Midna blinked, before a little grin appeared on her fanged lips.

"Fine fine. Hold on tight."

She hovered above them, as their bodies were surrounded by shadows, before they broke apart into twilight particles like the messengers as they raced up towards the portal above them.

---- Northern Faron Woods ----

The two once again appeared in the Faron Woods, and once again they were in their wolf forms. Diggs hurried over as he sat in front of the bridge that had been close by.

"Here it is!"

Midna seemed to huff a bit at the the wolves.

"You know, most people can't leave the twilight that easily. You'd better be grateful..."

Midna chuckled, as she used her powers to lift the bridge off the ground into the air, as it was warped away back to their previous destination... Kakariko Village.

The two wolves were sent back as well, both of them standing on the bridge, as Midna landed once more on Link's back.

"See? Just as I thought. Eee hee! So, isn't the power of twilight amazing? Call me if you need that power again. It should help you find what you're looking for, don't you think? Alright, let's keep going."

Diggs continued to lead the way as they hurried through the Hyrule field that would take them to the village where Eldin resided.

Diggs blinked, as he made his way over, Link right behind him while carrying the little imp of twilight on his back as they made it over to where the laminated light spirit was hovering above them, the water rushing around their paws.

"Look for...my light... Gather the light stolen by the shadows...into this...

...The insects of darkness... They are the form taken...by the evil that

attached itself...to my scattered light...

In this shadowy twilight...the shadow insects are invisible, much as the people

from your light world are...

With the last of my power...let me mark your map...with the locations...of the

tears that have turned into...shadow insects...

But...be careful... The darkness...now hunts you..."

Diggs was once again in charge of the vessel of light pea pod thingy. He smiled proudly, before the two hurried out of the water

"Agh... I almost twisted something... that's the last time we follow Midna onto a roof..."

Diggs looked over, seeing one single soul fire over in the corner, before looking over, finding a bunch were gathered over by a small stone seat.

Diggs narrowed his eyes, honing his senses, before his eyes widened.

"L...Link... I think you need to see this..."

"Cripes! I don't see those black brutes anywhere... They've gotta be hidin' somewhere, waitin' for their helpless little prey to come out! Then they'll FEAST!"

"We are safe as long as we remain in here, child. Be at ease."

"Oh yeah? I wonder if the monsters out there agree with you... They sure didn't seem impressed by my bombs! How long do you think we can hold this sanctuary against beasts that strong, huh? Once they attack, it's OVER!Remember that lady from the general store? Just one of those things attacked her, and a whole gang from town went to save her!And what happened? She was already gone, and there were TWO monsters waitin'!...You connectin' the dots? That means that if we get attacked by them, then we'll be...

Beth was shivering amongst all of Barnes' talk about what happened in the village after the Twilight took over. All of the children were beginning to become more fearful than before... Renado was finally getting tired of it, as he glared over at the pudgey man.

"BARNES!"

A small huff seemed to escape him, as Beth broke out into tears, as he brought his helmet over his eyes.

"Look, Renado... All I mean to say is that it's risky here, too! Ain't you got some place we can hide?"

"There is...a cellar."

"WHAAT? You've got a CELLAR?! Where's the entrance, man?"

"The entrance to the cellar is designed to open when all of the candles have been lit..."

Barnes grabbed it, and crawled over, lighting the light in the middle, before he fell over.

A small huff seemed to come from Talo, as Diggs and Link were left watching the kids...

Diggs frowned softly... Link was special to everyone, so it made sense that they would believe in him... did they forget about him...? He was always there to help them, right?

"These kids knew you'd come to save them! What a hero! How sad, to be right in front of someone and not be noticed at all... Eee hee hee! You are chosen by the gods, and only that keeps you from turning into a spirit, or worse, into a dark monster, when you enter twilight. And no one knows what you have done... You may be doomed to toil in obscurity forever... You're the type to worry about everything, I can tell...but don't fret over Princess Zelda! She chose this state of affairs, after all...

Anyway, what's with having to light candles to get to the basement?! Not very subtle, is it... So, what are you going to do now? My lonely little hero... Eee hee!"

"...Right..."

Wanting to help the kids he failed to protect, the chestnut wolf picked up the stick that Barnes had before, and hurried over, and lit the candles one by one, before the statue in the middle of the room moved aside, showing off a passage into the cellar that Renado talked about.
