giadrosich
Not sure if this has been discussed before, but I found something interesting in my original Prima strategy guide for Zelda OOT (1998 copy). Excuse the craptastic picture, I don't have a scanner: It looks to me like there are two floating platforms there instead of one. What do you guys think? The guide clearly says to jump over only one floating platform, so not sure what's going on in the picture. It would be odd they specify just "one floating platform" instead of saying "a floating platform" too. "Here you find a large chasm bridge by one floating platform."
Samurai
lol I think you're putting too much thought into honest mistakes, lol. I don't see what the big deal is, though.
Mallos31
The back of the Ocarina of Time box has three pictures from the beta. One which actually still has Navi being red and link having the bow, bombs, and ocarina, and 9 small keys.

Because beta content is interesting to me. Nothing wrong with that.

One which actually still has Navi being red and link having the bow, bombs, and ocarina, and 9 small keys. Huh. Never noticed. I guess it's safe to assume you guys are true fans. Kudos! Anyway, it really is too bad Ocarina of Time never made it anywhere near as far as planned. They had so much they were going to do with it, but due to the lack of cartridge memory, they couldn't go as far as they'd like. But I don't have to tell you that. Mallos31
What has always made me sad is: So shortly after the game was released, the 64Mb cart was made. They could have probably done it "OTL
Three_Pendants
A nice find Giadrosich! I never saw that before. I wonder if there's anything else that's beta in the Prima Strategy Guide?
giadrosich
Not sure, I've looked at all the pictures up to Dodongo's Cavern but nothing stands out yet. It would be weird to have only one screenshot in the guide that is of "beta" content, so there's always a chance of something later on.
DeathBasket
Not really interested in beta stuff myself but I find it odd how one of the beta screenshots with red Navi made it all the way onto the back of the Wind Waker box...

DeathBasket
This one: Can't really see it in that image though, Navi is the little red spot above Link in the bottom right image.
giadrosich
Reminds me how the environments is spelled wrong on a lot of the first run boxes too for limited edition. XD

Mallos31
Look. There's 8 small keys too. Like when you use map select into a dungeon or the "beta quest" Also, Navi's wings are pointed in the picture of young link. So that's an old screenshot too. DeathBasket
150 rupees is also the default for file 1 on the debug ROM iirc and it looks like that's the amount Link has in the image.
Three_Pendants
And Link's likely fighting those Stalfos in Sutaru rather than the Forest Temple, if I had to wager a guess. EDIT: No, no it's likely the Forest Temple or else there wouldn't be 8 Keys, heh. Nevermind.
Secant
In the (extremely old, dilapidated and only mostly intact) strategy guide for OoT I have, the strategy for Dark Link is accompanied with a picture of Link unsuccessfully attacking Dark Link with a spin attack and a timer displayed onscreen... no idea what that was about. Then again, the guide also says spin attacks are how you beat Dark Link (lol). I would provide pics but I don't have the guide on me at the moment.
giadrosich
Deku nuts are the best way to beat dark link, he actually just locks off of you and starts into your idle animations. If you go in with like half a heart or so, you can kill him in one good hit that way.
Mallos31
haha I accidentally did that when I was ten, and I thought I broke dark link XD
