How to change Link's Animations and write them directly to the rom.

Find The Animation you want to change.

2310 = Peer over something and fall.

2318 = Getting item from big chest (child Link).

2320 = Pushed off log in Ruto cutscene.

2328 = Nod and fall into sitting position.

2330 = Open door as child Link. (Knob on the left.)

2338 = Open door as child Link. (Knob on the right.)

2340 = Thrown out out of Hyrule Castle/Gerudo Fortress.

2348 = Holding Spiritual Stone. (Some people think this is a prerelease Item Get thing, reused in TP.)

2350 = Holding Spiritual Stone straight up.

2358 = Return to normal position after holding Spiritual Stone.

2360 = Pull Master Sword out.

2368 = Backing away slowly. (Child Link.)

2370 = Kneeling, unsheath sword and shield.

2378 = Kneeling, looking straight forward, shocked.

2380 = Look to the left slowly. (Last few frames of below?)

2388 = Looking around and then to the left.

2390 = Get up from sitting position (Child Link).

2398 = Looking to the left. (Continuation of above.)

23A0 = Peer through Zelda's Window.

23A8 = Grab something in front of you and fall back (Child Link).

23B0 = Get up from sitting position and dust off (Child Link).

23B8 = Sitting position.

23C0 = Climb off ladder. (Child Link).

2598 = Beta normal shield defense? (Kneeling leg is swapped.)

25A0 = Stance version of above.

25A8 = Hop twice while defending with shield? Beta? (Side jumping?)

25B0 = One hand goes in front of mouth while the other sweeps the ground.

25B8 = Defensive Z-Targeting stance.

25C0 = Same as above.

25C8 = Defensive stance for Biggoron Sword/Megaton Hammer.

2640 = Bottle a fairy and hold it straight up.

2648 = Use bottle (to catch fairy)

2650 = Free bottled fairy.

2668 = First few frames of drinking bottle.

2670 = Center frame of bottle drinking.

2678 = Capture a Poe/bug/fish in a bottle and hold it up.

2680 = Use bottle (to catch Poe/bug/fish).

2748 = Go through door (Adult Link) (Knob on the left.) (Shield arm up.)

2750 = Go through door (Adult Link) (Knob on the left.)

2758 = Go through door (Adult Link) (Knob on the right.) (Shield arm up.)

2760 = Go through door (Adult Link) (Knob on the right.)

2768 = Turn around, shocked (King Dodongo cutscene beta?).

2770 = Simply spin around.

2778 = Turn around, shocked (King Dodongo cutscene).

2780 = Get spell. (Turn around and hold hands up.)

2788 = Get spell (different). Holds hands up without turning.

2790 = Turn around shocked, hold shield arm up. (Gohma and Barinade boss fight entrance animation.)

2798 = Quivering and holding arm up. (Ganondorf's magic.)

27A0 = Same, but repeat-able.

27A8 = Looking at self when transformed into an adult.

27B0 = Step forward and hold hands up.

27B8 = Looking around and holding hands up. (Cutscene after attacking Cucco?)

27C0 = Holding hands up, looking up.

27C8 = Looking up, hands apart.

27D0 = Hands up, looking down.

27D8 = Bring left hand up to face while tilting head downwards.

27E0 = Complete version of above. (Shielding eyes/face.)

27E8 = Shocked, looks down at hand. (For Triforce.)

27F0 = Looking at hand. (For Triforce.)

27F8 = Surprised, holding glowing Master Sword.

2800 = Standing with shield arm up, sword arm jerks.

2808 = Surprised, holding glowing Master Sword. (Different stance.)

2810 = Caught by Gerudo guards.

2818 = Looking up, shocked. Looks at back of hand.

2820 = Staring at back of hand.

2828 = Checking to see if bridge to Ganon's Castle is real.

2830 = Repeatable version of above.

2838 = Swings Master Sword after pulling it out.

2840 = Pulling Master Sword out (adult Link).

2848 = Look down, holding shield arm up.

2850 = Step back, look up slightly.

2858 = Stance of above.

2860 = Taken away in Blue Warp.

2868 = Look back after losing sword.

3378 = Sitting there on horse/backing up.

3380 = Same.

3388 = Raise hand out slightly.

3390 = Get off left side of horse.

3398 = Get on left side of horse.

33A0 = Get off right side of horse.

33A8 = Get on right side of horse.

33B0 = Press heels into horse.

33B8 = Pet/Dust off horse.

33C0 = Looking around on horse.

33C8 = Idling on horse.

33E0 = Another animation for when Link idles (adjusts belt).

33E8 = Another idling animation (taps tips of feet on the ground).

33F0 = Another idling animation (yawn and throws arms).

33F8 = Same as 33D0, but one hand has odd rotation.

3400 = Same.

3408 = Same as 33E0.

3410 = Same as 33E8.

3418 = Idle animation (test shield).

3420 = Idle animation (test sword).

3428 = Idle animation (test Biggoron Sword).

3430 = Same as 33F0.

3438 = Holds shield arm up.

3440 = Have something as child Link?

3448 = Look to Ocarina after learning a song.

3450 = Look to Ocarina after learning a song.

3458 = Same as 3448, but child Link.

3460 = Same as 3450, but child Link.

3468 = Right hand moves slightly.

3470 = Looks around shocked (door closes behind Link).

3478 = Looks forward afterwards, looks angry.

3480 = Gasping (sees Ganondorf)

3488 = Master Sword knocked from hand.

3490 = Animation before losing Master Sword.

3498 = Looks back at lost Master Sword.

34A0 = Looks at Ganon, shocked.

34A8 = Same as 3498.

34B0 = Same as 34A0.

34B8 = Looking at Ocarina.

34C0 = Looking up at Ganon.

34C8 = Pushes something to the side, shocked.

34D0 = Looking back.

34D8 = Looking up at Navi.

34E0 = Looking at Zelda.

34E8 = Slides forward, "open" position.

34F0 = Same as 34D8.

 

 

 

Eventually I'll have a Complete documentation of all off Link's Movements but this is all I have for now.

I also have these in Gameshark code format for those who prefer using codes(ill post at a later time)

But with the use of a Hex editor and the information provided you don't need codes, you can write directly to Rom.

One last note I want to give credit to Flotonic for using his animation list( I've actually Found the same information way before he posted his, but let's not go into That)

Nice! im glad this came to GCN this was on maco but all the documentation were throwned away thanks for this :P

 

the animation list was yeah, but not the hex editing I did in the pic, that pic was hard to make I had to use paint to erase the text and document it.

 

It'd be really cool if you could find the walking/running and idle offsets for me. I have no idea how to do that stuff.

 

the idle animation is

3240 in gameplay keep

3148, 3140 is running in gameplay keep

if i ever get to working on this i'll post more info :(
