idea... building a town in the dead center of our glorious land, trying to bring the four civilizations together. It could have some rather splendid effects... but on the flip side, it could end in disaster," He stopped, smirking a bit. "And that is why I'm here. I am simply an observer. A watcher. Nothing more... nothing less." He turned his head towards her again, his golden eyes fixated on her. "And what of you? You seem different from the average girl. What's your secret?" He asked, his smirk growing larger.
Tell-Tale Heart
The woman obtained a puzzled look as the man went about his explaination. She was then taken aback by his odd question. "Oh, I..." she stammered for a second, then paused. "I'm really no one special. I'm the daughter of the Milk Bar owner. Other than that, I'm really not much different from anyone else. I mean, we all are a little different from each other, but I'm not that odd...." she rambled on, unsure of how to respond to such a direct, unusual question. Mellow
The man looked up, staring off at the night sky, still smirking a bit. "Milk Bar, you say? Was that the building in Eastern Clock Town, with the people gathered in front? How odd..." He paused, looking back down to her. "Well, how about we introduce ourselves. Alexei du Ikana, at your service," he stated, giving the girl a light bow, various bits and pieces of his clothing jingling as he did so.
Tell-Tale Heart
The woman took a step back as Alexei bowed. "Oh, uhm.... nice to meet you. I'm Adelina Aldo." she replied nervously. She really had no idea how to respond to this man. "We opened just today, so we probably will have our hands full with customers. I'm going to be cleaning after the crowd has left," she stated, as if to explain why she wasn't at the bar at that moment.
Mellow
Alexei looked around the area, seeming a bit distracted. "Adelina, I see. A beautiful name, if you don't mind my saying," he stated, smiling again. "Did you always live in this town?" He asked, looking up to the sky again, as if looking for something. "Curiosity can sometimes get the better of me, but I'm awfully curious. Would you kindly indulge me?"
Tell-Tale Heart
Adelina shook her head. "My family has lived in this town for a long time. To be honest, I've been curious about other places, myself." She looked away for a bit. She then turned to Alexei again. "What about you? Do you mind telling me where you came from?" She seemed to have become more comfortable around the stranger.
Mellow
Alexei nodded, bowing his head to her. "I come from Ikana, the land to the East of here. The prosperous Kingdom under the hand of our glorious King, Igos du Ikana, and testament to the achievements of man," he stated formally, smiling widely as he finished. Tell-Tale Heart
As the man finished, Adelina glanced away, looking towards the East. She could see a little of the mountains that assisted in the protection of the Ikana Kingdom. "Ikana... did you really walk all the way to Clock Town?" She shook her head, deciding that may not have been the most polite question to ask. "What's it really like? I've heard a few stories from travelers, but..." Her voice trailed off. She hoped she did not say something to offend the man.
Mellow
Alexei smiled lightly at her question, looking towards the East himself. He closed his eyes, his smile widening as he turned towards her again, opening his golden eyes and setting them on her once again. "I walked all the way from Ikana, that's right," he paused, thinking for a moment. "What's it like... what a splendid question. Oh, it's simply magnificent. The Market is always buzzing with people, and has such a nice selection of inventory," he stopped again. "But that isn't the point." He shrugged again. "I spend most of my time Ikana Castle. Or rather, this used to be the case. Most of what I know about the outside has come from history books... but now I'm here. Experiencing history first hand. What a glorious feeling..." He trailed off, falling silent for a few moments.
Tell-Tale Heart
Adelina looks up at the man, now surprised. "Really? A castle?" She paused for a time, considering his words. "I suppose most of what I know about Termina also comes from books. I've never seen the beach, or the swamp. I haven't been able to visit Snowhead either," she became deep in thought for a time. "I probably would find a way to visit places in Termina, but it's so dangerous outside of town these days...."
Mellow
Alexei looked towards the exit again, running his eyes over the snow pushing it's way into town, a blizzard occurring just outside the gate. A cold violent arctic breeze blew threw, blowing his hair a bit. He turned his head away a bit, trying to keep the air and ice from his face, the jewel on his forehead shimmering as he did so. He turned back to the girl after the breeze had blown through, placing his hands to his sides, the various dangling jewels upon his body jingling as he did so. "Indeed. I was born and raised in the castle," he stopped, smirking a bit, closing his eyes. "But I'm no one special, really. Here... I'm just another face in the crowd," he stated, turning away and beginning to walk back towards Central Clock Town. He stopped, looking back at the girl. "I would consider escorting you to the various corners of Termina, mind you. I'll be heading to them anyway," he said, smiling lightly.
