Finally they stopped snapping their fingers. The youngest Mizune sister landed on the ground, followed by the fifth, the fourth, the third and finally the second oldest. A purple light surrounded them and when it faded, a busty pink haired woman was standing in their place. She stared at Yuri, "Little girl, you need to learn how to stay out of people's ways."

Yuri twitched, hearing one of the shop keepers nearby was gushing at how 'hot' the witch in front of her was.

"Maybe I don't..."

She crouched down near the ground, her hand laid on the stones, her gray eyes narrowed on the mouse.

"But I think you've done enough damage to my only home in this world, I'm going to devour your soul!"

I can't use my full powers cause I don't have a meister... but I'll be fine... I'm going to make sure my training has meant something after all this time!

Gritting her teeth, she lunges at five deckered mouse, letting out a battle cry.

---

"What should I do now that I'm here...?"

He was beginning to draw in the sand, until there was a circle surrounding him.

"Right here... this is my area... I'm drawing the line to mark it."

Now completing it, he began to head to its center. "But what should I do now...?"

He began to kick at the sand, but that got boring quickly.

"Kicking sand doesn't seem to do me any good... and there's not much else but sand in this place... even the sun's lifeless... it's just hanging there, asleep in the sky..."

Crona sat on the ground, curling up a bit, trying to ignore the drooling dead sun in the sky.

"Doing nothing is probably the best plan..."

He sat there for a while, before his shadow seemed to morph a bot, as it looked like him, only with a creepy looking smile.

Hey. My name is Crona.

Of course... it always shows up when I'm doing nothing...

Can I ask you some questions? Here it goes...

Again with the questions... and all I really wanna do is nothing...

"Can I pass if I want?"

That's up to you, I guess. Here are my questions. Question one, what's your name?

"I pass." Mark 1

That was an easy one. You mean you won't even say what your name is? Why do you think that is?

"I pass." Mark 2

Here, lemme see if I can answer that one for you. You basically can't answer other people's questions, so you question yourself to keep your mind in tact. That sound about right?

"Pass." Another mark.

Another pass? You need to start answering. This isn't even self questioning anymore. Don't you agree?

"Pass."

Are you hoping someone will start paying attention to you if you act troubled enough? But don't you realize that you're alone, that no one really cares about your suffering?

"I pass"

That makes five passes. Let's change the subject then... we can talk about the little one. When you beat it up, that was your first time. How did you feel when you defeated it?

"Pass"

It must have been refreshing huh? Finally finding an opponent weaker than you?

"Pass."

That's how you felt, wasn't it? That's why you didn't question Lady Medusa when she told you to grow more powerful.

"Pass."

You've grown much stronger since that first time. How does that make you feel?

"Pass"

After a while, the ground seemed to be covered with marks from the passes that Crona had taken from the questions that the shadow had asked him.

Is that made it better? Has it driven away the hell inside your head?

"I pass."

Just answer a question already, if you don't, won't the hell inside of you grow even larger?

"I pass."

A 41st mark had joined the scratches in the sand.

41 passes... that's 41 times you've denied me... The shadow seemed to cry. You're a horrible person... the worst.

"You've never said anything mean like that to me before... why do you have to keep hanging around me anyway...? Because of you, everyone around me gets hurt... and so do I. I wish you didn't exist..."

What? Do you think I'm some sort of alter ego you have? I thought surely you'd know better than to believe that by now. Don't you get it? I'm an ordinary emotion that everyone has...but you'd rather believe something else.

Crona barely was seen flinching, "It's just that..."

You don't know how to deal with others? Repeating that is exactly how you've ended up in this state of self denial. Where are you trying to go?

"I pass."

A moment of silence seemed to pass, before a sad sigh escaped the shadow.

You know, I think we've had enough of this...I'm going on ahead.

With that the shadow was gone... and Crona had made the last mark of passes that he had taken.

"42..."

My name's Death the Kid, I'm a sycthe meister. Tell me who you are.

"...Demon Swordsmen Crona...

Crona was whimpering as big thick tears were bubbling and falling down his face.

"Why was I able to answer the question that time?! ...I... I am the Demon Swordsmen Crona...!" He sobbed against his knees.

