Mysterious encounter on MSN.

Hello there,

Today morning I got a MSN invitation. I accepted but I was already distrustful. The "person" was offline.

Later on, the "person", still in offline state, spoke to me and after some talk, me being really prudent, proposed to show me things that are not going to be named here on the cam. I declined, of course.

The "person" sent me links to malevolent sites, wanting to show me said things and push me to use my credit card, perhaps thinking that I was completely stupid or hoping/thinking that I was inexperienced. Well, of course, I deleted this "person".

I could not tell if it was a bot or a real person, its answers to some questions were pretty realistic, while it completely ignored other questions, in particular "How did you get my address?".

I can't say that I'm surprised, in fact, I expected this sort of situation and due to my experience I was secure and felt no danger.

But how did it get my MSN address? I keep it scrupulously safe and private, never writing it down. Was it from another contact?

Had anyone a similar situation, especially on MSN? I know this sort of things, but never encountered it on MSN.

It was a bot.

Trust me, it asked you to go watch a naughty live webcam show "she" was holding, and stuff like that.

It doesn't matter how secure you keep your MSN email, considering MSN is one of -the- worst and most insecure email services today; that is exactly why scam bots are still able to find you.

Everyone with an MSN account gets this bot sooner or later. Everyone I know that still uses MSN, or used to, has gotten the same bot. Same for me when I used to use MSN.

Just don't tell it any identifying information, and you'll be okay. Good thing you deleted it, too.

Don't worry, I'm quite experienced with such things, even if I never encountered them on MSN...

So, this bot seems quite frequent...

Thank you for your answers!
