This game is almost like someone took Fallout mixed it with Skyrim, put in a dash of Assassin's Creed, and baked it in a steam-punk oven. Dishonored gives you a pistol and sword and 6 powers to use. It is set in a place that is very similar to 17th Century England.

It is called Dunwall and it has a problem. It is infested with a deadly plague which is carried by monstrous rats. The rats play a big part in the game and so does the plague. You cannot catch the plague but you can summon rats. You can summon a big swarm of angry rats that will attack any enemies nearby. Your other powers include teleportation, a blast of wind which breaks doors and knocks back enemies, slowing down or completely stopping time, being able to see people through walls, and being able to possess animals or even people. These powers are given to you by a mystical being known as the Outsider. To buy these powers or upgrade them you need to find runes. Runes are things carved out of whale bones which are magical. Along with runes there are also bone charms which give you little boosts such as increased health from potions. In Dishonored you play as Corvo Attano, legendary bodyguard to the Empress.

You had been away for months to ask for aid from other countries for the plague. When you return you meet Emily who is the heir to the throne and Empress's daughter. As you inform the Empress of the bad news assassin's attack. You are able to fend them off for a few minutes but eventually they kill the Empress and take Emily. They disappear and everyone is left to believe that you had killed the Empress. You are brought to jail but escape when you receive a key from a "friend". When you escape you meet Samuel the boatman who brings you to the Hound Pits Pub. This is the place where a faction of people who call themselves the Loyalists are waiting for you.

They know about how you are innocent and they also know who you need to kill to get your honor and Emily back. And so you have to become an Assassin and get her back. Now there are a few ways you can do this you can complete levels without killing anybody. For example your first target is the High Overseer. If you are stealthy enough you can sneak into where he is and instead of killing him simply remove him from his position. How? By giving him the Heretics brand. The Heretics brand is a brand put on the face of those who have committed crimes which remove them from their power. This is what I chose, however simply sparing him and killing everyone else will not do much. More deaths means more chaos and the more chaos you accumulate will come back to haunt you in the end. If you have high chaos you will have a sort of bad ending. The ending is narrated by the Outsider and he shows what happens after the final level. The only downside would probably be that the game itself is short but still it is an amazing game
