punk7890
Apologies if this is the wrong section. I've now updated my Ocarina of Time soundfont to contain all instruments and correct instrumentsplits that were previously missing. I've fixed all loop points and cross fading looping is now enabled on instruments such as, Jazz Guitar, Nylon Guitar, Harps, Madola, Piano etc.Patch 41 and 30 are reworked and patches 65-72 are new. The Jazz Guitar seems slightly off still. Can't seem to get it right. Lots of tweaking went into this so let me know if anything is out of place.Happy composing! http://filewinds.com/qkst18yhd6ad/OoT_2.01.sf2.html

punk7890
Opps! I forgot to remove key restrictions to the String Section and Timpani's. Fixed: http://filewinds.com/qkst18yhd6ad/OoT_2.01.sf2.html @James: I use Synthfont Viena for my Soundfont creation needs. http://www.synthfont.com/Viena_news.html
JamesAndrewHarris
Thanks, this is going to a lot. While I am working on a mod's music for SF (Shattered Fate)Me and my friends are also undertaking research into a project like this involved with animation/games e.g. into MIDI and so on so forth. Which all the compiled info is going to help loads with.
Three_Pendants
This is just a lot of fun to play around with and it's great to hear how certain songs would sound in-game, given the correct instruments.
JamesAndrewHarris
Yeah, I had a go on it last night with my own samples and Punk's soundfont, really fun, Thanks Punk7890.
punk7890
No problem. Glad you guys enjoy it. I'll be posting more of these from other games for sure in the coming months.
BullockDS
Great job, Punk! I'm having fun with this new soundfont, and I'm looking forward to whatever you're cooking up next.
DarthDub
Could you add some of the instruments from Majora's Mask please? It would make this soundfont more complete.
Three_Pendants
Well I think part of what it is used for Darth is so that the music modifier for OoT can more easily hear what their pieces are going to sound like when put in game, a separate one, I would imagine, would be made for Majora's Mask, as not to confuse the music modifier in possibilities. punk7890
For completion sake, I'll consider it for a later time but there's really not that much difference from OoT instruments and MM. Only a few. I'll probably just combine OoT+MM and label it as such so that composers know that it might not fit into OoT but still have a stand alone OoT soundfont still.

!Tommy
Sorry for being such a noob with this particular thing, but how do we use this soundfont? Is it a ROM update or for use in an MIDI program?
Arcaith
You use it in a MIDI sequencer or DAW if they support soundfonts. Alternately you can install the BASSMIDI driver and use it with any MIDI device.
punk7890
You'd normally use it in a Digital Audio Workstation, or you can simply use a free midi program. You can try out Synthfont Viena if you want something free and effective. I personally use what Arc suggested.
!Tommy
Thanks Punk and Arc! I figured that's what it was for. This is amazing. No more guessing what the music will sound like in game. This is truly a huge help for me. Thanks!

Airikita
Oh, so is this for testing music before importing? Or is it new instruments for the game? Pardon my confusion... I wonder if this can be integrated into replacing instruments as well?
Niosai
I can't speak for punk, but I do know that you can use it to make songs in the style of Ocarina of Time using its actual instruments. But yes, you could test songs using its instruments as well, if you're planning on importing. I can't elaborate any further on that, though, since my knowledge of music-importing is limited at best.
!Tommy
Just a word of warning, Airikita. I've run into a few times where the instruments sound much higher in the game as opposed to it when testing with the soundfont. Something that I had sounding good in SynthFont sounded HORRIBLE in the game so just a word of caution if you decide to venture in with it. Arcaith
I'm not sure if all the instruments are correctly tuned. I keep meaning to go over the instruments and make an exactly mapped sf2, but other things are currently a higher priority. If instruments come out too high/low, simply transpose them an octave or two one way or the other.
