Shadow Fire
A little while later, Link was on his way up Death Mountain, having procured himself a Hylian Shield from the guardian at the Death Mountain gate. Great... a long climb up a mountain, where spiders are trying to jump at me...
CorruptedMoon
"This is not going to be fun." Navi deadpanned.
Shadow Fire
After a while of climbing, Link found himself in a strange city. Before he could do anything, he could faintly hear a soothing melody. It was coming from a tunnel on one of the lower platforms. Curious, Link went down to investigate and as he walked through the tunnel, he found himself back in the forest. Strange... Well, since I'm back, I may as well pay Saria a visit...
CorruptedMoon
Navi blinked, glancing around. A tune was floating through the air, but this one seemed louder than the normal musical sound of the forest. It was coming from one of the three tunnels laid out in front of them. Shadow Fire
Link followed the tune and eventually found his way into a hidden part of the forest. So, this must be the Forest Sanctuary that I've heard Saria talk of. I guess she must be here...
CorruptedMoon
And sure enough, Saria was there, happily playing an ocarina, the same tune that had guided the blonde to the area.
Shadow Fire
Walking over to his friend, the blond smiled.
CorruptedMoon
Saria paused her playing and looked up with a smile, "I've been waiting for you, Link!" She said happily. "This is the Sacred Forest Meadow. It's my secret place! I feel... This place will be very important for both of us someday. That's what I feel. If you play the Ocarina here, you can talk with the spirits in the forest. Would you like to play the Ocarina with me?" She asked.
Shadow Fire
Link smiled, giving a nod before bringing out the ocarina that Saria had given him. I wonder... is this her sacred song?
CorruptedMoon
"Ok, try to follow along with the melody I will play. Are you ready?" Getting an 'ok' from her friend, she brought her ocarina up and began playing a light tune.
Shadow Fire
Link smiled, following along. Once again, he played the extended tune, giving a slightly wider smile as he put the Ocarina away.
CorruptedMoon
"Great! Great!" Saria exclaimed, "Please don't forget this song! Do you promise? When you want to hear my voice, play Saria's Song. You can talk with me anytime..."
Shadow Fire
Link nodded, indicating he wouldn't forget. Never, Saria... I'll never forget...
CorruptedMoon
"Link." Navi whispered. "We have to get going." Saria smiled at the duo, "Be sure you come an visit me! Speaking through the song is nice, but it's even better to speak face to face."
Shadow Fire
Giving a nod, Link backed away, before racing back down towards the portal to Goron City, glad that he had the chance to meet with his best friend again.
CorruptedMoon
Once they were back in Goron City, Navi glanced at the lower floor, "I think we need to go down there..." OFF TOPIC: Finally I can bring Kaze back in. *shot* The dark haired girl lightly strummed her harp as she swung her feet from where she was sitting. It was just a normal day in Goron City...it was kind of boring. But little did she know how one meeting would flip everything upside down.
Shadow Fire
Dropping to the ground underneath him, Link walked over to the sealed doorway. Realising that he needed to identify himself as part of the Royal Family, he took out his ocarina, and played Zelda's Lullaby. Watching with a grin as the door opened, the blond raced through, suddenly stopping at what he saw. Um... I guess this must be the leader... CorruptedMoon
The blue-eyed girl paused her playing and glanced at the door as it opened and a blonde boy ran in. 'Who the heck was that?' she wondered, tilting her head. Putting her harp away, she stood up and dusted herself off, 'Better go check and see what's happening.' She thought before heading to the room. Meanwhile the leader of the Gorons glared at Link, "What the heck! Who are you?!" He demanded in a booming voice. Without waiting for an answer, he continued, "When I heard the song of the Royal Family, I expected their messenger had arrived, but... you're just a little kid! Has Darunia, the big boss of the Gorons, really lost so much status to be treated like this by his Sworn Brother, the King? Now, I'm REALLY angry! Get out of my face, now!" He bellowed. CorruptedMoon
Navi shrugged before softly speaking, "Um...could you tell us maybe what's wrong?" The leader looked slightly annoyed, "Are you asking why I'm in such a bad mood right now? Ancient creatures have infested the Dodongo's Cavern! We've had a poor harvest of our special crop, Bomb Flowers! Starvation and hunger because of the rock shortage! But..." He paused. "This is a Goron problem! We don't need any help from strangers!" 'Somebody's moody.' Kaze thought as she heard the shouting coming from the closed room. 'Then again, I can hardly blame Darunia. This problem has been going on for a while.' Shadow Fire
Link was almost scared away by the leader's mood. That was, until he remembered what another Goron had told him. The song of the forest... Maybe... just maybe... Taking out his Ocarina, Link began to play Saria's Song.
CorruptedMoon
Just like that, once the tune started, the leader began dancing like crazy. "Oh! Oh oh! C'mon! Come on! Come on! Come on! Hot! What a hot beat! Whoooooa! Yeeeeeeeeah! Yahoo!" He shouted happily. Once the tune faded, he grinned at Link, "Heeey!! What a nice tune! Just like that, my depression is all gone! Something just came over me! I suddenly wanted to dance like crazy!" He laughed before introducing himself, "I am Darunia! I'm the big boss of the Gorons! Was there something you wanted to ask me about?" "We wanted to know about the Spiritual Stone of Fire." Navi piped up. "What? You want the Spiritual Stone of Fire, too? The Spiritual Stone of Fire, also known as the Goron's Ruby, is our race's hidden treasure..." He trailed off before frowning slightly, "But hold on--I'm not going to give it to you that easily. If you want it so badly... Why don't you go destroy the monsters inside of the Dodongo's Cavern and prove you're a real man? That way, everybody will be happy again! If you do it, I will give you anything you want, even the Spiritual Stone! I have something for you. I'm not really giving you this in return for anything, but take it anyway." He held out a gold bracelet with black markings. "If you wear this, even a little fella like you can pick up a Bomb Flower."
Shadow Fire
Link gave a glance at the bracelet he was given, before slipping it on his right wrist. Suddenly, he felt power surge through him. I like this thing... Turning around to head to the Dodongo's Cavern, he suddenly stopped, as he almost ran into a young girl. A sheepish smile on his face, he glanced away.
