a little update on this...

N had plans on selling 9million WiiU units between april 1 2013 and march 31 2014.

Now they've lowered those expected numbers to 2.8 million units.

Same goes for the 3DS.

expected 19million then, now it's 13.5million units.

Gamewise?

WiiU: from 38 to 19 million

3DS: from 80 to 66 million...this is with the new Pokèmon included.

and to top that of, they've admitted that they haven't looked at their competitors as far as online services go.

anonymous developers have confirmed this.

The thing with nintendo, is they developed an image, a "kid friendly" image. what happened was while their audience was maturing, they products weren't.

The only way they could save themselves from their imminent demise, is if they appealed to their original audience. which im aware they are trying to. the wii really burned out much of nintendo's fanbase. while there were some excellent games, that really are amazing. there too much "nintendogs" and shit like that its difficult for the consumer to expect different from a console of the same name with the letter U on it

This... some realism and violence doesn't hurt, but they're making Link toonier instead of more realistic. Sure there's more detail in the Wii U, but they failed to make the field look like grass, and Link's chainmail metalic, and tunic have a leather feel to it... They did it for TP, then they started to go for the brighter cell-shaded ways because it's just easier to do so, so they could be lazier with the textures. If you think that's for performance reasons, think again... cell shading uses so much lighting, it uses more effects than realistic lighting. They might need more shaders, but those just act as a layer to a texture, no extra polygons. They may not even need to overkill shaders if they find a way to use less of them for multiple actor models.

I will say I am a huge fan of Skyward Sword, and I love the style, but it could have had better detail than the sparse amount of grass here and there... They are just lazy with making games to save time while other developers work harder on details and cinematics to appeal to what people want in a game. With the games Nintendo makes, they can sell a bunch of their portable console games, and work more on the home consoles.

They rushed Wii, then stopped it for the Wii U. They're losing out because people can't afford a Wii U, but also because their Wii U games aren't offering much come-uppance in visuals, and it's really stupid to make a Wii U with a better processor, etc, when they could have made an attachment for the Wii, or just sold better Wiis that could still play GCN games!!!

RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
