Hey everyone.  When I do an update, I like to highlight the works of a single member of the team.

This update, as promised, I  interview the head of music for the project the talented punk7890.

JSA: Why do you like to do music?

punk7890: I see music as a way to express myself without words. Generally I write music solely to satisfy myself. It's an added bonus if others like it as well. Though when writing music for a mod I would take into account the game's overall feel then the area in need of music.

More to the point, I like to be creative and express feelings through music, hence why I like making music.

JSA: cool.

punk7890: I guess if you can see yourself in a part of your own creation (ex: art), you've done a good job

JSA: They teach music theory in school, yet many say you can't teach the art of music.  Do you agree, and how do you feel about teaching music?

punk7890: I'm not really sure how they teach it in school to be honest. I've learnt playing piano for 4 or so years and learnt composing threw my teacher at the time.About a year or so after that I had the basic foundation of understanding and creating my own songs. From there I just built up on what I learnt threw out the years. I think you really can't teach the soul of what music is to someone, they have to build and find it themselfs.

At least, my music is very personal.

JSA: Changing gears, you've long been a part of the Zelda community.  How did that get started, and why do you stay an active member of the community?

punk7890: Hmm. It started in the ZSO days and from there sorta came back through out the years. It basicly stopped and I lost interest in 08 but stuck around for any serious modders that needed a hand in music.

JSA: Yeah, and thats a very good thing.  Do you feel that the current mods are what you've been waiting for?

punk7890: Yeah. I can't quite say for the other mods out there as I don't look around all that much but  ZB2 is looking and sounding quite awesome. I think the first project I did music for was URA, but sadly got canned.

punk7890: Oh and Adventure's of Tingle, also canned

JSA: Yeah, we were all bummed about URA.

punk7890: It really was quite amazing behind the scenes

JSA: Oh really?

Care to eleborate some for those of us who were not there?

punk7890: Sadly, I don't have Skype records anymore since I'm on a new computer but the stuff Spire and Zeth talked about in terms of the story where really in depth and fleshed out. That was really interesting to read.  It was like I was apart of something big that was going to happen. And of course Sakura's programming skills.

Not to mention the art Spire did where really well done.

JSA: Do you feel ZB2 can avoid URA's fate?  If so, why?

punk7890: That's mostly up to you as head. I have hope that it will get released, and hopfully many people will play it and enjoy it.
As for avoided the fate of URA. It's mostly because (from what I take) you have mostly all the parts in the game now correct? URA barely did from what I can tell. It was all in the minds, but never on paper. Basicly hardly any of it was in ROM (or at least I never seen anything from the 3 months that I was there).

punk7890: Don't want to dig up old stuff but tl;dr; I know you can do it. You just have to relize you got all the time in the world

JSA: anyways...
Next questions, 2 parts
1. How do you feel about ZB2 and..
2. How do you feel about the future of zelda n64 modding.

punk7890: 1. It looks quite neat (all the maps and such) and sounds neat (playing as 3 different chars? Nice).

2. Hmm. I'm not sure. I've never really been a big part of it. I'm sure if people have time to mod and relize there's no set limit/date on anything that it can still be around for awhile.

JSA: Final Question.
Just tell us what's in your future.  Music, or otherwise.

punk7890: Not really sure what the future will hold for me. It would be neat to do something music related. Though I can't see myself making music 24/7 so I'd be hard to say.
Hopfully coming out with a album or 2 when I spark some inspiration

JSA: Thanks
This concludes the interview part.