Tell-Tale Heart
Adelina shivered from the artic breeze slightly. She listened to Alexei speak, and paused at his statement. "I'm not sure how father would respond to that offer, but thank you anyway," she replied shyly. She gave him a nod as he left, and decided to head back to her father's new establishment. Mellow
Alexei descended the ramps leading towards the center of town, and the celebration, hugging the side of the ticking monument. "Cachunk... cachunk," Alexei thought to himself, in sync with the structure. He stopped at the bottom of the ramp, running his gaze over the crowd of people celebrating. People were dancing, drinking, playing games, and just about everything else one could imagine. And soon... the Tower would extend, and the true celebration would begin. Alexei stood in front of the structure, his hands by his side, staring up at it, his smile growing wider by the second, until finally... the Final Hour arrived, and the Tower extending, a barrage of fireworks shooting off into the sky. Elsewhere... It was a strange place. A beautiful place, yet somehow... it was unsettling. The area was small simplistic, yet outstandingly gorgeous. The land was nothing more than a hill with a singular tree dotting the very top of it. At the foot of this tree, sat a boy. The boy was alone, a stick in hand, poking at something on the ground. Another boy approached him, stopping in front of him and looking down. The boy sitting by the tree looked up, his face adorned with a rather strange mask. It was a purple color, for the most part. Various designs of red, blue, green, and yellow completed the strange look, the eyes of the mask a strange hue of green, the sclera of the eyes a yellow color, rather than the green, a blood shot look applied the edge, the borders being a red color. The boy speaking to the one by the tree also wore a mask, but this one was different. This one resembled that of a mountain goat, however, it seemed to be more metallic, and also bore strange markings. The horns of the mask gleamed lightly. "Why are you sitting here all by yourself? You should be over here with us... playing, running, jumping," said the goat masked boy. The strange masked boy simply shook his head. "I don't want to play with you... not after what you did. You're all no fun, anyway... there are better things to play with... more fun things to done... just not yet, you know?" He stated, looking back down to the ground. The goat masked boy shook his head, his voice more exciting. "We're your friends! Don't you want to play with us? Isn't this place fun enough for you?" He asked frantically. The strange masked boy simply shook his head again, saying nothing. "I don't like bad guys..." His voice trailed off, seemingly in thought. Back in Clock Town, during the Carnival of Time... The people looked up in the sky, staring off at the beautiful onslaught of fireworks, the finest of Goron fireworks, at that. A group of gorons near the Southern Gate began to clap at the sight. Alexei turned back, looking them over for a moment, but paying them no mind. "This is a rather beautiful sight..." He mumbled to himself, trailing off. Tell-Tale Heart
A Zora noticed Alexei. He was dressed as closely to a Terminan as a Zora could be. He had on a simple light-colored vest, but no shirt, as well as long, straight pants. He approached the red-haired man. "Enjoying the carnival?" He asked with a small, polite smile. His expression showed a slight hint of concern as he looked to the fireworks and back to Alexei.
Mellow
Alexei looked down as he heard an unfamiliar voice. He turned around, noticing the Zora. He smiled lightly, gesturing with his arm towards the fireworks, shrugging his left shoulder a bit. "Oh, I'm having a splendid time," he stated in response. He looked the Zora over, from head to toe, an interested look upon his face as he did so. "A Zora... I suppose all of Termina truly has come together in one place for the first time, after all. Tell me... what brings you here?" He asked, fascinated.
Tell-Tale Heart
The Zora thought for a bit. "Well, actually, I live in town. I help organize events, like this carnival. My Name's Ives, just so you know." He pointed to himself at his introduction. He glanced around as he stated, "I'm always open for suggestions. I like for the festival to be a little different each year. Whether it's actually better or not," here he waved his hand slowly in the air, "is up to the tourists." Mellow
Alexei smirked at this, looking up at the fireworks again. "Whose idea was it to shoot Goron fireworks, if I might ask?" He paused, looking back down to the Zora. "Oh, forgive me. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Alexei du Ikana. At your service," he smiled at this, bowing lightly. Tell-Tale Heart
Ives nodded at the man's introduction. "Sure. Nice to see new faces," he stated as he put his hand to his chin and tapped it with one finger. "Actually, I think that was one of the suggestions," Ives replied to Alexei's question. "Yeah, I think a man who sold bombs mentioned the Goron's talent for explosives," he added, deep in thought.
Mellow
Alexei nodded, smiling again, looking to the group of Gorons that were previously clapping at the use of their fireworks. "Yes, those Gorons seemed rather excited about their use. They certainly do know how to use those explosives of theirs..." His voice trailed off as he stared off into the sky, noticing something odd in the top of the sky, but he couldn't quite make out what it was. "What is... how odd," he mumbled to himself in a dumbfounded voice. Elsewhere, in the strange landscape... The masked boy by the tree continued poking around at the ground with his stick, pushing rocks from side to side, no doubt using his imagination to replace the rocks with something else. With what? Who knew. The goat masked boy remained silent for a moment, simply grunting at the other boy's comment. "You're going on about the bad guys again, huh?" He stated frantically, getting more excited by the moment. "Yeah..." The strange masked boy stated in response, his voice trailing off again. "Bad guys... there are a lot, you know? In that land below us... I'm the good guy... good guys have to beat the bad guys, right?" He asked the goat masked boy. The goat masked boy simply turned away, disregarding his question, seemingly irritated by the boy. "I'm going to go play with the others. You can stay here by yourself if you want to, I don't care," the boy stated, running back to the other three children.
