The blond gave his own slight smile, before leaning in closer and placing a kiss on the other boy's cheek. His face reddening quickly at his own actions, he turned around, before picking up a few of the bags.

"C-come on..." he stammered. "W-we should... see if your mother's here yet... shouldn't we?"

Len went on ahead a bit, his gaze focused on the ground.

What was that all about? Why did I do that?

Before he knew it, he'd been bumped into by someone. Glancing up, he looked at the face of a purple-haired boy.

"Oh... sorry, kid..." the boy said softly. "I was in a bit of a rush there. I... oh, hey! Haru!"

Len blinked, staring at the purple haired teen.

I wonder if this is the friend Haru wanted to introduce me to?

'Gaku' gave a wide grin, his hair blowing slightly in the breeze.

"Heheh... yeah..." he chuckled. "I wanted to see if you were here first before rushing off to your place. By the way... is he a friend of yours?"

He nudged his head towards Len, who was moving a bit closer.

Len gave a polite bow.

"Nice to meet you..." he said softly. "I've heard a little about you."

Gakupo extended his hand, Len taking it as the two shook hands. The older boy grinned, before turning back to face Haru as well.

"First..." the purple-haired male said. "I just wanted to say that your mother saw me on the way, and told me to tell you that she may be a while. She's with Hiyama-sensei at the moment, talking about your schooling. I think she was talking about Len here as well."

Upon hearing his name, Len's gaze shifted over, an eyebrow raising.

"But I've found out some exciting news..." the older male said, eyes gleaming. "You remember the evil prince? Well, a couple days ago, he was publicly executed!"

Len's whole world suddenly shattered around him.

Gakupo blinked, his expression changing to confusion.

"Somehow..." he mumbled. "I figured you'd be happier. Your father has been avenged. All those people he wronged... have been avenged. Light can finally shine in Kiiro once again."

Len felt his chest burn. Placing the groceries down, he made a silent retreat, his absence going unnoticed for a short time.

Gakupo held his hands up and took a couple steps back. Even he'd never seen his friend so angry.

"Okay..." he said. "I'm sorry. I understand. I just... thought this was the justice you'd have been happy with."

Suddenly, he glanced around, noticing the absence of the blond.

"Hey!" he exclaimed. "Where's your friend? Where's Len?"

Len, in the meantime, had rushed into an abandoned church, tears stinging his eyes, bringing fresh memories back.

It's too much to bear...

Entering into the confession box, Len sat on the empty bench and began to sob, not hearing the soft footsteps enter the church.

"It's snack time..." he whimpered. "But I'm not hungry. I don't think I'll be able to go on."

Clenching his hands into fists, the blond continued.

"Forgive me..." he said, voice cracking slightly. "My sins are many. I have killed many. Not personally, but through my very desire. If I could go back, I would do things over. I didn't ask to be Kiiro's prince, and I didn't ask for so much pain. So why? Why is everything so painful?"

Haru came inside the church just in time to hear Len's confession. His eyes widened in shock and he paled. Prince of Kiiro?! Len was the Prince of Evil?! It made sense, now that he thought about it. There had been subtle hints. Under any other circumstances, Haru would have been angry beyond belief. But hearing the sorrow and pain in the blonde's voice made his heart feeling like it was breaking. He wanted nothing more than to comfort him and that's what he was going to do as he silently started walking towards him.

"I didn't want to be prince..." he said, continuing. "I just wanted for my sister and I to live happy lives. Too much to ask. I'm the one living when she should be. How is that fair?"

Looking upwards, a desperate look came to his eyes.

"Please..." he said. "Will you bring her back... in exchange for me?"

Haru flinched at the request. He couldn't be serious, could he? He knew he missed his sister, but to want to die to bring her back? That was bordering on insanity!

...No, no it wasn't. If Haru was in Len's place, he'd probably ask for the same thing. Quickening his pace, he knew the other didn't notice him, so he stayed quiet. Instead, he wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tightly.

Haru cringed at his words and questions he had no answers for. He could only hold onto him. He wanted to tell him to stop saying such things. It wouldn't make his sister happy now. Seeing him so miserable would probably hurt her. But if he said such things... he shuddered to think of the reaction the blonde would have.
