HeavyZ
I'd like to get a team together to turn all of the horses, and Epona into Chocobos. I could edit all of the text to fit it for Chocobos, and I could port over the the Lon Lon Ranch Epona song into the Chocobo Ranch theme song from FF7, and I could also change the Ocarina Epona's song into the Chocobo song. I'm sure we can use Epona's Actor data for the Chocobo you can ride, I'm not sure if her animation data is in her actor, or object though. Also I would like to replace the race song with the Chocobo Race theme from FF7. New ranch song The race with Ingo song I need someone who can make two chocobo models. One for Epona, and one for the rest of the horses. If the same person who does the models cannot change the object animations for the new Chocobos then we need someone to do that. Lastly someone who can edit Epona's sounds into Chocobo's. Maybe even change the carrots into greens? I don't know, they eat greens in FF7, but they also eat carrots in FF11. Other songs I could replace are: The "Across the Finish Line" song replaced with the Final Fantasy Victory Fanfare The "Ingo looses" song... Suggestions? and maybe even the "Got Epona" song with another Fanfare from Final Fantasy The final goal is to keep this thing N64 hardware compatible, I have an N64 flash cart that I can test everything on. Don't make me learn a whole bunch of new things just to make this happen, let's get a team going!
Spire
I've got nothing to contribute other than support. C'mon people, this can be executed fairly quickly!
DarthDub
I think we could technically do this just by importing the 3d model for a chocobo from Final Fantasy VII, but that's just the beginning of it. You still have to make sure the chocobo 3d model is rigged correctly or else it'll be wonky.
SanguinettiMods
It would be easy.
HeavyZ
Not a very ambitious project at all, but it would be awesome none the less. Still need people, I guess I could do the actor noise replacements too. In all honesty I'm a really lazy hacker, unless I'm in the right mood, so the less I gotta do the better. Spire
Oh hey! I'll make you a logo when the time comes. Man, we've got Link crossing into FF7 (Satoshi) and FF7 Chocobos entering OoT (HeavyZ), and let's not forget Sanguinetti's attempt to bring Cloud into OoT... when are we all gonna work together to make: THE FINAL FANTASY OF ZELDA ...borrowing equal elements from both series and making this awesome N64-styled world where everyone on the internet wins? Because I want to. Think about it... Garlandorf.
HeavyZ
The thought of that actually crossed my mind, it would be cool, and I would be down. Victory Fanfare for when the boss is defeated wouldn't sound so bad.
Spire
I'm talking Legend of Zelda crossed with early Final Fantasy, before characters started getting really specific. To basically draw on the recurring elements across the series: Chocobos Black Mages White Mages Red Mages Crystals Gilgamesh Summons (Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, etc.) Cids so on and so forth. Not merging OoT with FF7, but by using OoT/MM resources, build a game that equally represents the heart of both series. I probably wouldn't commit to such a project, but I fancy the idea! Might make some concept art at some point.
HeavyZ
It would take a lot of imagination and some midi editing, but I think I could make more Final Fantasy esque' style Zelda songs, and more Zelda style Final Fantasy songs. I would like to see black mages, and moogles walking around a new Hyrule Castle town. Maybe you could do some concept art of that. More of what the world would be like in the art. I would find that most inspirational to see.
HeavyZ
Just started doing music for the mod. I REALLY need a modeller people. I'll look into doing the modelling myself if I have too, but I'd like to avoid that. Here's the Chocobo Ranch song
HeavyZ
So I found my new Chocobo Model Edited: I'm going to change this model so that it is not of such high quality and more OoT N64 style Credit for the model goes to Clawdo from TurboSquid. Edited: Anyways off to mess with this model and Hylian Toolbox.
Spire
It looks way too high. Beyond that, it doesn't match the OoT aesthetic—maybe TP. If it works, it could be stripped down a bit.
HeavyZ
I'm gonna add some flat pannels and UV map the textures on the feathers to take down some quality and make it look more OoT style. Edited: Probably anything else I can do to make it look more N64 OoT style.
JeDDyD
This may come in handy: http://www.models-resource.com/psx_ps2_ps3/finalfantasyx/sheet/5566/ It has quite a high poly count (being from FFX on the PS2) but if you can cut down the poly count it should prove useful. HeavyZ
I like that model a lot better, if I can use it I surely will.
Satoshi Kura
I love this, I'd absolutely love to ride a Chocobo in OoT! I'll have to take a look around whatever resources I have, I can rip models from just about any Final Fantasy game that's 3D (FF7, FF8, FFX, FFX-2, FFXI, and FFXII so far). Also, I could supply a better MIDI, one directly from FF7, for the Chocobo Ranch theme.
HeavyZ
I'll be good on chocobo models, all I'll have to do is make sure they look more like they should in an N64 game, but I would love to have those midi's. Anything Chocobo related from FF7 would be good. Can you get the noises they make as well?
Satoshi Kura
I may be able to.
Red Dingo
Maybe it would be easier to go with a Chocobo model from the same console generation as OoT.
HeavyZ
I have models of all different kinds, but I'm not even working on this, I'll pick it back up when I'm less busy