"I know that!" Exclaimed a new voice. When Crona looked up he saw a small boy standing there, hands on his hips. He had messy black hair with three small stripes of white on the left side and gold eyes. He was wearing a dark blue t-shirt with tan jeans. "Hellooo~" He said cheerfully. Crona flinched back causing the boy to giggle, "Can I come in there too?"

"I don't know how to deal with other people... but I feel better when I'm safe in here all by myself..."

He shook his head, trying to calm his tears.

"Now it's ruined... it won't work anymore, not with you here."

He looked up, only to have his shocked expression return as Kid was kicking his foot at the line he had drawn.

Crona was stuck staring, as the dust settled, and he was left standing in the desert with Kid beside him.

---

A scream seemed to escape from Crona, snapping Soul out of his daze, as he saw what looked like blood needles going off in the demon swordsmen's body.

*What now...? A blood rejection?*

He heard a voice suddenly call his name, as he looked towards it.

*Kid!*

*I'm coming!*

Soul had managed to pull out of the grip that the madness had on him, before he seemed to fall through the air, and land on a solid wet surface, as he looked around.

"Kid! Where are you?! KID!"

He gasped, as he looked down, seeing the older male stuck under the water like surface below, only dressed in his white dress shirt and black pants.

"I'm coming!" He tried to push his hand through the surface, thought there seemed to be some resistance from it feeling like he was pushing his hand through solid tar. "Its... so thick..."

He reached his arm down further, feeling his finger tips brush against Kid's.

"DAMNIT!" The imp cursed.

They grasped each other's wrists tightly and after a few hard tugs, Soul managed to pull Kid up.

In the real world, Kid snapped to attention and stood up straight, "How's Crona?" He asked, looking both determined and a little concerned at the same time.

*We made it...*

Soul managed to breathe, feeling relieved that he got his boyfriend out of there safely.

Crona was screaming, almost seeming to be in the pain as the blood seemed to be going crazy inside of him, as Soul found Kid had picked him up and set him against the wall.

*Hey! What are you doing?!*

Kid winced slightly, but gave a small smile of assurance, "Don't be so frightened." He said softly, walking forward, "It's okay. You're just a little shaken up now that the line you had drawn is erased." He winced again as more of the blood needles stabbed him and brushed past him, "It's okay, really." He smile was weak as he moved closer, "I promise you." He slumped to his knees and fell forward against Crona. "Now I understand it. Your soul wavelength." Kid slowly lifted his arms and wrapped them around the pink haired male in a gentle hug, "It's not that you don't know how to deal with people...it's that no one took the time to deal with you..."

"...It's alright now. I've already been given up on plenty of times anyway. I understand. I'm not needed for anything anymore. That's why I've decided just now... that would be best if I just disappeared..."

Crona seemed to mumble, before he felt Kid carefully part from the hug, before he seemed to imitate his father, and gave a light shinigami chop against his head, seeming to make him blink softly.

"...R...Really?"

Crona spoke, before he quickly felt himself beginning to cry, as he covered his face.

"B...But I... still don't know how to deal with other people..."

A little smile seemed to appear on Soul's face, as he returned to his human form, keeping his hands in his pockets.

----

In the dream inside of his head, he was crying, but little Kid offered his hand to him, as he took it, both of their shadows seeming to have little happy grins on their faces.

----

"The fear of interacting with other people..." Soul mumbled, remembering the others that he had met and was beginning to gain a connection with. "...Even I get that one..."

----

"You can't succeed without the madness huh? Heh, how does it feel to be so wrong?"

Soul taunted the little demon as he was heading towards the door.

"Maybe you should take up a different hobby. The music thing doesn't really suit you..."

With that, the door closed, leaving the little demon inside.

"Awww, he left~"

He said in a sarcastic tone, spinning the chained key on his finger.

"But that's alright, the door will always be unlocked... but still... what his little boyfriend did back there... did a reaper really cause a exorcism wavelength...?"

----

Crona was still sobbing, as he shivered.

"I've never cried this much before in my life... how am I supposed to deal with my tears? There's so many of them..."

"Kid..." Soul went over to the reaper, and held his shoulder. "We're running out of time, we need to get moving."

"But we can't just leave him like this, he's a wreck!" Kid protested. While Soul muttered something about being 'just their luck', a new voice spoke up, "Screw you guys!" startling all three of them. Out of Crona's back popped Ragnarok, except...much much smaller. He suddenly slammed his hand against Kid's mouth and started shaking him, "Damn you little boy!"
