Airikita
Hey guys, sorry I've been busy, won't be back to my projects for a while... Anyways, I found this really cool new console, and thought I should share it. It only costs around $79, and plays HDMI quality games!
Conker
I'd rather have the OUYA, since it's all-around a better device. Plus, it's controller doesn't look like total garbage. I mean, the Game Stick's controller... looks very, very bad to me. :S
Jotokun
The Ouya does look like an overall better device, seeing as its got seniority which will hopefully draw dev attention and is fairly open. Myself, if I wanted something like this I would just plug my Nexus 10 into my TV and pair a bluetooth controller. Any Android device with HDMI out or Miracast would do. xdaniel
Call me an old geezer, but ten years ago was a simpler time... The GBA was out, the SwanCrystal was almost dead, the GP32 had a somewhat nebulous presence, the N-Gage was still a year or so away, and out of those only the GBA was a true success. Nowadays, it seems like everyone and their mother is trying to kickstart a new console and/or handheld. Not to mention all those generic Chinese Android-based systems, or even some commercial endeavors like the Neo Geo X Gold. Oh, and smartphones. I really don't see the point in all those machines, including the Ouya.

Consumers dont need ten bajillion different versions of the same thing, and developers aren't going to waste their time on developing for something unless they know it'll sell a ton. With that said, I think smartphones are an exception because while they may be terrible game devices due to the lack of buttons, everyone has one for other reasons (calling/texting + web + email, etc.) and since they already carry them, why not have games on them? If most run the same OS (Android in this case) it kinda sidesteps the issue of dev support.
Conker
I really don't see the point in all those machines, including the Ouya. I don't see the point in any of them, except the OUYA. /replytoxdanielendshere Anyways, rant time: The OUYA is going to be awesome, and the first proper Android gaming system; I see no reason why we shouldn't have one of these, since there are many Android games that would all-around play much better with a controller(I am aware that you don't need an OUYA to do so, but I laugh at the thought of doing it any other way). I mean, there are games on Android, that if you play with a controller, they go from casual phone games, to hardcore console-quality games. Not to mention, if you want a console to emulate all of your favorite classic games, the OUYA's just what you need; no having to go through the trouble of hard/softmodding anything like a Wii, 360, PS3, or whatever, it will just work out of the box, granted you have the APK's to your favorite emulators(which can be obtained from Google Play, among other sources). (no, I will not emulate on my PC over something like the OUYA.) Now, the Game Stick... all it is doing is feeding off of the OUYA's success, and that is just stupid, considering it's a piece of shit device. I mean, really? Their entire Kickstarter video is a PARODY of the OUYA's Kickstarter video. What the actual fuck were they thinking? It's unoriginal shit like that, that leads me to believe this thing might not even be real to begin with(showing a demo of it in action doesn't mean jack, those can easily be faked), not that it'd even matter to me, anyways(like I said, shit device). Honestly, anybody thinking about backing this thing... do so if you wish, but I advise you not to. If you want a true Android gaming console, wait for the OUYA to release; that is a purchase you will not regret.
Airikita
It's probably a real console, but it's just not like an official console. Anyways, I like the look of the Ouya better, and I will agree it looks a lot better. It's not a bad price either. Anyways, a friend of mine told me about the Gamestick, so it was just something I haven't seen yet, and I thought it was a great idea to make an affordable console. I can't afford consoles and new games anymore... and I have other things I want to buy/do anyways.
