Twili
He posted this on Z64: Anyone still alive here? Here's a thing I did that might be interesting to some of you It's a hack (GameShark code, for the moment) for vanilla OoT 1.0 (U) that allows the player to attack and kill off the various civilian actors that don't normally have collision (or anything interesting to say). Here's the source: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/336940/Software/Hextator%27s%20Doc/Media/Games/Reverse%20Engineering/Console/N64/Zelda/Ocarina%20of%20Time/NPC%20Killing/folDIR.html
john_smith_account
Hextator? Anyways, the hack is interesting. Why don't you invite him to join us?
Gump
Is it wrong of me to think of GTA when I see this? Because seriously, I feel like I'm watching Grand Theft Triforce right now.
sairugoth
"Watch out guys, Link just came back from the Fire Temple and looking to blow some steam off" jk That is a really cool hack tho, and I'm going to agree with XZSO. You should invite him to the GCN.
Jason777
I remember looking back at his documents around 2010 or 2011... he's been working on this for a really long time! EDIT: Jesus, he practically wrote 3D collision detection...
Gump
Link is going Postal! Haha oh god, gotta love those sandbox games that let you do basically anything. With this hack OoT essentially becomes a sandbox game.
DeathBasket
Really good. More people should be doing things like this.

Red Dingo
I spoke to him before on Serenes Forest. I recommended that he join this forum but he seemed disinclined.
Arcaith
They do normally have collision. What are you talking about? XD What they would have that they didn't before is a damage table entry or their own unique damage table.
Jason777
They do normally have collision. What are you talking about? XD What they would have that they didn't before is a damage table entry or their own unique damage table. If you look at the source code for the hack, you can see that he wrote collision detection for damage. He surrounded an NPC instance with a collision sphere, cylinder, or box and wrote code to see whether or not something came within or touched the box. I don't think he fully managed to understand collision of actors so he wrote it himself.
Airikita
I was thinking of something similar with code, but I don't think I'd do it for all NPCs... I mean, you could make the Gerudo into any other NPC, and knock them out.
Vexiant
I'm definitely bumping this. He's removed the download and I seemingly neglected to save it, as I did download it initially. I really hope someone has it!
